Give me any variation of this and I will be happy. I will be seeing Bassenctar tomorrow so I am really hoping he is not the big EDM act for next year and we can get some one Bonnaroo hasn't had yet in that spot but I think Bassnectar is a safe bet to be there.
One of these days I need to get around to seeing Above & Beyond. And more than the 20 minutes I saw at Freefest last year. But they play at UMass next month, might be able to get over there for that.
Since I'm missing MOEMS - Disclosure and the Bug instantly fly to the top of my wish list for 2014. Bonobo would be pretty nice to see too.
JUST got back from Flume, the show was great, had alot more energy than I expected it would. Loved it, hope to see him again on the farm!
I saw Flume last weekend at like 3:00 in the afternoon and was still impressed by his set. I'd love to see him again.. you know.. at a more appropriate time.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

As I was scrolling through reading, I saw your list and was surprised how similar our hopefuls are. Saw Deadmau5 a few weeks ago, Joel was amazing but wanna see him with a better crowd! EOTO would be awesome as well. Not a Bassnectar fan, so hoping he isn't the big EDM act, but if he is I can't say I wouldn't be his show if there was nothing else good going on at the time. theshining, although unrealistic, Boards of Canada would be amazing!!!!
Also, you knuckleheads need to listen to more Prydz
I'm not HUGE on Prydz and I've never seen him live, but I know my fair share... I might go see him on the farm if he comes, depending on the conflict(s) that is. I also would not be surprised to see him do a marathon set, if so, I'd probably stop by for some of it.
I don't know what the black material Coachella lined that structure with but it was GREAT for sound bleed. You literally could not hear shit coming out the side of it. However, once you walked around in front of it you got blasted. If Bonnaroo could get one of these structure they could easily stick it over in the far left south corner where the Comedy Tent is now and it wouldn't bother any tents or Which Stage as long as they faced it towards the woods.

I'm excited to say that I basically saw him play a LN set at Bonnaroo, he went on at like 1:15 in the morning and played until 2:30. So for roo it would have to be longer but I really don't think he's big enough to get a LN at roo. I feel like he would get screwed like clockwork did this year and play an afternoon set. I would most likely be at his no matter what time it was, unless he had a LN because I'm sure there would another act that I liked that I hadn't seen yet.
Maybe Flume could play later at night on Thursday?
He totally should get the vaccines slot or one of those LN thursday slots, but anything during/ after sunset would be awesome, like paper diamond this year or (preferably) later

Yeah I think he'd fit well there, depending upon how popular he gets within the next few months.

Yeah I saw Bassnectar last night. He wasn't bad but I would prefer someone else. Deadmau5 and Knife Party are my top two choices. I haven't seen either.
I have a friend who has been telling me for awhile to check out Flume and I have been putting it off until now. Definitely like what I have heard so far.

not really into deadmau5 so I would prefer someone else, but I've seen knife party. It was alright, your typical EDM show except they dropped that Internet Friends song like 5 times because that's the one that everyone knows, but it was awesome when they played bonfire cause that's my favorite song of theirs. They should get the boys noize slot from this year, I feel like they'd fit well there but I dont believe they are on the level to be our big act next year.
Can someone do me a huge favor and list the EDM acts that could have our big EDM slot next year? both realistic and unrealistic. Also, I feel like a few of them may be too big for it and only capable of headlining (Daft Punk, Portishead, etc.)? as a side note, I hope that Portishead can take the PL slot from this year, aside from being unlikely, are they too big for that?

Thats everyone I can think of that would play a Which LN spot like Skrillex/Pretty Lights the last two years. The one thing that hurts about half the artists on that list, is that most do not tour with their own stage production. Obviously this is required to play the Which Stage. Both Skillex and Pretty Lights brought their own productions. Most of those DJ's just spin from behind whatever the venue or festival has provided for them.
Obviously there are more popular obscure EDM artists, but they don't really have that "big room" house style to hold down a LN Which that would attract all the kids.
I would put all my money on either Deadmau5 or Bassnectar being our LN Which EDM act in 2014.

I was on the fence w/ Hardwell because I don't think he has a big enough following with the Bonnaroo fanbase. Who knows though, he's blowing up and could get there by 2014. He needs to release an album first though.
And I put Big Gigantic over the fence because they have massively blown up with the festival fanbases since their last time playing Roo. AND they have a new album coming out before next year.
And to use Boys Noize/Pretty Lights as an example. Boys Noize is 500x the producer/DJ that Pretty Lights is, however, Pretty Lights has a MASSIVE following with kids who attend music festivals thus why he played a LN Which and Boys Noize was put in a tent.

The bad part is that I've very little desire to most of those artists and I've seen most of the ones I wants to say. Also, you forgot the Chemical Brothers. And is Flux Pavillion capable of playing LN Which or would he have Boys Noize slot from this year?

I feel like Deadmau5 would be one of those artists who would be much better live. I know he had a new stage setup in the works but I am not sure if he has used it yet or not. And I totally agree Bonfire is definitely Knife Party's best song. I went crazy when they played that song on Breaking Bad so I couldn't imagine it live. lol

That list is not very appealing to me but you're probably right on most of those. I like Big Gigantic but I think they have to get a little bigger like you said to get that spot, but that would be really cool to see them up there one day. Major Lazer is rising in popularity also but I think they fit much better in a tent. Don't think they're likely anyway after just being there two years ago. Kaskade is someone who I have seen people talking about a lot more lately and I know he is either on tour or about to tour with a new album just released. I haven't listened to it or much of him at all honestly, I just know he is pretty popular and was billed over Pretty Lights at Outside Lands. I am not sure how popular he would be with the Bonnaroo crowd though.
I would really like to see an Infected Mushroom show at Bonnaroo. I don't know how likely that is though. It would be different and I would definitely check it out.
