Kanye could have gotten up there and said he was the Queen of England and that he had a 30 foot dick, and that still wouldn't have made it okay to heckle his show or roam Centeroo chanting fuck Kanye.
And I've already said I did neither.
Edit: For the record though if he'd said he was the Queen of England, yes, THAT I would've heckled. And I'm pretty damn sure you'd do the same to anyone BUT Kanye.
Again, I got it. I actually did want to know why you didn't like it, so that's why I asked. I missed the show, and wanted to know if I missed something. I had a hard time believing Jack White did a horrible job of playing his own music. You seem to be passionate about people accepting Kanye for who he is, but condone "hating" another talented musicians performance? I can't think of a single show I've been to at Bonnaroo that I "hated". I'm sorry that you were unable to enjoy a great guitarist having fun on stage at a music festival.
He was pitchy, sounded really shrill in the mix, and played a set of slow-to-midtempo songs that were good songs, but not something to get pumped or move around to. I'm a huge Jack White fan and hyped his set up to my friends all weekend, until Saturday night when we were all kinda disappointed, I more than anyone.
Yep I know I disagree with he majority of people here on JW's set. That said, I'm a huge fan and I've loved both of the shows I've seen from him before (White Stripes and Blunderbuss tour). I just don't get why so many people loved his set this time. It was far and away the worst of the three sets of his I've seen (the other two rank top three and top ten) and my least favorite headliner performance at Bonnaroo this year. Maybe my expectations were too high, maybe I was just too pissed off about the weird last-minute set time changes, IDK. I wish I hadn't left before the encore, because that's a setlist I would much rather see than the main set.
I'm glad someone brought up Chance, btw -- his was by far my favorite set this year. His energy was on another level, and yes, kinda reminded me of seeing Jack White on stage 10ish years ago -- mostly in terms of that energy. But yeah, I was a few rows back for that one, and the love bouncing back and forth between Chance and the crowd was incredible. He was also more emotionally intense than I anticipated, and many songs were so much more live than they were on the recording. So glad I caught this set.

What I'm wondering is how were you able to read what was written on every port-o before he went on? Did you even see any shows? But calling him a liar? You could very well be jumping to conclusions here. The guy sort of tells it how he sees it if you haven't noticed.

It's telling that this argument was never made before now in all the endless debates. Because you can damn well bet it woulda been brought up before now if the hate had preceded his terrible showing. you all would of made sure of it.

This awesome video paints a different picture of the rants. I really don't get how people can hear this and hear the emotion in his voice and just boo/hate on this. I put in bold some of the comments that people are completely ignoring. It was extremely postivie but the focus is on his couple of "angry" sounding parts. Listen to the cheers from this audience.

I think that was just a flub. They definitely didn't play 3 hours late but they played for about 3 hours. So I think he meant to say "Pearl Jam played late...they went 3 hours long" as opposed to the 2 hours that they were originally scheduled for.
