Kot also said the lineup would be out before the tickets went on sale. Hopefully the official Lolla pages clarify.
Show me where he said that.
I was wrong, but he did say it would come out at the same time as the tickets, which was incorrect. "rustyautoparts Yes, lineup to be announced same day as tix go on sale."

What's really funny to me is all of the complaining about scalpers being the reason this sells out so quickly. I'm not saying scalping isn't a problem or that it doesn't suck, but looking at the numbers tells a slightly different story.
For example, look at how many tickets are posted on Stubhub for the upcoming Neil Young shows at the Chicago Theatre. ~650-750 tickets for each show with a capacity of 3,880 means roughly 16-19% of those tickets are on the secondary market.
Now compare that to Lolla. If we are basing this year's ticket allocations off of last year's (80,000 3-days), then we're looking at 2400 tickets out of 80,000 for a 3% scalping rate. Even if we adjust for a higher 3-day:1-day ratio, say 1:1, you're looking at a 5% scalping rate.
I know I'm preaching to the choir about how this shit works, but I just find this line of thinking funny.

That's useful although I would wait awhile to do the calculations so people who are putting the ticket on Stubhub can get home from work to do so. Also the single day tickets get higher margins than the 3 day passes, especially the Saturday tickets. Scalpers are likely to hold a higher percentage of those than 3 day passes.
I like the idea of doing the early bird in November or something so scalpers have to wait months to turn around the wristband for profit. Scalpers will still do this but I think it would have some impact.
edit: the other alternative is just raising the face value of tickets close to the resale price. Might take longer to sell out but more of the money goes to C3 to book terrible lineups instead of to resellers.
My hunch, based on only how fast 3 days went, is that most attendees will be getting dailies this year. I frequently buy my tickets for this on the secondary market and Saturday single days are the only ones that go for significantly above face value. I'd sales are a little stronger this year because Outkast Friday and Eminem Sunday will probably be strong draws.

Yeah, I mean it's all guesswork. Nobody can tell you the exact scalpers to 'real fans' ratio with the numbers available to the public. I do think more needs to be done to stop scalpers, but I really don't think that's the main problem here. It's just the reality of a major destination festival sitting in the middle of one of the biggest entertainment markets in the country finally hitting its saturation point.

Watch Pearl Jam actually be on this fucking lineup, and I will be so pissed at myself for letting go of those tickets. Hopefully the 10 club would have some for us if they are at Lolla. At this point, I am hoping all the leaks are all there is.

I haven't cancelled my hotel reservations yet just because....but I am expecting to as soon as I wake up tomorrow.

Arctic Monkeys apparently announced Friday for Osheaga. Outkast is at OVO Sunday, so that would mean the Osheaga headliners would have to be AM/Outkast/Jack White. So if Outkast is in Montreal Saturday and Toronto Sunday that leaves Friday for Lolla.
LOL that was me, I stupidly typo'd that tweet before realizing what I did.
No, not misspelling Robyn. The fact that he's hearing "strong rumors" about Robyn appearing, but doesn't know that she's doing a joint tour with Royksopp, ie he's full of shit.
I asked him a very simple question that would help a lot. Guarantee I get no answer. Are Kings and AM our only 2 rock headliners? It's a yes or no question that doesn't give any names away but could help shake things up from what we think we're getting dumped on us.
