I don't know. If you stop to think about it, maybe it really is that Mike D was just killed off because of experience level. There are several people in this game that haven't been around for a while, and played quite a bit during the "Mike D is mafia" or "Mike D will figure it all out Day 2" phase. Could be some of the older vets are just falling back on what they are used to, whacking him in the beginning.
Hakuna, when it comes to playing mafia, you should already know that the obvious route to take is usually going to send you in the wrong direction...Last game I managed to go through the entire thing without a single vote, and Mike was understandably a little burned--I knew that was why he wanted to see me in a runoff, and was completely cool with such. Maybe a little reading would serve you well.
while I think it's unlikely Mike was inspector, and doubt that if he was he would have voted for the name he was given, I suppose it's always possible. or at least, that mafia assumed he might be inspector based on his vote. I still feel it's more likely just that he's a strong player though.
basically at this point there hasn't been enough discussion for me to vote yet. I am interested in LD's reason for voting for me though- just because I created a 4-person runoff, which I already said wasn't a great move? if so, that's fine. obviously I know I'm not mafia but no one else knows that except the actual mafia members.
also, it's hard for me to get a read on some of the people I've never played with, like Phi calling out No Age for being quiet- I don't know if that's just playing style, or trying to stay under the radar.
On that note, LD, care to shed any light on the immediate vote for O'Neil without an explanation? I understand that you two were VP's for the beginning of Day 1, is this just a placeholder vote for now? Or do you have any additional reason or logic regarding the vote?
I'm traveling for the next two weeks, so I might take a little longer to respond.
Sorry about being quiet. I've been on a business trip since last Wednesday. I'm reading over the thread now and will cast a vote.
totally missed that first post, my bad. guess I should go back and read through everything. on the other hand, being out of town or busy has been used as an excuse by mafia before, FWIW

I actually posted that in the signup thread before roles were assigned.
Ok, I am going to make my first educated vote of the round (and by educated, I just mean somewhat thought out).
NoAge > Duddits
The reason I am voting for Duddits is because of a post a few pages back where he calls out Pepe for changing votes several times. Where as I do agree that Pepe had somewhat erratic voting, I think Duddits was trying to cast suspicion on him. Just my 2 cents.

I can respect that vote, for a few reasons. I did ask Pepe to clarify his vote changes, also for a few reasons. Namely, in the first Runoff he had changed his vote within an hour which always sticks out for me when I play this game, it's just very odd and off putting for me to see that happen. It's either because of premature thoughts put into action, or its to confuse and create chaos. As a townie, when I see someone do that so early on in the game, I can only assume that its one or the other, and rightfully so I feel the need to ask that person to clarify their intentions, even though let's be honest they could be lying their donkey's off about their intentions.
So Pepe did just that, he further explained that he went back to Ella from Bogart after looking back at Bogart's actions from the prior game of Mafia. I can't and couldn't discredit that logic as being suspicious, as I can see that as a valid reason to make a vote change in a runoff. For all I know Pepe is a Townie and he was going off of his gut. I wasn't so much trying to cast suspicion on Pepe so much as just asking to clarify his logic. I just did the same with El-D this round only because he immediately put a vote on O'Neil without any immediate explanation or follow-up. But, he did eventually let us know that it's just a placeholder vote on O'Neil for now which I don't necessarily agree with as a great Townie tactic, but whatever, it is what it is.
Ok, I'll admit, I still haven't reread the past few pages yet. I previously was set on voting Pepe this round, but as the last day unfolded, I decided against it. Therefore, I am going to place a vote for someone who is under the radar. He's posting but usually nothing too substantial- therefore making his name seen without causing a scene.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Thanks for the good explanation. I definitely can see some logic behind what you are saying. I'm keeping my vote where it is for now, but it is by no means unchangeable.

ya know, I do find it a little strange that Pepe would go back and read a previous game to try to figure out what bogart was doing this game. so when you say you don't find that suspicious, I don't know- I kind of do. I can see the benefit in being familiar with someone's playing style, as I've said but that seems a bit much. maybe he did have valid reasons but I do think the switching was suspect. and instead of it making me focus on Ella maybe I should have focused more on Pepe.
so for now, without anything else really jumping out:
o'neil>> Pepe
this is by no means locked in but I feel like we need to get things moving. quiet rounds are better for mafia.
I'm voting for Pepe to be in a Runoff, he has been absent all of Day 2 so far and that strikes me as odd. He hasn't chimed in on anything that took place in Night 1, the end of the Day 1 Runoff, or Day 2. I know this could be viewed as suspicious on my end/stacking/etc, and he may very well busy with the outside world, but as of right now he is the person I find most suspicious out of anyone. I don't think its wise to add another person up there with just one vote for them, we will eventually have to get this going into a runoff.
The fact that we've had 6 votes this round and not a single stack is telling. I'd bet that 2 mafia members have already voted. Which means that 1 mafia member that not voted. I know I'm not mafia so that leaves either Ella or Duddits.
Pepe Silvia > Ella
Ella's been pretty quiet and contributed not too much this round. So she gets my vote over Duddits.
Edit: When I posted this I didnt see Duddits voted for me. But I still stand by my vote.
You're just too young to grasp how stylin' I really was. All the boys wanted to do me when I was 5. Actually the girls did too. My haircut was confusing.

where are you coming up with 2 mafia members have already voted and one hasn't? just curious as to where you are getting those estimates.... also, I get that you can be in the middle of a post and not see the previous one but I think it's odd that you hadn't seen that post and just happened to chime in after you got called out for being quiet.
o'neil, My assumption that two mafia members have already voted is based off the usual mafia tactic. 2 members are closer to each other and the 3rd member is usually distant. So its not too far of a stretch to think that 2 members have voted and the 3rd member was sitting back to see how the stacking goes so he/she has more influence.
And I'm not too sure how to respond to your claim of it being odd. I just happen to be in the middle of a post.

First off, I didn't find it odd really that anyone has been quiet the past couple of days. Weekends do get rather busy, and many of us are away from our computers. Pepe, I think that you are reaching just a bit with your theory on who voted when vs. their alignment, especially when you were so late to the Day 2 game yourself. Other mafia 'methods' also include multiple vote changes Day 1 and throwing out names to cast suspicion..just saying.
I really don't want to just end this round with so many of us gone during the weekend and not as talkative as we are during the week, and we really could do something productive in the next day to actually find the mafia. My gut instinct would be to vote o'neil for the 4 person runoff bit, but that also is not going to get us anywhere since she admittedly was unhappy with the decision to do so and I don't want to run into the trap of having the same people in the runoff over and over again. Unfortunately, I don't really like the available options, and will get to the game quicker next round if I am still around so I'm not put in this position anymore.
