Due to extreme demand, Lollapalooza 3-Day Passes are SOLD OUT
Is it pretty standard for them to go this quickly? I remember they went quick last year but can't remember exactly how quick.
Last year was fast, maybe not THIS fast.
Although there's no way of knowing if they've adjusted the allotment of 3-days vs. 1-days. If they have Outkast Friday and Eminem Sunday, they'd be able to sell a whole shitload of single days.
When festivals are able to sellout or come close to selling out before a lineup is even released is when you get repeat headliners (Eminem, Arcade Fire) much sooner than necessary. Bonnaroo was guilty of this back when it used to sell out much quicker than now.
Stunnng. Given the obvious target audience for this fest, you'd think it wouldn't sell that quickly until high school let out for the day.
Since there's about 3 million people in the city alone there's a big target audience that views this as the event for the summer. Forget all you people that would visit, it could sell out on suburban kiddies.
So single days are going to be released before the daily lineup?
They've never done that before, so I bet you get the lineup and daily breakdown around midnight tonight.
Agreed, midnight if not a leak before.
At this point, the three big headliners could be Barney and Friends, Sesame Street and Friends and S club 7 and this thing would still sell out blind. Lollapalloza doesn't have to guarantee a decent lineup anymore. At least at roo they have to give you the goods cause the conditions are fairly terrible. This will be my last Lolla. As a 31 year old man, I am not apart of the target audience anymore. At least there are fests like forecastle that still get it.

I got my 3 day, still might sell it, we'll see. Lineup at 6am.
I had two 3 days in my cart....and let them go. I just couldn't justify putting down $500 (yeah, I know I could get it back later) for what looks to be a very weak lineup. Sucks my wife and I live near Chicago and have never gone, and vowed to go this year...until we saw that lineup.
If there are any surprises I will either try for single days or buy tickets when it gets closer to the date of the fest. Ah well.
