I'm not sure what to think at this point. Last game, Jimmy was mafia and I was a townie, and the mafia did a great job of setting me up to make me look like mafia, which got me voted off easily. Then, as more than one person has mentioned, I was arbitrarily (randomly, even!) put in this runoff. Not one person has given a good reason as to why I'm even in the runoff, even though there have been several reasons why the others raised suspicion. Yet Tejas goes and changes his vote to me, saying that out of the others, he thinks I am most likely to be mafia. Based on what???
Honestly this feels just like last time when I got set up. Maybe Jimmy is mafia and has been trying to make me look suspicious by bringing my name up and defending me in numerous posts. Maybe Tejas and Jimmy are mafia, and Tejas is trying to get me in a second runoff with Jimmy to try & keep Jimmy from being voted off.
I'm not totally sold on that theory, but I just wanted to make note of it for future reference. Maybe I'm wrong. Idk. The only thing I'm sure of is that changing my vote right now won't do any good because I'm already voting for MikeD, and the only other person who needs 1 more vote to get in the runoff is me, and I'm definitely not putting myself in there. Changing to Ody won't do any good since he only has 1 vote. Changing to Jimmy would likely ensure that he gets voted off, and I'd really like to see a 2 person runoff here. I'd also like to see MikeD last longer than day 1, after going back & reading several people say what a good player he is. Maybe he would speak up more on Day 2 and help us figure out who really is suspicious.
If someone else votes for Ody I will move my vote to him to try & get him in the runoff.
Linana its not that you did anything to make me suspicious, but out of Jimmy, MikeD, and you you did the least to try to prove that you were a townie in my eyes.

I'm also interested to hear the explanation. I was thinking about changing my vote but hadn't really been swayed either way... but it seems like a strange move to say you don't want Mike D voted off, then put him in the runoff with you.

Well I can say i didn't think it was going to come down to Jimmy and myself. I won't have much free time until later this evening but will go back and give my $1.09 on the situation.
I'm just checking in here, nothing to contribute at the moment because I'm mobile. A lot of activity has been going on, and as soon as I have access to my laptop this evening I will put down my thoughts, just don't want you all to think I forgot about you guys.
I read the whole thread and it seemed like everyone kept on egging Jimmy on. However, when I read jimmys post nothing popped out that seemed suspicious or really anything I should be concerned about. I can see his rational for voting for MikeD instead of linana .. However jimmy I will point out that Linana actually nulled her vote on Bogart and made it that much more difficult for him to be in the runoff. I find it odd that no one brought that up. Even though Me and ellabelle expressed that we would have wanted bogart in the runoff but just overlooked it.
To me I dont have a real conviction that MikeD is mafia, but Jimmy has posted a lot in this game and I cant see anywhere where hes tripped up or raised any flags.

After reading through I don't get the feeling either one of you is mafia, but when it comes to quite vs talkative (in a runoff) I tend to believe the talkative person more (yes I realize I am a quite player). Pending mike d's response I feel like I have no other choice.

@tejas, I only changed my vote from Bogart to Null because I thought it was the best thing to do in the interest of the town, since everyone was saying a 4 person runoff is a bad idea. I was just trying to help us get in a 3 person runoff since supposedly it is easier to pick out who is mafia in a 3 person runoff. At least that's what everyone kept saying.
I'm really looking forward to hearing Mike's response, because I really don't want to vote for him if he's a townie. I really only got suspicious of him in the first place because of his random vote for me, putting me in to the runoff. Like I said before, after the way I was killed last time, I don't like being singled out for no good reason. Other than that he's been fairly quiet, which apparently can be a sign of mafia, but apparently can also be a sign of MikeD in the first round. According to the general consensus, anyway.

