Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Fly lo appeals to the hipster electronic fan like yourself, the same people who are more into the jamtronic scene.
You nailed it, that's me. Just your typical hipster electronic fan. And I can't count the number of fellow hipsters I see at all the jamtronica shows I attend. Hipsters love Bisco and Lotus and STS9 and EOTO. I heard the next Camp Bisco is being held in Williamsburg.
This is my BIGGEST LN hope for Bonnaroo this year!! Ah! I wanted it to happen really bad last year. I'm not sure about his touring schedule though...and talk about someone who tours with their own production!
This would be a ball. Saw ISAM 2.0 in Minneapolis last year and it was pretty gnarly.
Video mapping technology seems to be rapidly advancing too. Think about the possibilities!
I'm all for an artist who puts on a great & visually stimulating show playing a LN set in a tent (Amon Tobin, Savoy with lazers, Big G, Mimosa, ect) while at the same time the "BIG" (Deadmau5 (yuck), Steve Aoki (yuck), Bassnectar, ect) [note: my own PERSONAL opinion] electronic artist plays Which. In MY perfect world this would happen! and I would actually make it into the tent and actually be able to see an act! YIPEE!
Yeah, Bonnaroo is never gonna book someone like Four Tet.
2012 Skrillex, Big G, Major Lazer, Mimosa - (Mostly wubs and 808s)
FlyLo, and SBTRKT (acceptable electronic music)
2013 Pretty Lights, Boys Noise, Empire of the Sun, Wolfgang Gartner, A-trak, Paper Diamond, Porter Robinson, Clockwork, AArabmuzik
Four Tet (acceptable electronic music)
Bonnaroo books acts based on popularity. I'm fairly certain 2014 will not be an exception to this.
Major Lazer, A-Trak and Aarabmuzik are all "good" as well. Maybe even Mimosa and Big G. And they haven't booked Calvin Harris, Avicii, SHM, or Deadmau5, big name cheese that's been at the other majors. Plus MOEMS proves Capps knows whats "good." There will be "good" acts in 2014, it's worth discussing.
Nobody said they would book all kinds of electronic acts from the other end of spectrum, (that's what MOEMS is for) but to act is if they won't book any is just untrue. Your own post proves that they have shown they are capable of booking some quality EDM acts the last few years.
The Dirtybird crew, but in particular Justin Martin. Hot Since 82 is one of the most in demand producers right now and would be awesome to see. I bet Disclosure will be there based on their meteoric rise to popularity alone. Personally I'd love to see a throwback like Sasha and Digweed, anyone who was at 2007 can tell you how unreal that sunrise set was. Another legend I would love to see is Steve Lawler. Carl Cox / Fatboy Slim / Moby would all be nice to see as well. Any chance we'll see another Lunar Stage?? that made my year in 2010.
Justin Martin is one of the best producers right now. He puts together very unique mixes, so I could see him doing something awesome for bonnaroo. There are some rumors going around that he is the man behind UZ. Personally, I believe he is, because both UZ and Justin Martin have the same sampling technique.

Why does everybody keep saying Hardwell? Yeah he has a few good songs but he sucks live. He does not put off the same energy that his music does. For me, it's not about if they have good music, the artist has to perform well also and have some crowd interaction. Steve Aoki may be mainstream as hell but atleast he puts on a show.
I will be completely honest I have never seen Hardwell (one reason why I want to so bad) nor do I personally know anyone who has. My opinion of wanting to see him is strictly based off seeing the video of his set at Tomorrowland. I thought it looked like a really good time and enjoyed the set. He is also different then any other EDM act I have ever seen. It may suck I have no idea but I would take that chance opposed to seeing a recycled EDM act thats played before. I will be happy with any new act not named Afrojack, David Guetta or Steve Aoki.

I take it you have seen both Aoki and Hardwell? And that your hearing was working for both? There is absolutely no comparison. I saw Aoki and Hardwell at TW and Hardwell put on a much better show musically and as far as the party went. Aoki's crowd really only got hyped when he threw a cake and stood around talking for the majority of the set. When he played with Afrojack his transitions were horrid. It was hard to dance to even.

Caught Hounds of Hell last night in NOLA. Good times, fantastic sound in the Joy Theatre. Good crowd, kind of chill for a dance show but everyone was focused on the music, it was actually a nice change from festival sets filled with 12 year olds sprinting in circles and shrieking.
I enjoyed Tommy Trash, standard progressive house/electro set, plenty of hits. He didn't talk to the crowd at all except to thank us at the end of the set, which I like. I could see him holding down a tent at roo.
Wolfgang Gartner was better then I expected, I'm not really a fan of his but live it was pretty fun. Again the sound/mix was so good it was hard not to dance. Visceral thumping bass, overall volume loud but not too loud, and most importantly the highs were clean without being piercingly harsh and bright.
It was a good time, glad I went. Bought the shirt, it was cool and had tour dates on it.
Great Live set from Dave Christophere (Rabbit in the Moon) in August!!! So many great tracks, I would die to see him perform again...hopefully this is a sign of things to come from him
I know he isn't very popular with some people but my friend had an extra ticket to see Skrillex, Bro Safari and Valentino Khan Tuesday, so I will get to see that. I think it is too soon for a Skrillex return but I am sure most of you are fine with that. lol I had a really good time at his show last year.

I saw this show in Minneapolis on Sunday (11/10). He played quite a bit of new stuff and it's clear that he's been hanging out with Boys Noize. He played a more techy set with significant sound manipulation. Sounds more like dogblood. Was more interesting than typical 90 second drops.
Bro Safari was well liked but since I hate trap, I hated bro safari.

Yeah I liked it. Was significantly different from any show I had seen of his so far and it was a smaller venue compared to seeing him at festivals like before. I had a good time and I am with you Bro Safari he did nothing for me. I enjoyed Valentino Khan mostly because he played Dj Carnages remix of spaceman (which I had been dying to hear at a show), New Slaves by Kanye which helped soften the blow since he canceled his Columbus date on me. lol

I wouldn't be stoked on Deadmau5 or Bassnectar doing 'Roo '14 (they've both performed there before), but I'd still go and rage if they were last man standing. I'd love Carnage, Showtek, Diplo, Dillon Francis, Modestep, Knife Party or Feed Me. It honestly doesn't really matter too much who performs...I love Late Night 'Roo regardless.
