Makes sense. Imagine Dragons were on the lineup last year but were taken off pretty quickly due to "scheduling conflicts." Besides Passion Pit they were the only band that was going to repeat from 2012.
Just out of curiosity, have you been to a Bjork show? I was only introduced to her music before last year's Roo, and her show was my favorite of the weekend. I'm thinking about doing Firefly instead of Roo this year because it's closer, and if she were there it would absolutely be a decision maker for me. Unfortunately, I highly doubt she'll be there.
I have not. So I probably shouldn't be so dismissive! I think I was just taken back when I saw that poster
We attended Firefly both years, the first was amazing and they really hit it out of the park, last year it crashed and burned.
After attending the first year we thought we might never attend Bonnaroo again. Fireflly is 150 miles from home and Bonnarooo is 850 miles. But that was not the deal breaker, personally we think the staff last year (2013) at Firefly was just not in to it compared to the first year (2012). The security checks made you feel like a criminal, heck they even confiscated some strawberries my Wife had along with sunscreen. Then there was the crowd, it was packed last year. I know the first year they had something like 30K people the first year but last year it was way too many people and all of the supporting logistics suffered. Water stations, vendors, etc. Did I mention getting parked? We arrived at the Dover Mall / Casino at 6AM, we were finally parked at around 9 AM. Over three hours to drive .8 (as in eight tenths) of a mile. No one had a clue.
Again this is our thoughts from our experiences and from that we will not attend Firefly for a while. Maybe in a couple of years but when business get too bog too quick they usually fail.

Best of everything to all who are attending.
Interesting, I thought last year was logistically much better than year 1.. Larger space on the main grounds, I thought the security was a joke (my girlfriend had a stuffed animal in her bag and when they searched her they saw it and laughed and just told her to move along without even looking), and unlike year 1 which only went until 11 pm it went until 2 am which I loved because I think late nights are the best part of festivals... I know the traffic on the first day was terrible, but I got there the night before so didn't experience any of that.

I'll be driving into Delaware on Thursday, hoping relatively early. Planning on camping and i'd like to know what everyones experience is with getting in and out of the campsites. I'd imagine the traffic is crazy. Any advice?

Have some fun topics in mind to discuss with the people in your car and a good playlist running over your car's soundsystem as you wait in the traffic =)

Gaga definitely makes sense, but aren't KOL ruled out because they'll be in the UK? Foo's are definitely a good fit, any reason in particular you'd expect them there?

I'm just blindly guessing for fun! Not basing it off of anything. I did volunteer the first year and made facebook friends with a couple of Red Frog people. But it would be too weird to contact them out of the blue trying to fleece info that I'm not so sure they would even be privy to. The lineup clues will be out tomorrow and I'm pretty excited to see what they have in store

I see. Do you think there's much chance of OutKast, or do you think that's a pipe dream?

Definitely a pipe dream and not happening... NYC is only a 2 hour drive from Dover, if you have your heart set on seeing Outkast you should attend Governors Ball!

There were a lot of artists who did Firefly right after Governor's ball last year. I think there's still a chance.

Firefly Music Fesitival 2014 Lineup Coming Soon! Well, Firefly Fans, it is officially the new year which means the 2014 Firefly lineup will be here before you know it.
To make the wait a bit more exciting we will be releasing six #FirefyLineup clues via our Twitter page that will send fans on an east coast scavenger hunt this Sunday, January 12, 2014. The first person to find each hidden clue will win two VIP tickets to Firefly Music Festival 2014 in Dover, DE on June 19-22, 2014. That's right, we will be giving out a total of twelve VIP tickets!
How It Works The only way to find each clue location is to tweet #FireflyLineup. The more times that #FireflyLineup is tweeted, the closer the map will zoom towards the hidden clues. The first fan to find each clue at its physical location and tweet a picture of it, with the hashtag #FireflyLineup will win a pair of VIP tickets to Firefly Music Festival 2014*. It's that simple.
Each clue and the location it is found at represents a band that will be performing at Firefly 2014**. Can you figure out who it is?
For full rules and to watch the fun please visit our FACEBOOK and TWITTER pages.
*Must be at least eighteen (18) years old to enter **no prizes will be awarded for identifying the band(s) relating to the clues.
Let the Countdown Begin.
Love how they misspell Festival in the very first line.
I don't know how well this is working out for them.
Hating how they decided to only show the location of one clue at a time. Having to wait until someone finds a clue in a totally different region, in the hopes that eventually one might pop up close to me is very lame =/

Plus the fact it takes several hours to zoom in enough for people to find a clue means it'll be 2am before they finish this.

What would be even worse would be the 6 acts that we're hinted towards not being that great. I hope we at least get just one headliner out of all this!
Twenty One Pilots... It's funny that when the map zoomed into the Dover Airforce Base about 5 different people on Facebook said Twenty One Pilots sarcastically.

Don't think it was sarcastic. They were the best act in 2013. Glad to see them back.
Well I mean I took it as being sarcastic in a way that's mocking the way Firefly is handling these clues. Not saying anything of the artist themselves.

What's the link? I don't know anything about these guys either.

The video I posted? They have a song called Guns for Hands.
