I'm kinda glad I didn't run across this fucking epic douchebag this past weekend, cause there's a really good chance it would have ended with me kicked out or arrested.
Would that really be an accomplishment? Def wouldn't be as Youtube worthy as Danzig getting KO'd.
That shirt looks legit to me, but photoshops can look really convincing nowadays. I would hope it was a Rave Repeat shirt, which would still suck but whatever.
Nowhere near as cool as this:
Anyways, how were Tame Impala's new songs live? Stoked to see them again at Levitation.
Suplex city bitch! Still waiting for my shirt in the mail..
Friday recap: ate a delicious freshers frozen lemonade, saw same great bands, gave Paul McCartney a high five, and vibed for a few seconds with Ringo Starr. All in all, it was a good day.
Just realized I didn't have a Freshers all weekend. Whoops!

Bonnaroo really does need a Yuma tent. Deeper dance music is slowly catching on in America and Roo would be smart to pick it up while it was still blossoming.

Most everything I saw was good to great, but not much was in the exceptional category this year. Terje (and Bryan Ferry!) was easily the highlight, wish he could have played longer. Loved RTJ, Action Bronson, Sturgill, Ride and St Vincent. Jungle and Duke Dumont both impressed me. Only dud was Drake. Was he headliner material? Based on the crowd and the setlist, for sure. But he lacked any genuine emotion on stage, his pacing was all fucked up, and while I admire the intent behind not bringing up any collaborators, having Madonna dance around like a doof instead made no fucking sense.

Crowd: I was really expecting the crowd to be the worst thing about Coachella but it was very rarely an issue. My perception was for it to be like Lolla and lots of selfie sticks, young adults rolling too hard, and too much talking but I encountered very, very little of it. Coming away from the festival, the crowd is what exceeded my expectations the most. I didn't run across the amount of amazing people that I do at Roo but I also didn't run across the amount of horrible people that I do at Roo. There was very little talking during sets even for daytime acts that were under-attended. There was very little pushing to get closer as even the RtJ most pit was respectful. There weren't nearly the amount of excessive talkers/picture takers, heart hands, girls on shoulders, people there to just look cool, and all the other Coachella stereotypes. The Drake crowd sucked but whatever.
You probably didn't run into the AWFUL crowd because of the sets that you went to. It looks like you didn't check out the Sahara at all, which is where said crowd resides.

I had one for you
My thoughts on my 1.5 days at Coachella......I loved the venue setup, for its ease of getting from one tent/stage to another. However, if you tend to hang out at the back of the crowd like me, there are major sound bleed issues between the Outdoor and Coachella stages. Even the artists mention it. Jenny Lewis threw a shout out to Marina & the Diamonds when their set started and Ryan Adams, commented several times on Kaskade's set over on the main stage. Saying once, (I'm paraphrasing here), "Do you hear that? Can you believe that is what is considered music today?"
The venue is gorgeous during the day, but holy crap....at night? It's downright stunning. Lights in all the palms surrounding the grounds, the lit up art installations, it's a major wow factor. I didn't run into any douche bags except for one guy during Drake (remember him custeph and gardenfresh?). Everyone I initiated conversation with was pretty friendly, but not outwardly so. Their ADA program leaves a lot to be desired. Everyone's Invited, who implements Bonnaroo's Access program, is leaps and bounds ahead in terms of accommodation and services.
My favorite sets were Florence, Sturgill Simpson and Royal Blood. We were packed in like sardines for Drake, and I thought I might not make it, but was helped along with some encouragement from other Inforoo'ers and a guy that was behind me in the super VIP area who started a little dance party with me. Coachella was probably a one off for me, distance and cost to travel being the main reasons. Plus, I like camping festivals and from comments I've seen made, camping at Coachella wouldn't be for me. But, I'm so glad I was able to make it in for Sat/Sun and experience it. I had a wonderful time.

I'm annoyed the coachella forum logins are temporarily disabled. I'd be even more annoyed if I was leaving for the festival and trying to coordinate shit with people on the forum.
Stromae was by far the best show I saw at Coachella. It was incredible. Beautiful, theatrical, amazing. If anyone is going weekend 2 you really need to catch that show.

I really wish they'd make the Yuma 21+ and serve alcohol and have bathrooms. The majority of under 21 kids do their dumbass shuffling dance at Sahara anyways.

Also, I recommend never going to Coachella with JHOinTN. My god did she talk my ear off the whole time. I'm just trying to enjoy the show and she's just blabbering away at me. Pretty sure she was just flirting, who knows, but I tried my best to tune her out.

Unfortunately Bonnaroo has shown zero interest in being ahead of the curve when it comes to these things. And even the Yuma isn't a great example of "blossoming" acts, as they tend to feature pretty well established/popular DJs. But it's easily the best dance offering of any of the major U.S. festivals, for sure.

To Bonnaroo's credit, they seem to be shying away from the cheesy EDM. Roo's still got deadmau5 and Bassnectar, but it's better than Lolla (Carnage, Nicky Romero, and Kygo) and Firefly (The Chainsmokers and Steve Aoki).

I am completely recharged, ready to go, wristband on, at full optimum physical health for Weekend 2. I've been on a crazy health craze for the past three months and I think that has something to do with it-- but c'mon! You guys could totally do two weekends.

So what's the healthiest chicken burrito you have?
According to my FitBit, I walked 24.8 miles over the three days at Coachella. No wonder my knee went out Sunday night before Drake. Thank goodness surgery is already scheduled for Monday.

Skip the tortilla and you have a lot of options. Chipotle Burrito Bowl with Chicken, White Rice, Fajita Veggies, Guac, Pico de Gallo. 635 calories. I prefer steak though.

The only Freshers I had all weekend was what I "borrowed" from gardenfresh, who really does make the best festie boyfriend ever.
