Disappointing. A blatant direct selling move by someone who had the potential to be an actual pop artist, in an age where that's increasingly rare, instead doing the exact thing Yeezy's been preaching about: using his name to sell product.
I haven't been following this thread so I'm not sure if this had been mentioned, but I know a while back there was a discussion about whether Kanye could bring his whole production if he headlined.
From USA Today: "He's headlining and can deliver his full show," Capps says. "That's what we want from our headliners."
I was looking for this. Flanzo...full Yeezus show.

Probably why he is playing Friday, they have all day Thursday to setup his stage like they did for McCartney last year.
What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.

I still don't think that confirms it, but at least you can't rule it out now.
Even if you guys get the GB set, it's still a ridiculous, awesome show.
One thing I've wondered about, with his Yeezus set, it's almost like a musical. There are acts, it's extremely coordinated and planned...would he change up that performance by adding material from other albums? Or, like at GB, will he use a non-Yeezus set and combine his Yeezus show with hit from his catalog.
Having seen both, I don't think I could pick one I preferred. With GB, I got the run through his catalog that I always dreamed of. At Yeezus, I got to experience his artistry and how far he's come as an all-encompassing performer.

I was thinking yesterday how great it would be if he brought Cam'Ron with him as a guest, and they did Gone together and then went right into Down and Out. A boy can dream right?
That performance from SNL makes me very excited to see Kanye. He put together such a cool performance on such a small stage. I can only imagine what his full production is like!

Good thing he's bringing his whole show, I'm really stoked to watch him pretend talk to God for 25 minutes while he pushes his "art-house rap" shtick. Groundbreaking.

I'm expecting that this show might be one of the best ever on the farm (that I've seen, anyway). I've got a Bonnaroo playlist on shuffle in my car, and every time Kanye comes on I turn up the volume and imagine him performing it...always makes the hair on my arms stand up. This show is going to be fucking amazing.

That video actually really made me want to see his show now. He's grown up and you can tell. He's not the same person he was 6 years ago and it's amazing to me that people choose to hold grudges instead of move on. Everyone makes mistakes. Do you really want people to hold something over your head because of a mistake you made when you were younger? He's human and....I know this may be shocking....he messes up just like the rest of us.
I'm tired of people putting these celebrities up on a pedestal like they're God and no matter what they do they'll always be that person they were. That's just foolish. In the video he said he's letting go of negativity and moving forward. He admitted his mistakes and wants to work on fixing them and you still complain.
Seriously there is more to life than some rapper performing at a music festival. I hope all these people don't come so I can be at the Roo I learned to love. Full of people who love. Period. Love life, love music, and love each other. All this other bull can stay at home and post eff Kanye on the internet all weekend and miss out on one of the greatest acts of forgiveness I've witnessed thus far in my life.
I don't think he will be doing the exact Yeezus show. I can't picture any way they could have that same set on the farm. If they do, then that will be absolutely insane. But I'm not hoping for it.

I'm going to tonight's show in Long Island for free. Seems like tickets didn't sell too well so there's a bunch of promotions around. At least that's my impression.

I'm team OUTKAST by the way.
He sold out two shows at Barclays and two shows at MSG. He's putting on a 5th show in the same area, of course it won't sell that well. I didn't get why he was coming through here again, to be honest.

It's funny, when I started going to Bonnaroo I was excited about the headliners and viewed the rest of the card as icing on the cake. These days it's the exact opposite. Not to mention that I've seen a lot of sets at Roo from artists I wasn't really a fan of but thoroughly enjoyed myself. A big part of the festival is checking out new music. I seriously doubt the crowd will be as bad as everyone is anticipating. Those people who want to come by the set just to boo him are going to feel like jerks really quick when there are 40-50k people around them who are trying to enjoy the show. People have always talked a lot of trash before the festival and kept quiet amongst the masses.
I don't mind folks saying they don't like Ye's personality or the things he says, but I definitely take offense to people calling him talentless and claiming he doesn't care about his fans. I could easily see this being the best show of the weekend. He's got something to prove and Kanye is always in it to win it.

I could see him pulling everything off except the runway. I just don't see that working out at all. He doesn't have a band behind him or much backline, so there should be plenty of room on What. I just hope that they let him have the pyro. It really adds to the spectacle.
I was born in the back seat of a Yellow Cab in a hospital loading zone and with the meter still running. I emerged needing a shave and shouted 'Time Square, and step on it!
Last night I was at an engagement party for my cousin. At one point, I was behind the bar pouring whiskey (for myself, often), and a father of one of the bridesmaids came over to shoot the shit, and one of the bride-to-be's law school friends were there. Somehow, because my life is a comedy, Kanye came up. The law student commences hating the ever-loving shit out of Kanye. He emphatically states that he a) can't read sheet music and b) doesn't play any instruments, and therefore is not a musician and is on a level with the "press play" laptop dj's.
Since I was representing my family and my cousin (the groom), I didn't want to get into a silly argument, so I was thinking of a diplomatic response when the older guy jumped in to tell the law student how much of a dumbshit idiot he was. It was awesome. This guy in his mid-50's was all about Ye, he even went to one of his shows at MSG. I'm inviting him to the bachelor party.

This is always a very weak argument. Jimi Hendrix couldn't read sheet music. A LOT of artists can't. You don't need formal training to have a great ear for music. It's actually a talent that you can't teach at all.
Kanye does have some music knowledge though. He is among the greatest producers in the history of Hip-Hop. You do need some kind of knowledge to produce the more complex beats that he has created.

Good, I hope they move me and my friend closer to the stage from our seats.
I think that Kanye could maybe even pull off the Ice berg runway at Bonnaroo. I was front row right where it connected and lifted up. I could be wrong but that seemed like a complete seperate piece. If he just used that at the front of the stage or a smaller runway connected to it I think it could be done. But maybe I'm wrong. I know Paul had that front part of the stage that lifted up last year and I think Kanye could do something similar. The dancers and Jesus wouldn't be able to come down the runway but they could adjust things I'm sure.

With him playing Friday, I as well wouldn't completely rule it out. I think theoretically they could build some sort of modified set up Thusday, fill Friday with bands that don't have rediculous set ups, and break it down in the night. If he were playing Saturday I'd say no chance. I don't think it is likely but I do think it is plausible. I do wonder if the mountain is just too wide to fit the stage, it which case this whole thing is a moot point.
