Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I know it's a month late and I can't believe no one ever made a thread about them. Does anyone else agree that this was easily the craziest show of the weekend? Tyler and Josh sure do know how to put on a show. It was mind-blowing. I can honestly say I was a fan of theirs before Roo, but now I'm a pretty devoted fan. I'd totally be fine with them playing Bonnaroo every year!
That show was definitely a good way to get the party started on Thursday. Good crowd interaction, too, with the drumming up on top of the platforms and such.
Yeah blew our minds. We loved Vessel especially before leaving for Roo, but just the way it was performed has for ever changed that album for us. The part in Fake You Out where the song goes "Woooooooooooossssshhhhh" and he jumped over the piano (One of a few times). I have yet to listen to that song since and not just picture that amazing slow motion of him flying over the piano. Best show for us outside of Macca.. Was just so damn good. Considering Vegas now just to catch them again before year end... The audio rip in the audio thread is spectacular. Teared up the first time thru it again more then once.
Really if you loved it like we loved it get the audio rip or PM me and i'll share a copy of it. Best souvenir i could ever ask for.
Also interesting start for us because it was our first Roo. Camped up near the rail thru all of Step Kids and was hot and like "meh" and we felt like Step Kids was trying too hard. Then 21 came on and just tore it up from beginning to end and really set the tone for the weekend of awesomeness. Left the tent drenched in sweat smiling ear to ear.

I'm seeing them again in Atlanta when they open for Fall Out Boy, not even sure if I'm going to stay for that. But the three hour drive to Atlanta seems worth it. I've been to a lot of concerts in my life and I've never seen anyone convey the emotion Twenty One Pilots did
@rjsonbeek15 yeah they are opening for Fallout Boy here in Colorado too. But I watched an interview with them about when they headline compared to when they open and that made me nervous that I'd just be very let down. But I may still jump on it for a taste of 21 and just come to grips they are opening. SO wish they were just HLing.

Saw them at roo but was too far back to enjoy the show.. saw them this past weekend at bunbury and they were great. High energy and kept the crowd goin. The singer scaled the stage(about 40-50ft off the ground) to finish off car radio, ppl went nuts. Good show, deff want to see them again

His drummer seemed nervous when he climbed the stage.
My favorite part was the playing of the bass drums while standing on, not in the crowd. Awesome
This is the epitome of why I haven't been to Bonnaroo in 4 years, can't believe this shizz is even allowed on the farm. I could go on and on, but I'll spare you.

Please explain Alpaca. You have 4 posts. 3 of them consist of you going into an individual bands thread and stating how awful they are.
The best part of their songs is the pre-recorded music that they aren't even playing. They're overall sound is really cheesy, like it was made for a twelve year old to listen to/like. It bothers me when people talk about bands, who are mediocre at best, being the best thing since sliced bread. The best two shows of the weekend were Macca and twenty one pilots??? How sad! Looks like they try to put on a good show, it just seems like they belong playing at local shizzy radio fest or Six Flags. I guess I'm trolling, but I'm really just trying bring people back down to planet Earth.

Thanks. Most are ok with honest opinions good or bad. We all have them. But telling them their opinion is sad or "bringing them back down to earth" will only lead to arguments. Most of the time.
This was the first show we saw at Bonnaroo and we couldn't have asked for a better start to the week. I knew a little bit about them and I was looking at their show as the make or break for me. Needless to say, I have since bought Vessel and it's become one of my favorites. Unbelievable performance. They definitely gave it their all. This was the first concert one of my friends had ever been too and it couldn't of been more perfect. Really set the tone for the rest of the week for me.

If you associate Twenty One Pilots with mediocre I don't think you have listened to them. And what's wrong with Paul McCartney being the best show? Possibly the greatest musician of all time not good enough for you?

Yeah me too! I personally think we'll have to wait for their follow up album for them to have a HL tour. They've played every festival under the sun this year, and now are going on tour with FOB, after that they'll probably be heading back to the studio. I really hope I'm wrong
I believe the point he was trying to make was when @nthingtolose said those were his two favorite shows, and in alpaca's opinion, that's comparing the very best to the opposite of the very best.

I think they will ride Vessel longer. It is their first studio recorded album, has a record label behind it and it is getting them a lot of attention. I think they will do another whole round on this album next summer and I bet they include a few more songs from their previous albums as well. But again just guessing wildly.
They are literally on the radio out here everyday now.
Another album or a tour. Either way win win

I personally think this is an extremely mediocre/poppy act that put on a very enjoyable show. I had a lotta fun, but I definitely haven't listened to them outside of a couple songs since roo and don't plan to.

i respect your opinion, but i don't think you've given them a fair chance if you think their lyrics are cheesy. i know this is an old thread so i may not receive an answer. But, what lyrics do you have in mind that deserve the label "cheesy"?

he means u2 lyrics are an example of cheesy lyrics im assuming. (which i agree with completely)
My roomates Mom usually gets him some good books in the genre of music bios. This year he got "The Meaning Behind Every U2 song". Needless to say thats not getting read anytime soon.

I didn't see this thread last year and after reading it I am kind of surprised it didn't get more attention. The thread was made to discuss their show from last year and yet we get these DBs that just want to pop into every thread and say the artist is bad lol that drives me nuts.
Looks like everyone that saw the show enjoyed it. I'm a pretty big fan of their music, but was blown away by the intensity of the show. I was up kinda close and had a blast. This was a top show for me from last year...not close to my favorite of the weekend, but still a great show. I wish every Thursday gave me something I enjoyed that much.
I agree they have a pop feel to them, but I enjoy the way they mix the rap and singing together. I don't feel like they lyrics are cheesy overall....maybe some of the songs, but the album in its entirety isn't cheesy in my opinion. I'd love to have them back again. Especially if they had some new material...maybe next year.
I went to high school with a guy who tours with them and does a lot of their stage setup. I am trying to get ahold of him to see if they will be there again this year. Hopefully I can but I don't have anyway to get ahold of him except on Facebook which he doesn't get on much. We will see. I had a lot of fun at their show last year so I am hoping for a return.
Last year was my first roo with a bunch of my friends. We caught this show as we were walking around checking everything out and stayed until the end. These guys put on a great show that was one of the highlights of my weekend. Whether you like their music or not you cannot deny that they had a great performance and put in everything they had. Whether you like their music or not you can't say that isnt true. I had never heard any of their music before and they immediately drew me in.
