Friday: San Fermin > Temples > quick lunch > Courtney Barnett > Warpaint > maybe some Igg Azalea > Blood Orange > Churches or Above and Beyond ... after that I dunno, Lykke Li and Arctic Monkeys I guess. Is Vic Mensa any good?
Saturday is fucking terrible. The only three bands I give a shit about are Spoon, Cut/Copy and Outkast. I want a decent spot for Outlast which means I'll get a max 15 minutes of Spoon after Nas or something. I might catch Parquet Courts or Phosphorescent if I get in early enough, but I'll probably stay home and drink.
Sunday: London Grammar > Run the Jewels> Gesaffelstein (maybe) > Chromeo > ummmmm? > Flume > Kausea > Darkside.
Looking for Spoon and Cut/Copy aftershows. Hopefully not both on the same night (I know, they're both gonna be on the same night).

My girlfriend can't do Roo this year thanks to lack of vacation time, so Lolla is her one fest of the summer. I'm letting her take the reins for the schedule as a result, but I think on first pass this is a pretty even distribution between our interests:
Friday: San Fermin > Temples > Courtney Barnett > Warpaint > Interpol > Lorde > Phantogram Saturday: Benjamin Booker > Parquet Courts > Kate Nash > Grouplove > Foster the People > Outkast Sunday: Trombone Shorty > Run the Jewels > Whatever the fuck my gf wants > Flume > Darkside
First bands on each day may be sacrificed if we're still resting up from an aftershow. Hoping for Chvrches and Spoon aftershows.
Cage the Elephant announced they were doing an aftershow this year. Hopefully at the overpriced charity events the House of Blues does every year.
You mean the Metro charity show the Wednesday before Lolla? I'm not aware of any charity that HoB is into, especially since its run by Live Nation (not exactly a charitable organization).
Friday Highly Suspect -> Into It. Over It. -> Kodaline -> Bombay Bicycle Club -> Warpaint -> Portugal. The Man -> Rudimental -> Lorde -> The Kooks -> Eminem
Saturday Rocky Business -> Charlie Hirsch -> Ratking -> Desert Noises -> Meg Myers -> John Butler Trio -> Johnnyswim -> Smallpools -> Nas -> Royal Blood -> Chase & Status -> Outkast
Sunday Kongos -> Jhene Aiko -> Bleachers -> NONONO -> Trombone Shorty -> Run The Jewels -> Glen Hansard -> The Avett Brothers -> Young The Giant -> Chance/Darkside

"special relationship with Chicago" my ass.
This fall tour is very disappointing. No Chicago and everything I can drive to is in the middle of the week. I guess it's wait til next time around.

I was at hangout when the schedule came out. Was there anybody in the 5-6 spot on the lakeshore stage on Sunday? Did they drop or do we still have an addition coming?

Milwaukee is basically a northern suburb of Chicago.

Aftershows are being announced at 10am tomorrow. There should be some good stuff, these are usually the highlight of the festival for me.
You do realize that the aftershows are by artists playing the fest, right? Not entirely different artists?
Kidding, sorta.
Hoping for Cut Copy, Spoon, maybe some Darkside.
Even though I know you're joking (sorta) I feel the need to point out they usually book several afters with artists who actually aren't playing the festival.
That said, here's hoping for Interpol, Spoon and Royal Blood.

I know. I was holding out an unrealistic hope for a Nick Cave show, but now he has an event Monday in NY so that seems to be compelled off the table.
The Interpol show on Wednesday night is a lock for me. Thursday has about 6 choices. Friday is probably Cut/Copy so I can see Outkast. Saturday and Sunday are kinda weak.
This is my basic thinking. Strand Of Oaks (on the Interpol bill) is also really good.
Lolla did a real nice job with these aftershows. Redeemed that whole weekend for me. Broken Bells w/ Wild Cub for sure on Thurs. The rest are kind of up in the air in terms of conflicts and deciding who I want to see.
