Apparently Hardwell is the leading guess. Or Foo Fighters.
Can you camp at this thing? What about for just a day or two? I doubt this fest will be able to grab my full attention, but I'm hopeful for 1 pop headliner I'd like.

You can camp but you need to buy a camping pass, like you would at Coach or a zillion other fests.

Yup Camping is an additional fee though. Like 250-300 for a 4 person spot. Last year I just got a hotel down the road and walked in each morning. It was cheaper and I'd probably go that route again. Pretty sure single day is available down the road, a friend of mine showed up for Sunday last year and I really doubt he paid for a 3 day.

Right, but do you need a three day ticket as well as a camping pass, or can I buy tickets for Saturday/Sunday and camp overnight? I don't know if it'd make any sense to actually do that, just wondering.

Can't answer that, but when I went in 2012 we just went for the day and stayed in a hotel. There were a bunch really close and If I remember right pretty reasonable.

If you get a single day ticket I'm pretty positive it won't include camping.. If I were you I'd probably either go for the hotel, find somebody who already is camping so you can just jump in undetected, or a lot of people last year paid $20 to park by the speedway and slept in their car. The camping grounds are very close by so they had access to showers and portajohns and such.

Thanks, but I'm a little old for that shit. This fest is just totally borderline for me, a little too far, cheap but not quite cheap enough, serviceable line up but not that great. I do have a friend who works at Dogfishhead though, so maybe I can get some freebies out of the deal to make it worth it.

The UFO clue just has to be the mighty Foo. Seriously! They've been heavily rumoured and it's almost painfully obvious. If it's not, that's a huge dick move on the part of whoever decided that to be the clue.
The last clue: 'Dolly, Anna, Felix, Tuffy' is apparently the name of the elephants at the Baltimore zoo, where the clue was, which would be Cage The Elephant.
We attended Firefly both years, the first was amazing and they really hit it out of the park, last year it crashed and burned.
After attending the first year we thought we might never attend Bonnaroo again. Fireflly is 150 miles from home and Bonnarooo is 850 miles. But that was not the deal breaker, personally we think the staff last year (2013) at Firefly was just not in to it compared to the first year (2012). The security checks made you feel like a criminal, heck they even confiscated some strawberries my Wife had along with sunscreen. Then there was the crowd, it was packed last year. I know the first year they had something like 30K people the first year but last year it was way too many people and all of the supporting logistics suffered. Water stations, vendors, etc. Did I mention getting parked? We arrived at the Dover Mall / Casino at 6AM, we were finally parked at around 9 AM. Over three hours to drive .8 (as in eight tenths) of a mile. No one had a clue.
Again this is our thoughts from our experiences and from that we will not attend Firefly for a while. Maybe in a couple of years but when business get too bog too quick they usually fail.
Best of everything to all who are attending.
I'll be driving into Delaware on Thursday, hoping relatively early. Planning on camping and i'd like to know what everyones experience is with getting in and out of the campsites. I'd imagine the traffic is crazy. Any advice?
I have no good advice. We arrived early last year and did not get the results. I hear that in 2014 the festival will be opening on Thursday, will this ease the traffic or just make the congestion a day earlier? Who knows.
With attending any event plan on being as early as you possibly can.
Last year I had a hotel so arrived on Thursday night and just walked in, avoiding all traffic... If I attend again this year I'll most likely stick with that method.
I did "Front Row Camping" last year which is known as "Premier Camping" which i also bought again during Presale. Maybe this is why I had a better time than many others seemed to last year. You are camped right outside the festival entrances which makes for a much easier time going in/out during the day without an excessive walk. You also get to camp a day early and deal with little to no traffic. Last year I literally pulled right in with no wait at all and set up about 100 yards from the festival gates so i'd recommend it to anyone planning on attending this year. It will likely sell out quick.
Inside I dealt with the usual crowd issues but nothing that I thought was unacceptable
im from Philly so Deleware isnt all that far from me and i really wanted to hit up at least a day for FF last year but there was just too much carry over from the Hangout when i was there and the schedule had all the artists i saw spread on different days so i couldnt convince myself to go for it. I was hoping most of who i already saw would be on the same day and now im hoping the same thing doesnt happen again this year. If Foo headlines and Arctic Monkeys are the same day i think thats already good enough for me
At this point, with 40 festivals to play, my only argument as to why Outkast would not be at FF is if there's some sort of proximity clause that would prevent a band from headlining both Governor's Ball and Firefly
But it would make sense for Outkast to play Hangout -> Gov Ball -> Bonnaroo -> Firefly (and then maybe take off to Europe until Lolla, Osheaga, and Made In America).

Its certainly not impossible, but it's just logistically backwards. Instead of going Alabama -> NYC -> Tennessee -> Delaware, it would make much more sense for them to just run a proper tour and hit up whatever festivals along the way. I don't know.

I'd just stay in a hotel. I did that the last two years and it was very convenient. Especially since last year was the weekend after Roo, it was a nice change of pace. All the hotels are within walking distance to the fest grounds and there are a bunch of fast food joints to grab something to eat on your walk back.
So i found a way to confirm individual artists fireflyfestival.com/lineup/ add the artist name to the end of lineup and click enter. I.e fireflyfestival.com/lineup/outkast it’ll redirect to fireflyfestival.com/artist/ whoever for those confirmed playing it will stay as lineup and just say page not found for bands not playing. Start working asap before they take it down! For bands with more than one word just use a dash ie. cage-the-elephant
Who i’ve confirmed thus far
Outkast, Foo Fighters, Haim, Arctic Monkeys, Ms. Mr, Childish Gambino, A Trak, Jack Johnson, White Panda, Sleigh Bells
So looks like the 3 headliners are Outkast, Foo Fighters, and Jack Johnson- not too shabby
