I'd love to see him there. It's been enough time that I'm over waiting in the field for seemingly forever for him to come on that night/morning. That written, I do worry some people might not be as forgiving and get in the pit just to hoist up anti-Kanye signs, etc. Who knows how that would go over.
Vomit! I think it would be the opposite for me. I might not attend if he headlines next year.
Why not just go to Bonnaroo and skip the 1 out of 100+ shows you don't want to see? I never understood people saying they won't go to Bonnaroo if a certain artist is performing there. I only really paid attention to 1 of the 3 headliners this year anyway. There is much more to see besides the headliners.
I skipped Jack Johnson this year and it in no way ruined my Bonnaroo.
While I wouldn't mind giving him another chance (I watched the Coachella show online, which was incredible, and the Gov Ball set sounded amazing), I don't think he would want to come back and I don't think AC/Superfly would want him back. He fucked up big time that year. To my knowledge, no other artist has screwed up bigger at Bonnaroo or treated waiting fans more like shit. Do I think it's impossible? No. Unlikely? Yes.

I probably wouldn't skip it but I don't see why they would have him back. I also skipped Jack Johnson this year. And the year that Kanye was there in the past he didn't ruin my Bonnaroo but he definately frustrated the heck out of a lot of people.
I'm more interested in a Watch The Throne set. Caught the tour in Detroit and it was 2.5 hours of insanity. So much fun and SO many hits. Best show I've ever seen (including McCartney). Seriously.
I'd honestly rather have Jack Johnson again, or Mumford in that spot. I'm not being sarcastic at all either. Kanye's an arrogant, immature man-child who screwed up his own set at roo in 2008, disapointing his fans, and blamed it on ac/superfly. I highly doubt they would want him to headline, considering how important of a spot the headlining position is. I'd still go even if he did headline and would use the time he is playing to sleep/eat/get a good spot for late night, but it would be disapointing that that spot was wasted. I also think that Kanye as a headlinber is debatable, he might be top 10, not top 3. He would be better suited to a late night which.

What are you talking about? I haven't heard about this.

Hey, know what's crazy? Kanye's headlined multiple other major American festivals since that 2008 mishap.
If Kanye West headlined Bonnaroo, having just seen him headline Governors Ball, the only thing "wasted" would be your time if you skipped it for a f*cking sandwich.
He HEADLINED Coachella, which at this point probably carries a higher social standing and relevance than headlining Bonnaroo.
I wish I could light your post on fire and piss on its ashes while humming Blood on the Leaves to myself.

Now everyone is entitled to their opinion, but this right here, this is just crazy talk. Kanye is one of the top 10 artists in the world right now (using popularity, sales, awards, ticket sales as just a few metrics) let alone on a festival lineup. For every person that would not come if Kanye were there, 10 would come largely because he was there.
And I think the ultimate coup would be to have Kanye and Phil L/Bob W (or some combination) both headline in the same year and promote some sort of jam between them - it might be train-wreck horrible, but I sure wouldn't miss it.

Flanzoid - I agree with everything you said. EXCEPT the part about me being at the less relevant and lower social standing festival. Did you see what I wore at Bonnaroo?

Hmmm. That might be the weakest assemblage of "fashion" I've ever seen from Bonnaroo. So much goodness could have been had with that. But to answer your question - banana.

Let me defend myself. yes, Kanye headlined Governors Ball, but headlining governors ball =/= headlining roo. By that same logic Guns n Roses could also headline roo, which i see as highly unlikely, unless the whole band gets back together, Slash included. This of course is about as likely as Daft Punk joining the blue collar comedy group (Larry the cable guy, Jeff Foxworthy, etc.). Also, yeah he headlined Coach, but they also had the stone roses as a headliner this year, i just feel that bonnaroo is the stronger the festival in terms of names. Personally , I hate Kanye with a passion, and perhaps that could blur my judgement a bit, however considering his history with the fest, i doubt that ac/superfly would consider him a possibility. Also why the hostility to skipping Kanye for rest/food/good spot for late night? I recall many on this board saying they would do the same this year for Mumford without being crucified.
