I got into photography a bit over a year ago. So far, it's mostly outdoors/nature stuff and strictly a hobby. Take a peek at a few of my shots and give me some feedback if you'd like

In a word - impressive! My only critique is with the website, I wished that it didn't auto-play as a slideshow esp. in full screen mode as just about the time I would start to really look at the details of a pic it would change to the next pic, also I thought the preview bar that obscures the bottom portion of the picture I was looking at took too long to disappear (again in full screen mode). None of which has anything to do with your photographs which I really enjoyed. In particular the photos in the album "The Southwest". Those long exposure shots are beautiful and poster worthy.

Thanks, y'all! monkybunney ...I agree with your assessment of the viewing options. I don't like it either. At some point in the future, I'm going to actually pay for a .com and set things up the way I like.

SilentEyedStorm, looks good. I have been at it for a little over two years. A fun hobby, very satisfying. If you want to check out Smugmug I just set my site up about a month ago. Then bought a domain for forward to it. Good work! Keep at it!
SilentEyedStorm, Pics look great!!! Agree with Gibran that Smugmug is great!! and Grbran-your shots are excellent also! I just set up my site there a couple weeks ago. Mostly concerts with one of my travel/landscape galleries mixed in.

Gibran and carini12 , thank you for sharing your sites too. I love checking out others photos and seeing their take on things and what interests them. Photography is my escape, when the camera comes up to my eye, I'm not worrying about life.....just focused on what I see in front of me.
Let's talk glass and gear What do y'all shoot with? I started with a borrowed Canon Rebel t2i, but now have my Nikon D5100, the 18-55mm kit lens (that i never seem to use anymore), a Tamron 4.0 70-300mm and the Tokina 2.8 11-16mm. I think my next lens purchase will be a 50mm prime.....and i need some filters. Photography probably wasn't the best choice of hobby for a tight budgeted single mom

I shoot a D90. My walk around lens is a Nikon 18-105, but I kind of want to pick up an 18-55. My favourite lens is my Nikon 50mm f/1.8 prime. That thing is worth it's weight in gold (although, it's pretty light, lol). Being that it doesn't zoom, it makes you work for the shot, but you can create some incredible results.
I shoot with a Nikon D7000 and Tamron 18-270. I will rent a fisheye for shows occasionally but unless it is really dark it is very good. I do want to upgrade to the D610 and get the 24-70 2.8, 14-24 2.8 and 70-200 2.8 but unless I suddenly make a ton of sales on my site that isn't going to happen anytime soon

Brock... Have one bedroom left to redo upstairs - It's going to be a shade of purple which coincy-dentally honors scroggie, and will be music themed. One of your shots is destined for those walls.

Congratulations Gibran on winning the MOEMS photo contest. @ntellier85 and I had a conversation on Twitter about the photo originally listed as the winner, he pointed out it had not adhered to the rules, but don't let 'im hold it over ya. Not gonna lie, I wanted to win (the shot from Bonnaroo Superjam with the ball was mine), but I'm glad someone from the Inforoo won.

I really need to invest in a tripod so I can get long exposure shots.
Invaluable to me. I do a lot of long exposure shots. I actually need a new one cause I can't use it in portrait anymore. The dang thing broke. Time to invest in a GOOD head.
