Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Had to run a quick errand today.. heard Vance Joy Riptide (again..) on the way. Will he be this years Frank Turner? He will be in the states in early June - only listng for the states is 2 shows? then a big gap in June/july/august. Yet to be announced festies?
He's announced for the Field Trip festival (Toronto early June) and Firefly (Delaware late June). Nothing yet for July, but I think it's possible though that he'll play Newport.
Foy Vance is also touring this summer; could we see Vance Joy and Foy Vance both at Newport and then I can be continuously confused?
On a similar note, I am also really surprised Passenger hasn't been booked for every single festival this summer. I could see Newport trying to grab Passenger to get a more mainstream act (like Lumineers last year).

I'm sick of it now, but I cannot lie.. I love his voice and was really feeling Let Her Go for a while. My best friend hasn't gotten sick of it yet and still plays it non-stop too.

Finally an act I couldn't care less about. I need some more of these to lessen the schedule sting.
Yea, I like one of their albums that I have but wasn't impressed at their Roo show. I'll give 'em a chance if there's no conflict at NFF but I'm sure I'll find something else.
Don't you think BOH is a headliner? They are at least a pre-headliner. If they play an acoustic set it'll probably be pretty good. I saw them a bunch of times during their tours for their first 2 albums. Not a fan of their albums after that, but they're solid.

I didn't picture them as a headliner but I could be wrong. Was thinking Pre-headliner but since the Avetts headlined last year I guess BOH could be one of the headliners.

Probably the Friday headliner but I'll be at their show regardless. If they're not the headliner then Friday will be quite a show. I like what I heard from the Ryman show and figure it should be comparable for NFF.
I am still almost willing to make a beer bet that they're subbing (or maybe co-headlining). I thought for sure Feist was the headliner last year, and then they announced Old Crow. I know it's tough to compare apples and oranges, but look how low Band of Horses was billed at Coachella in 2013; below Tegan and Sara who didn't headline NFF when they played. Beyond that, it seems a little too early for NFF to be revealing their biggest names; we had to wait a lot longer to find out the first of the headliners last year. And if I recall, the introductions for the headliners last year were written by people affiliated with NFF and/or specifically mentioned that the act was the headliner.

But I am really excited for BoH! They're one of those bands that continuously eludes me at festivals, and I regret not paying to see them last time their tour came through my neck of the woods. I was a big fan for a while, and while I don't love their newer albums, there are some jams on them (Knock Knock and Dilly come to mind).
Also, since we're on Inforoo, here are some possibilities for overlap between Bonnaroo and Newport (lots of "folk" at Bonnaroo!):
Jack White Avett Brothers Ed Helms The Head and the Heart Tedeschi Trucks Band Ben Howard Amos Lee Andrew Bird & The Hands of Glory Jake Bugg Dr. Dog Yonder Mountain String Band John Butler Trio City and Colour Phosphorescent Drive By Truckers Seasick Steve Shovels & Rope Lucero Caroline Chocolate Drops The Wood Brothers Blackberry Smoke First Aid Kit Greensky Bluegrass Sarah Jarosz Vintage Trouble Okkervil River Jonathan Wilson Typhoon Valerie June The Lone Bellow Vance Joy J. Roddy Walston and the Business Lake Street Dive St. Paul and the Broken Bones The Wild Feathers

I saw them twice two years ago and found them really boring. To be fair they were smack dab right between Trombone Shorty and My Morning Jacket so a mellower act was somewhat bound to fail.
I guess it can't be counted as official since it's not out of Newport's mouth.
Thanks for the info. I'll buy it now; glad nobody took me up on that beer bet! Although, NFF did call Feist a headliner last year, so I still would not be surprised if BOH ended up in her spot (or another big act gets added to Friday and ends up in her spot)
As much as I like BOH, I'm really hoping for some high energy closers like last year.

I'd like to see the Hard Working Americans get booked on the lineup. I just got an e-mail about them and they said: So, what’s next? The band is heading into the studio next week to start recording the follow-up album, and planning a Summer Tour for late July. We hope you're ready!
Late July huh? Please make it happen. If you haven't checked them out there's some good stuff on Youtube. It's a side-group for a lot of talented guys: Todd Snider, Dave Schools, Neal Casal, Chad Staehly, Duane Trucks.

You're 100% right BOH is in the Feist slot. she was announced early last year as well. There will be another artist after them on Friday

Big fan of the Hard Working Americans album. Hoping to catch them somewhere this year.
Any while I could see why BOH could be boring in some circumstances, I saw them play a Lollapalooza after show in 2009 and it was high energy and a great show. So they are definitely capable.
