I haven't been around as much because work has been hell. It's only going to get worse from now through October, but I'll try to do better about getting on here at night. I also haven't posted much because this early in the game not much has been said or revealed, and I really don't have a clue who could be what. Was just waiting for the runoff to see what goes down then, because that's when people start getting more talkative.
Ok, so it turns out where I will be is indeed equipped with wifi, so I don't think my trip will cause much of a hold-up on my ability to check in on here. I'm also seconding (thirding??) those on the updated tally.

Ref's Notes - Wanting to start the runoff midday Sunday
Since I'm openly a proponent of the 3 person runoff I think we should get rid of someone. Obviously removing me from the runoff makes sense since I'm a townie, but I suppose that's a pointless attempt. Why is Linana in this runoff again? I'm not really sure why. If I had to pick 3 people of the 4 so far (not removing myself), I'd take Me, Mike D, and Bogart. Unfortunately, both Mike D and Bogart are voting for Linana so idk how much things will change. Just my two cents.
I'm with you on the 3person runoff. 4 people is too many. However, I dont have any input on who those 3 should be. dont really have any suspicions yet. but you're right, a 3 person is more telling than a 4 person

Reasoning for Jimmyroo - Jimmyroo was the first to propose we have a 3person runofff to a 4person, although this seems to be a better overall strategy for the townies I can't help but think that he could be mafia and wanting to save a possible mafia member. Now this is very weak reasoning and I'm definitely grabbing at straws but its the first day so very little to go off of.
Full disclosure to everyone. I wasn't really thinking when I signed up for this, I thought we were going to play before Roo and then when it got pushed back I didn't think it would be pushed back again. I am going to be out of town from July 3 - 13, in which I will be in Seattle. I will not have access to a phone from July 3rd to around the 8th (will be on the top of mount Rainier), and access from the 8th to 13th will be limited at best. I apoligize to the townies and I admit I should have thought this out more. I would say vote me out but I don't want to hurt the townies chance of winning. That being said if you guys want to vote me out I completely understand and will put a vote on myself.
Im sure Bogart isn't lying and will not have access to the internet for a few days. However, this is mafia and nothing can be taken at face value.
Again I know these are very circumstantial reasons, and I'm grabbing at straws but I have nothing else to go off. Plus I'm board and felt the need to post

Your absolutely right! I forgot jimmy questioned why linana was in the runoff. Although I don't have a clear read of jimmy this early in the game, to stay consistent with my logic a 3way should include jimmy & linana.

I know this might end up making me look like mafia, but outside the game I am very good friends with Bogart and he really will be scaling Mt. Rainier. Lucky bastard. But he always won't get the honor of being in my company next week when I go through the area.

This actually makes a great deal of sense, but with the votes on linana coming from others with 2 votes, is it really accomplishing anything? I mean, we should by all means have jimmy and linana in there, but for the 3rd we are going to be picking one of the two with votes on linana. It would be possible for a stack to be created on her as a cover for mafia, since anyone that observed last game can tell that she is easily set up (no offense linana!). Either way we go on the third, I'm pretty confident we will have a shot at having at least one mafia in there.

This seems to be dragging on and with nothing else to do we're all pulling at straws. Though I do agree a 4 person runoff is kind of pointless. So with that said, I'll go ahead and make this easy, and change my vote.
Something is definitely fishy here. Either Jimmyroo and Linana are mafia and he was trying to protect her, OR, the mafia are taking advantage of what Jimmyroo said and stacking on her.
Id definitely like to see Jimmyroo, Linana, and one of the people who stacked on Linana in the runoff. So for now I will be keeping my initial vote on Mike D since he was one of the linana voters.

Soooooo, Jimmy switched from Bogart that he claimed to have some good reasoning for, to Mike D, which would have ended any runoff, to me making a 4 person runoff which he has already said is not preferable... yeaaaaa, I'm going to keep my vote on Jimmy.

I think it is interesting that Bogart went from a solid 2 vote for over a day, only to end up with no votes and you being thrown in Ody. It is puzzling as to why jimmy switched not once but twice from someone that he actually had an inkling of suspicion about, and on his first change even admitting that he didn't buy that Mike D was mafia at all--I understand his moving of the vote to keep up with a runoff, but he could have just kept his vote as it was on Bogart and settled to see how things played out. Instead, he goes with placing a second vote and creating a 4 person runoff, which he has been openly critical of. Also, in my mind the confusion that multiple vote changes cause leans strongly in favor of mafia, and with so little to go on day 1 I cannot for the life of me see the reasoning unless there is real suspicion. With that:

I was mafia with Jimmy last game and so far his play does indicate that he's a townie. Not sure who I'm going to vote for but At this point I really think jimmy is a townie.

So basically when you are mafia you like to appear helpful and provide seemingly useful information, albeit vaguely incorrect, and when you are town you aspire to confuse the shit out of people with senseless voting and contradicting yourself every other post? In my limited experience and terrible misjudgement last game I haven't exactly picked up on all the nuances of the vet's playstyles..With the exception of Phi, because it is apparent he is horrible at this.

No, when I'm a townie I like to cause a shizstorm and then see how everyone reacts to it. It's usually very telling, even though I typically get killed off early when I'm a townie. After you kill me, make sure to go back in later rounds and see who is supporting my death. And also make sure to be suspicious of the people who are just hanging back and letting the ignorant townies vote me off.
I will agree that so far your playing style seems very different... IIRC last game you barely posted in the beginning and made different excuses about why you were busy. in fact, last game it wasn't until almost the end that I realized you were mafia, simply because you were the only person I never suspected.
that being said, why did you change your vote to create a 4-way runoff? I would like to hear the reason so I can decide whether I should change my vote.

-Jimmy's posts are confusing the heck out of me but I do see the point that he is playing differently this game. Could it be he is playing differently to throw us off his trail? Or is this really how he plays as a townie? I haven't been playing long enough to know for sure. I don't think making a 4 person runoff was exactly in the best interests of the town - he said so himself on the last page.
-While I understand Bogart voting for me since I voted for him, MikeD's vote for me was totally arbitrary. Almost *too* arbitrary. Mafia trying to stir the pot?
-And Ody is only suspicious to me because he's been so quiet; it reminds me of Jimmy in the last game (he was mafia).
So at this point I have 3 very different reasons to be suspicious of each of my runoff mates. As for me, well, I haven't really done anything so far but try to have a voting partner for the first round, try to pay attention to others, and most importantly try to survive day one. The only one who seems to be making surviving difficult for me is MikeD. After being killed off last round because I was set up by the mafia, I don't really appreciate being targeted. So with that said, right back atcha Mike.