The thing that stands out to me about Jimmy is his defense of me. I appreciate the thought, if you are a townie, and if you are a townie I do think that was a good strategy - to point out who was randomly putting me under fire. But if you are mafia, that is also a good way to set up a framing. So I'm not exactly trusting of you, just yet. I know I shouldn't harbor any bad feelings from a previous game but this is more of a "screw me once, shame on you; screw me twice, shame on me" kind of deal.
So when is the cutoff? I really need to take some time to go back and read, and figure out which of you I want to vote for.
Looking at who has stacked on who and who put who in the runoff:
Mike D stacked on Tejas - someone has to get things going Tejas stacked on Jimmy - doesn't recip on be but adds another to the runoff, this move leads me to believe he is most likely a townie
Possibility of Bogart protecting someone by not adding a third to the runoff with the last initial vote, votes Linana, playing it safe/trying to stay under the radar. This is a big part of why I switched to Linana later on. If Bogart is trying to play it safe and stay low key, a simple quick vote on a mafia partner could be a nice early distancing move.

So basically we have Mike D, Jimmy, Tejas, Ody, and NBF, who aren't afraid to get out there and make a move early in round 1. This leaves Phi, O'neil, Snakeface, Linana, Ella, and Bogart who have not had to/chosen not to do much with their vote.

Ella stacks on Jimmy Linana stacks Mike D Snakeface stacks Jimmy to 4, basically securing his spot in the next runoff for a very weak reason Tejas switches from Ody to Linana, essentially taking Ody out Jimmy picks me over Linana as his runoff opponent, due to being the only vote left on Ody - pretty reasonable red flag for me considering his earlier post about me. Judging by what he had been saying, why wouldn't you have chosen Linana? I don't necessarily agree that I am the best player here, you have proven to play this game very well, but you basically have ensured that (arguably) one of the 2 most experienced players is killed off in round 1 before it is even over.
Well shit I feel compelled to change my vote purely for the fact that Mike D could help the town so much. I'm gonna sleep on it and if I decide to change my vote I'll make sure to do so before the deadline.

again just want to point out how quiet snakeface and nbf are being. this has me a little worried we have 2 townies in the runoff. typically when we have a mafia in the runoff there will be TONS of discussions and people attempting to sway others votes.

This won't mean anything I'm sure, but I've just been in band practice pretty much all day, as far as my not posting goes. Never played before and this is my first runoff. Just trying to get used to way this ends up working
in case anyone is wondering, I've been cleaning my laundry room. don't have anything constructive to add to the conversation at this point- I already voiced my confusion, as others have mentioned, about why jimmy threw Mike D in the runoff with him instead of linana. Jimmy replied he thinks Mike D is more likely mafia than linana. I don't really agree with that at this point, if for no other reason than Mike has gone into more of a vote/player analysis. linana posted more intially but aside from one post exploring some possiblities, I think most of them were just saying she felt like she was being set up.
of course it's a moot point now since it has come down to Mike D and jimmy. for now I'm keeping my vote as is, but I'm open to change depending on how things shake out tomorrow.

I'm not inspector. I just genuinely believe there is a greater chance that Mike D is mafia than Linana. I also can't find a single reason to vote for her besides something involving me. Since I know I'm a townie, I know that reason (the only conceivable reason at this point) to vote for Linana is complete BS.
ALSO, you all need to stop looking at me as defending Linana and start seeing it as me calling out the people arbitrarily voting for her (Mike D, Tejas, Bogart).
Mike D's post was also too cryptic for my taste. I feel like he's usually clearer and more helpful. I also don't like that he's insinuating that I'm mafia w/ Linana...since I know I'm a townie.
Voting for Mike D is a conflict for me. Like I said previously he's a good player on both sides, and I don't like to kill him early. But sometimes you just need to go with your gut.

I don't necessarily think the content of the posts makes either one more or less likely to be mafia. I was thinking more that Mike D could be more helpful for the town either way if he provides more analysis. (meaning, more helpful than linana, which again is not relevant right this minute. I don't know how Mike and jimmy compare as townies, in terms of providing a lot of help for the town. it seems they are both considered pretty strong.)

Jimmy, I still don't get where the "if you vote for linana you must be mafia" idea comes from. How do you know she isn't mafia? Because we chose not to stack? Did you ever think I just put a vote out there (like I normally do)? Instead it seems like you instantly pegged me as mafia along with mine d and have been running with that ever since.
