Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
He does realize Bonnaroo has over 500,000 likes on Facebook right?? Of course there is going to be people who are pissed on there. Maybe even hundreds or a couple thousand. But there's no doubt in mind they will be outnumbered by people who embrace him or are ready to forgive him or people who just really don't give a fuck either way and will do something else. That dudes a tool.

One of the many highly intelligent FB comments I read was: "What happened to the days of Tool and The Police! You've gotten far from your roots Bonnaroo."
Also, another favorite: "You guys sure do hate Kanye! The one everyone should be hating on is Jack White! A headliner?!!! I don't think so! Dudes only got like one album and it sucks. I listened to it this morning. He's horrible and only has one album. LOL" (it was something along those lines, I shit you not)
This is highly unlikely, but if AC/Superfly were actually interested in appeasing the people who aren't happy about Kanye West, the answer is simple: don't schedule his set completely unopposed. Just a few lower-tier bands playing tent shows would be enough to give all of detractors something to do (plus, help to avoid the kinds of actions mentioned in the exchange above) and I think the gesture alone would appease some people.
He's a headliner, the babies bitching and moaning like this are so hypocritical.
"Peace, love and fuck Kanye" is a thing. HOW DOES THAT MAKE SENSE?!?
No, Bonnaroo should do what it intends to do: give Kanye his unopposed set, force people to make an adult decision (like adults make every year at the festival) and to stop being a bunch of selfish whining cunts.

Jess, you seen Vampire Weekend or Phoenix in any 500-person bars lately? 5th and 7th on a stacked lineup, not bad for a couple of nobody bar bands, eh?
What songs are you all hoping he'll play? I'm hoping for as much from the College Dropout as possible, plus at least Black Skinhead and Blood on the Leaves from Yeezus. If he plays All Falls Down, Spaceship, and Never Let Me Down, I'll die a happy man.
I'm getting tired of hearing all the Kanye drama.

I'm not going to argue with you, as it is obvious we have different an opinions and no one is changing their mind. But why do you have the exacerbate the argument by calling people babies and "selfish whining cunts"? People are expressing their opinion. Their opinion differs from yours and you are free to disagree all you want, but it always seems to devolve into name-calling with you.
You want to talk about adults? Adults don't call other people whining cunts for having a differing opinion.

I'm hoping for something similar to the recent setlists where he played a bunch of different, older stuff. I'm down for the Yeezus show and can't wait for that (This sunday!) but i'm starting to feel like the Roo show will be epic. He's got to change it up a bit.

Put me down for the pit too. Unless there is just an unmissable performer right before his show, that's where I'll be.
Is this an all day wait like McCartney? My gut kinda says yes.
Also, both of these quotes are freaking gold. People talk shit about Kanye comparing himself to other icons, but if you can go into the studio with Daft Punk and make a song called "I am a God," you're on another level.
"When someone comes up and says something like, ‘I am a god,’ everybody says ‘Who does he think he is?’ I just told you who I thought I was. A god. I just told you. That’s who I think I am,"
“So the next day I went to the studio with Daft Punk, and I wrote ‘I Am a God,’Cause it’s like, yo! Nobody can tell me where I can and can’t go. Man, I’m the No. 1 living and breathing rock star. I am Axl Rose; I am Jim Morrison; I am Jimi Hendrix.”

Stop trying to use logic with Jess, that's just mean.

I'm sorry, but please explain to me why I should give a group of people posting racist, disgusting and narrow-minded comments on the Bonnaroo Facebook wall that kind of respect?
People are "expressing their opinion" by being awful, intolerant, unforgiving, mean-spirited children. If there is such a thing as "the Bonnaroo mentality" or "vibe" or whatever you want to call it, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE PEOPLE IS UNDERMINING IT. And these are the "true Bonnaroovians?" I'm sorry, but you're either full of shit, blind, or dumb.
You can disagree with Kanye's music. You can tell me you hate it, that it sounds like cats clawing at each other's testicles, whatever you want. Back it up with logical fact, and you have yourself an adult discussion.
Appeasing a group of grown individuals who conduct themselves in this manner SOLELY BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T GET THEIR WAY would serve to only enable future similar behavior.
Do you have kids? Have you ever been around kids? The way to deal with kids is not to enable and reward their bad behavior. And if you're still confused, people trying to coordinate efforts to MOON KANYE AND THE CROWD ENJOYING HIM are childish, whiny cunts and I hope they all get the Roo Flu up their ass.
And your posts drip with condescension, I'm just curious as to whether that's intentional, or if you're just naturally this insufferable.

