How does this rule out Neutral Milk Hotel? If anything it makes it more likely for them to appear since they will be playing shows into the summer.
The fact that they're in Europe the week before Roo?
This comes up every year, but when bands are playing in Europe the week before/after Roo, it's very likely they're not playing Roo.
Dare to dream, I guess, but it's not happening.
I don't know, the show in Portugal is june 5th, whereas bonnaroo is June 12-15, and since it would be extremely unlikely for them to play Thursday, that gives them 8-10 days to make their way here. I wouldn't count Mangum out.

There playing a huge US tour, presumably adding some West Coast dates around Coachella in April, then going to Europe and staying there a while.
It's not ironclad, which is why they're only in the "logical" section, but I'd bet lots and lots of money on it.

Didn't ASAP or Kendrick fly in from Europe this year the day before or the day of their show? I'm not saying NMH will happen, just saying that crazier things have happened (mostly because I want them to be at roo, but shhhh)

A$AP did. The Black Lips did the year beforehand. I don't think Horn is saying there is no chance it will happen, but it's just very unlikely especially considering A$AP and The Black Lips are in a more aggressive point in their careers where they are either trying to build their name or increase what notoriety they have whereas NMH has already established themselves.

It's just FAR more likely that they take their reunion tour to a bunch of Euro-fests next summer than have them come back and start hitting US cities a second time.
Edit: If there tour dates were West Coast only, then Primavera, I would be right there with you that it could happen. But given they're already hitting Nashville and everywhere else nearby, I just don't see it.

ASAP played a festival in (I believe) Sweden and then played Roo. But that was also right in the middle of his world tour. He had just finished his Euro circuit and Roo was starting the 2nd leg of his US tour.
Like I said, it does happen, but it's a long shot and thinking it's possible is most likely setting yourself up for a letdown.
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
It's only "logically," but presumably by next summer they'll have exhausted most of the US market and spend the summer doing the heavy metal + castles festival circuit in Europe. It seems unlikely they'd play MOEMS, OSL and Roo in the same 12 months.

Fair enough. Maybe I just dont want to believe that they wont be there
