I thought they were great! I definitely would see them again. I was tired and it was early, but they totally grabbed my attention and made me want to walk up and immerse in the crowd.

Anyone traveled from/to LA before? We're leaving out early Friday to Indio and traveling back early Monday. Anyone estimate the travel times? We fly out ~2 Monday, so I don't want to fudge the exit.

I'm in LA right now. Flew in from Nash last Sunday. What is it you want to know?

How long to expect the drive to be from LA -> Indio and vice versa. I have an idea of the distance, just not the traffic. Like from 'Roo it can take a good hour or 2 just to get on the interstate leaving out Monday morning. I'm curious if we'll deal with the same thing at Coachella. Also, Roo has gotten excellent about getting people in on Thursday. I'm curious if there's a long wait on Fridays getting in.

No real wait to get in Friday when I did it a couple of years ago, but getting out of LA could be tricky depending on when you get in.
As for the other way around, I did the Indio (well Palm Springs) to LA drive this morning. We had an 11 AM flight today and left at 5:30 and it was the right call. it took nearly 4 hours for what was only 2 hours the other way. Admittedly that's rush hour, but I suspect it doesn't get a whole lot better during lunch time.
Took me 2 and 1/2 hours in my rental from hell to my hotel in Hot Springs. Then a half hour from there to parking at Coachella. No wait to get in, just clueless idiots directing traffic. Leaving has the potential to be a clusterfuck. Especially when you have police that act like "F@CKERS!" as one drunk member of my party hollered out the window at them. No names. I strongly suggest you get an app called Waze. It will get you out of there by finding back routes. I used it to get back to LA in said rental. I had to get back in Monday go to work AM traffic. What could have taken 4 hours only took 2 and a half again. Of course it had me going all over the place to avoid traffic.
I suggest you get the app and learn how to use it now, if you don't already have it.
I'm kinda glad I didn't run across this fucking epic douchebag this past weekend, cause there's a really good chance it would have ended with me kicked out or arrested.
I saw the first half before heading to Todd Terje (I think) and it was fantastic. Half because they sounded great, and half because the crowd was absolutely wonderful. Not a single shitty person.

What in the actual fuck? Who would think a shirt like that is ok?! Wow.

But you guiz, RAPE CULTURE IS HYSTERICAL!
It's sad there are still so many people that treat "rape" as the punchline to a f*cking horrible joke.
Speaking of rape, you hip Coachella ppl need to check out this Steve Albini album.
Great album? Yes. But even Albini won't try and defend that name.
If you wanted a specific quote,
"Have you ever regretted naming a band "Rapeman"? You know, I can't defend that choice. The thought processes I went through at the time, I thought, were valid. At the time both Ray [Washam, drums] and I were the only people in the band. Both of us sort of caught onto the idea of the band and the band name, and that was all it took. So I still think that's a valid process, and that's the result we have to live with. I can't defend that name, especially to someone who has a personal history that makes them particularly sensitive to it. But you know, I'm proud of the band, I'm proud of the music we made. I can't defend the name, but I'm also not willing to apologize for it."
lol @ internet tough guyz saying they would have hit this rapeguy
If this guy had run into Girlchella, you can be assured he would have been taken care of. No tough guy talk, just a fact. They are not sure if the photo has been photoshopped BTW.
As as for favorite sets, Perfune Genius, Royal Bloods, Sylvan Esso. Todd Terje was outstanding. Ryan Adams was so good , almost on the rail for my first time seeing him. ACDC was a big dance and sing along party with Inforro friends. Jenny Lewis, Sturgill Simpson, Florence and her bare feet mermaid self. All so much fun.
As for my meh, Jack White filled that dance card. Seen a better version.
My WTF is this shit goes to Kaskade. Yes, I know everyone else loves it. "Get Off my lawn!"

I'm pretty sure I could beat up Steve Albini.
Would that really be an accomplishment? Def wouldn't be as Youtube worthy as Danzig getting KO'd.
That shirt looks legit to me, but photoshops can look really convincing nowadays. I would hope it was a Rave Repeat shirt, which would still suck but whatever.
Nowhere near as cool as this:
Anyways, how were Tame Impala's new songs live? Stoked to see them again at Levitation.
