she'd be in jay z's spot for sure. who would she follow tho?
Elton John into Lady Gaga would be amazing. There both friends (Shes the godmother to him and David's children), and then we would have a legendary collaboration. You can watch any one of there many performances together to see how amazing this would be!

This is totally crazy wishlist fodder, but could you imagine if they were billed together as one act? Like a full set of them accompanying each other? Obviously that's the type of stuff that tours are made of, not one-off shows in the middle of Tennessee, but golly, a boy can dream.
I see what you did there... and I like it! If they were billed as one act I wouldn't even be able to handle it. It would be way to fabulous! They wouldn't even have to sing their own stuff the whole time. I would love if she would do her version of "stand by me" with Elton

I'm still not convinced it's happening, but I'm 100% on board with everyone who feels it would be way better than some Jack Johnson/Mumford snoozefest. Not sure she meets the typical Roo headliner standards though. Most headliners hit at least 2 out of 3 of the following:
Old... No White... Yes Guy... Negative
Thus, I disagree with anyone saying this is a slam dunk

Bjork by all rights should have been a/the first female headliner they did her a real disservice with the way they treated her on the schedule putting her on in the afternoon I am still ashamed of it Lady Gaga barely has any of the creativity of Bjork she just wants to roll around in meat and talk about peoples sexuality Bjork has a much grander scheme to her music in it's scope and despite what everyone says I agree her music is on the downside of a career she is a one trick pony for the most part that just has pretty repetitive message that has gotten old people are supposed to innovate in their careers
1-1-12 Bassnectar NYE SHOW! 1-21-12 G. Love and Special Sauce 3-1-12 Radiohead 3-9-12 Experience Hendrix 5-15-12 Jack White @ The Ryman 6-7-12 Bonnaroo 6-19-12 Roger Waters presents "THE WALL" 7-7-12 Ringo Starr's 72nd Birthday Party Extravaganza at the Ryman
If Lady Gaga was booked for Roo 2014 I would def. not be attending. I can respect Beyonce....not lady gaga
I hear ya there! There's no way the other 149 bands could ever make up for me not attending a stage where an act I don't want to see is playing..
It really couldn't.. going to a festival with Lady Gaga as a headliner would probably make for the worst festival experience ever, for me (my opinion). Yeah I get it there are a ton of other bands at the festival, but if she is headlining that means I either skip out on one of the biggest acts I essentially paid for with my ticket....or I could just go to an entirely different festival with headliners I actually like and save myself the trouble of having to endure a Bonnaroo crowd filled with Gaga fans.

Gaga fans? What's wrong with gaga fans? Have you been to Bonnaroo? Have you been to many festivals in general? Headliners are rarely the best shows I've seen at any fest (my opinion). The last 3 years at Bonnaroo, of the 9 (top 3 each year) headliners I've seen, I skipped 2 and left 3 early. I'm not even gonna try to get into the math of the % of your ticket cost that would go to 1 headliner, but i assure you, the bands you didn't see would take up a much larger % of your ticket cost than one headliner. But you do as you like, Everyone has their own reasons for attending differently festivals. For me, It doesn't matter who headlines, I'll still be making my way to Manchester in June.

Yes I have been to Bonnaroo, yes I have been to many festivals in general, and I'm not going to get into who or really what is a typical Gaga fan because I do not have the tact and grace to word a response without offending anyone, with that being the case I'll keep my mouth shut on that one. I agree that the best shows are not always the headliners, but interesting, you don't typically enjoy the headliners? That's odd to me because I also have been to the last three Roos and all times at least one of my favorite shows from that year was a headliner (Widespread Panic, Radiohead, Phish, Macca, and Petty was not favorite but someone I've wanted to see).

. I didn't say I typically don't enjoy the headliners. I was on the rail for Radiohead, waited through 3 sets at what for Macca, and loved Arcadefire. My point was that one headliner is going to have very little to do with my decision to attend. Nice side step on the gaga fan steriotype btw. Cheers

As a huge Gaga fan, I would rather her not come because of people like you. I would much rather see her at artRave because I wont have to deal with people who dont "get it". Ive been going to Bonnaroo for six years, and have never been pleased by EVERY headliner on the line-up. That being said I still go because there are another 150 bands that I can choose from. The festival is about so much more than music for me. Gaga does deserve a spot on the line-up, maybe not this year but eventually, but seeing as she does not conform to the old white guy rule she probably wont get a headlining spot. She is a beautiful human who only wants to entertain her audience, but since her fans a predominantly gay, homophobes wont give her the time of day. It's really quite sad.
She is not a Which Stage act, that's one thing I feel pretty positive about. I would love to see her on the farm, personally. She's an entertainer, and I go to roo to be entertained.
I think she could be on which late night. She would probably not be as big of a draw at Bonnaroo as she is on her solo dates and I'm not sure her major fan base would drop $350 to go to Roo just for her. I think it's comparable more to NIN playing Which in '09. Wasn't that one of their final shows before an announced hiatus? Anyhow, it wouldn't bother me if she closes What one night.
Her tickets tend to be pretty pricey (last tour, the cheapest ticket was $99), so I wouldn't put it past Little Monsters. Also, she doesn't have a Nashville date, even though Nashville was one of the cities she cancelled on in 2013.
Last year was my first roo and due to finances i MAY not be able to swing it this year - but if gaga is going to be there I WILL FIND A WAY. i've seen her live only once before, and it was one of the best shows i've ever been to. she cured my pop music snobbery. before her album the fame monster i never paid any attention to pop stars, but i've followed her career since and i love her music and nearly everything about her. i'm sure there will be other acts i love this year, but gaga on the lineup will really motivate me to make the trip. i would LOVE to see her perform on the farm, i feel like it would be so fantastic - i also think a lot of people would end up being surprised by how much they'd enjoy her if they'd give her a chance
