This is the most top-heavy lineup I've ever seen. It's pretty clear they blew their load on the top half of the poster.. Aside from White Denim I'm struggling to find anyone I'd want to see on the bottom half
Bottom half is pretty stacked imo
I agree with this. Bottom half is better than top half (relatively speaking). Sky Ferreira, Kodaline, White Denim, Geographer, Courtney Barnett, Shakey Graves, Wild Feathers, Haerts, Magic Man, Sleeper Agent, Gregory Alan Isakov, Cherub, and I'm sure there are quite a few I don't know about.

High highs, Gemini club, griswolds, little daylight, bronze radio return, x ambassadors, misterwives, hunter hunted, basic vacation, Vance joy, royal teeth, magic man, the colourist, geographer, cherub, nonono, sir sly, kodaline, smallpools, American authors, phantogram. Stacked lower undercard
It's about as boring of a lineup as you can get. But it's not bad, and I may end up going. A few guilty pleasures and some bands I haven't seen before but have really wanted to (Arctic Monkeys, Band of Horses, Jake Bugg, Portugal the Man)

Genuinely asking, who towards the bottom half are you excited to see? I didn't even recognize a decent amount of the names, which is kind of unusual.
It's a decent line up in terms of band recognition. I don't start seeing bands I've never heard off till line 12, which is unusual. It's not incredibly boring, just no big WOW names. I'd still go....

This lineup is so good it disgusts me. Firefly just rocketed into possible 2nd festival for me. There are bands from top to bottom on that lineup I would love to see!
10/19/14-Phantogram
11/29/14-New Politics, Bad Suns
4/17/15-Hippo Campus, Night Riots, The Mowglis
5/1/15-Penn State Movin' On Music Festival-New Politics, Passion Pit, Big Gigantic, Big Sean
6/11/15-6/14/15-Bonnaroo!
6/21/15 - Paul McCartney
6/27/15-Halsey, Imagine Dragons

Not sure why anyone is hating on this lineup. It actually crushes the market their going for. The undercard is actually really good, despite fucking Martin Garixx.

I'm a big fan of Phantogram, and I am familiar with royal teeth, geographer, cherub, and sir sly; but I've never even heard of the other bands. I'm not saying that means anything, they could very well all be solid acts that I've never listened to. I just thought it was a little strange since I'm usually familiar with bands at the bottom of most lineups.

Really hoping Hangout or Governors Ball can provide something better than this. My mind is just stuck on JJ even though Foos and Outkast are there. I do like the undercard but with Phoenix and Outkast at GovBall my money might be going to them.

Mainly different types of up and coming smaller alternative bands, some synth pop some are alt folk like Vance joy and kodaline.

Its funny how people are having polar opposite reactions to the lineup. Firefly is a new festival, and its gonna take a few years before it becomes a Coach/Lolla/Roo caliber festival. For Firefly standards this is a really good lineup. I think im sold on skipping bonnaroo this year to make this easier trip. We'll find out in a few weeks time, but something tells me this is one of the few (if not only) US festival Foo Fighters will do this year. The only complaint I have so far is that for a 4 day festival, that lineup looks kinda short.

Being from the North East, Firefly always takes away a good 1/4 of my Roocrew when the lineup drops. This is actually a very good lineup if you look at it from the eyes of people who have to take a whole week off to travel 13 hours to Tenn. But while Foos, Outkast, and Pretty Lights are great, but Foos will end up touring, PL could be at Made and was in the area a few times in past year, and Outkast is going to be all over the place. Minus that, its all a bunch of Roos sloppy seconds like always.

Oh, for the casual "not going to travel more than 2 hours from where I live" festival fan? It's perfect. Lots of faux-indie radio stuff that kids in neon sunglasses go wild for. It's just boring as hell. Aside from Outkast (and, weirdly and randomly, Son Lux) there's nothing even remotely interesting on here, and no bands that haven't been everywhere over the past 12 months.
Courtney Barnett and James Blake tho. They seem so random on this linep

Well since you're only about 2 hours away, you're welcome to join our crew!

Let me just say that I do think this is a solid lineup, and pretty much what I expected for Firefly. I am more than capable of recognizing the distinction between a top tier fest, and a growing fest such as Firefly. My main point is that I think they allocated more money towards the top of the lineup than in years past, and in doing so the undercard suffered a bit (by undercard I'm referring to the bottom ~8 lines of the poster, not "anything but a headliner"). I know the 4 day expansion plays a role, but last year's lineup had Earl Sweat on the last line.
If you're going to this, DO NOT SLEEP on Pigpen Theatre Co. They are fantastic. Probably won't be one of their cool storytelling performances and more of a set but it's a great band.
"You look like you're listening to every note." - Lady to me during LCD's "final" show 2023: Mar 29 - Guster Apr 6 - Postmodern Jukebox Apr 26 - Father John Misty May 14 - Taylor Swift (Philly) May 17 - Robert Plant and Alison Krauss July 12 - moe. July 16 - CAKE (Portland, ME) July 28-30 - Newport Folk (#12!) Dec 8-9 - Goosemas!

I see what you're saying. Last years undercard was the best I've seen.
But Firefly is clearly trying to join the big boys, and you do that by stacking the top of the lineup.

I went to the first two years of this fest and the lineup most definitely caters to the crowd. It has something for everyone and continues to do an impressive job booking bands in only its third year. To me the biggest disappointment is a band like Imagine Dragons being billed #4. Its a big step down from Vampire Weekend last year, who closed out the 2nd biggest stage on Sunday. They could have benefited from a band like Phoenix, QOTSA or Beck who was originally rumored.

Ive been to Lollapalooza and Governors Ball, which had a 10pm and 11pm curfew, respectively. Whats the curfew at Firefly? I thought I read that it was like 2am, which if true is fine by me.
