I am pretty set on making the trip happen again next year.
I'm hoping that NFF will be able to bring back some of the acts from the 2012 lineup: First Aid Kit, Tallest Man on Earth, Dawes, and Head and the Heart. Also on my wishlist is Paul Simon, Ryan Adams, John Fogerty, Jake Bugg, and Monsters of Folk.

Oh yes please!
K2... How was Edward S? Had a slight interest in the last few years.. this year hearing so much that catches my ear every time.
How could I forget Trampled by Turtles? Yes, TbT as well!
I posted on NFF's Facebook page requesting Paul Simon and Ryan Adams. Their response:
"we've tried on both. Paul wants a lot of dough and Ryan doesn't like to play outdoors, doesn't like festivals, and doesn't like to play during the day."
(although, I wonder if Ryan's response was pre-sober or post-sober)

Interesting response from them. I guess now we know why they haven't been/likely won't be at the fest. Too bad about Paul.
Next year give me Monsters of Folk one night. That's all I ask.
I figured that Paul would be pretty close to the budget for a headliner, if not over. He has a pretty big backing band to pay. I guess I'll have to wait for Bonnaroo to book him if I want to see him.
Do you think Monsters of Folk would headline or play the same spot that Jim James and Conor Oberst have played in years past? They're not nearly as popular as OCMS, Avett Brothers, Beck, Wilco, and MMJ and their original material is not very well known.
Well if Jim James Reddit AMA is to be believed, with a new album I would think that it's quite possible that Monsters of Folk will be on tour next summer.
Is there any word on a new Middle Brother album? Diamond Rugs may be the more likely John McCauley project at NFF next year (if they fit the sound of the festival).
I would also like to add that Neutral Milk Hotel will be touring next summer!

K2 - time to play our game - what do we know re: 'Satellite'? Heard a song that caught my ear yesterday off of "calling birds'. Never heard them before that i recall.. Or not so that i noticed. Hearing a Lot of 'sounds like' many, many different groups in the vocals.
Before you bash this Jugss, the game is have you heard this group yet and do you think they will soon be extremely over played or fade back away quietly?
The other day i heard my first tune from Big Star. Really glad i did my homework before i asked on that one!
I had dinner last night with my co-worker from Connecticut & her friend who happens to be the Executive Director of the Kate (Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center) in Old Saybrook, CT. I made it implicitly clear that I plan on attending NFF next year.
You take the things Jim says more literally than I do. Them sitting around getting high and singing some songs and deciding to write a movie doesn't necessarily make me think they are in any hurry. I hope I'm wrong.

My favorite game!
To start, I had not previously heard of them. The specific song must be "Brooklyn" because that tune is as catchy as the flu.
I can definitely hear what you hear. There's some Lone Bellow, Needtobreathe, Phillip Phillips, Matt Pond in the singer's voice. But will they become extremely overplayed? I don't really think there is much of a market for their sound; not country enough for country, not poppy enough for pop, not rock enough for rock (I used to think Lone Bellow would become very popular but they suffer a similar fate). Adult alternative formats will eat them up though.

Again we are of same mind. : ) I'll throw some Cold play into the leads voice as well. Quacker heard a lot of snow patrol. Interesting blend (copy) of a lot of singers now a days.. but I don't see them going commercial either.
Still holding out hope for Bellow. I so enjoy their harmonies! but alas I know they will remain on my beloved adult alternative stations. At least Britney broke out of AD/AL land last year! Damn wish you had been at NFF last year to see her Alabama Shake it all over NFF.
I would have loved to have seen that. Part of the reason I had actually started seriously considering attending NFF last year was because I was stuck behind a crowd of about 20,000 trying to see Alabama Shakes at Bonnaroo.
With my recent listening kick, I have readjusted my wish list for 2014
John Fogerty Eddie Vedder Neutral Milk Hotel Monsters of Folk Damien Rice Alt-J (they could be the yearly fringe folk act) Middle Brother The Head and the Heart The Tallest Man on Earth First Aid Kit Jake Bugg
Left field wish: Zac Brown Band (Probably too big. Some would argue too country. But I think they'd embrace the spirit of the festival and invite a lot of cool collabs)