I'm sure you guys are all over the Roo FB page, but I'd like to share something that popped up on my news feed, because I can't think of a group of people who would appreciate it more.
In response to, "Kanye West as a Bonnaroo headliner? lol":
"Gay and I thought it was bad when lil Wayne was there when I went. It brightened my mood up when half his crowd left and went to bassnectar."

Except this isn't facebook, this is inforoo. You can reference the idiotic comments on facebook all you want, but the fact of the matter is, you aren't directing your name-calling at them. You quoted me and immediately said, "the babies biznatching and moaning like this are so hypocritical." I'm not on facebook, I haven't made any racist comments, and I'm not planning on mooning anybody. In fact, my comment was supposed to have a positive spin, with the intention of giving people something to do other than show up at Kanye's set with a childish protest.
I'm sorry, but what the hell are you talking about? Kanye West grew up in the suburbs, his family had plenty of money. He isn't one of the "ghetto" stories like so many other rappers. He had more than enough money to go to a pretty high end art school, and then flunked his way out (or as he claims, "decided he was finished"). The point is, he did have it easy all along. His parents divorced when he was young (which I'm sure isn't easy, but it happens to millions of kids in the suburbs), but his family was still relatively affluent. This isn't Biggie, who really did grow up on the streets and in relative poverty. This is Kanye West, a man who has completely rearranged his image to fit what he thinks people want him to be.
You really have been acting like this for 6 years. What a wanker.

You're right - I was wrong about Metallica. They put on a good show, pleased their fans, and embraced the festival.
Again, I haven't called any of you names. My negativity and hostility has been directed towards Kanye West. Your negativity and hostility is being directed at me.

Yes, this is inforoo, where people talk about coordinating attacks on Kanye's show, it's not just Facebook. The only thing that FB has that inforoo doesn't is rampant racist commentary. Here, it's only sprinkled in once in a while.
I can also reference the idiotic comments on here, which I've been doing.
Please explain to me why, for the first time in the history of the festival, a 2nd billed act should be forced to eat an opposed set? Again, it's because childish idiots can't just go take a nap, get a hot dog or post up for a LN. They have to vocalize their hate for someone, vibez be damned.
Just stop. If you weren't on the side of these cretins, I wouldn't direct this stuff at you, but as long as you're in here defending them, I will.

Okay, got it. I'll be sure to show you the same amount of respect that you show me from now on.
Why do I think Kanye West should be "forced to eat an opposed set"?
Because I think it has the potential to turn a negative into a positive.
You might not agree with their sentiments, but it is apparent that their are a lot of people unhappy with Kanye West's return to Bonnaroo. Facebook is one example, but there are plenty of people here who feel that way as well. There was a recent poll question about his show and 23% of inforoosters replied "Fuck Kanye". We obviously aren't dealing with the typical "controversial" headliner; this is someone who has a prior relationship with the festival and obviously stirs-up a lot of vehemence from a significant portion of the Bonnaroo fanbase. Running a few tent shows during Kanye's show would do a lot more good than harm. It would give all the people planning protests and other silly gestures an alternative, hopefully mitigating anything that might have actually come to fruition. Moreover, as I mentioned, I think the gesture alone would go a long way with silencing the detractors. Hell, they could even make it a jambandtacular so that most Kanye fans won't feel like their missing anything. In fact, if they just booked Robert Randolph for a two-hour tent show during Kanye's set, I would shut the hell up right now.
There may be lots of people unhappy with Kanye West's return. I've already asked you this, but do you use this kind of logic in all of life's situations? "Well, lots of people feel this way, so it must be addressed!" There does exist the possibility that loads of people are being illogical and barrelheaded at the same time, you do understand that, correct?

There will be a cafe act or two playing during Kanye. We're a ways out from that announcement, but there's always at least one other artist playing during a 'unopposed set' save for the What closer.
(1) Damon Albarn (2) Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds (3) King Khan & His Shrines (4) Ty Segall (5) Ms Lauryn Hill (6) Darkside (7) Kanye (8) Janelle Monae (9) Goat (10) Meshuggah.
There will probably at least be a cafe act playing, maybe even a good one. A lot of people found something better to do during Kings of Leon, which was the last real big uproar around here that I can remember.
Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.
