Umphrey's could just cover a whole album for the Superjam too. A classic one like Animals or OK Computer. It'd probably take them like 20 minutes to figure it all out.
Music Midtown: 2011 Bonnaroo: 2012 - 2016 Forecastle: 2013 Rock al Parque: 2014 420 Fest: 2014-2018 Shaky Knees: 2015 - 2019, 2021 Seen tons of local shows since 2004.
As someone who is into neither EDM or jam music, I'm concerned that the ? Superjam is going to be a bone thrown to the jam band fans who have been left out of the fun this year.
That would leave me with few options for late night.
They put a small hint in the announcement of artist additions 'whole lotta announcements' whole lotta love... So could it be that hopes and dreams or anything can happen are clues?

I just hope it's something where a bunch f guests come out and play songs we can all sign along too. Last year was ridiculously fun and it seemed like everyone enjoyed Questlove and DANgelo. I hope they take the feedback from last year and run with it.

"You make my dreams come true" aka Daryl Hall And Chromeo: The Redemption Tour

Ugh I just googled it and "hopes and dreams" is a Wiz Khalifa song. God dammit.

Might have just used that line because the main name on the additions was John Paul Jones. Not sure that's a hint but I wouldn't complain if it were.

Wait what? How does "whole lotta announcements" lead to John Paul Jones?

Did they say "Whole lotta announcements" before it was announced that JPJ was added? I thought deachordal was saying that when they announced JPJ and the other artist additions that they also mentioned "whole lotta announcements" coming up. I barely read the announcements on the Roo site or in my e-mail and find most of my info on here.
Edit: Ahhhh I see. On the facebook page before the announcements they said that. My bad. I thought he was saying it was mentioned when John Paul Jones was added. To hype the rest of the week (and possible Superjam news).
Wow, Wiz would also make a lot of sense as a Lead-In for Chance The Rapper.
I'm pissed. Take me off this thread as OP.
I hope all of this is dead wrong. I cant imagine the let down im going to go through if the ? Superjam is a rap superjam. They are having a bluegrass superjam repeat...they should be having a Rock N Soul dance party repeat.
I still wish they'd keep it as Superjam ? until Roo
I wanted the same thing until I am now realizing that their is a possibility that it could be some kind of Hip Hop/Rap Superjam. I don't want to skip something to get a good spot of a Superjam ? just to find out when it starts that I don't want to be there. Not that I have anything against rap(id prolly be at Ice Cube)...Im sure it would still be awesome, but id rather be at one of those other shows than a rap Superjam.
I will be a little upset if it's a hip-hop superjam. I want Umph and/or funk. Really, just something to dance to, because last year's SJ was a blasty blast.

I just googled "anything can happen." It's an Ellie Goulding Song. Wiz and Ellie Goulding. Weirdest superjam ever.
Oh please no, they're already repeating the Bluegrass Superjam, are they really gonna do another Hip-hop Superjam? That would be really lazy (And ruin my Jeff Tweedy/ John Paul Jones Superjam dreams).

I think you would've danced just fine at the hip hop superjam last year with lettuce playing instrumentals. Anyway, I don't think they would do hip hop 2 years in a row. Last year was more taking advantage of having wutang than just wanting to do a rap superjam. It just feels wrong that they would have multiple superjams and none would be rock related, right?

this kinda sounds like you have something against rap

Yeah to be honest the Hip Hop Superjam from last year was more of a funk/jazzy/DJ show with some hip hop thrown in there. Although it was some magical shit; GFK, U-God and Solange, Red and Meth, Schoolboy Q, Inspectah Deck, GZA might have shown up, can't remember... RZA was embarrassingly fucked up though.
Anyways I do hope this Superjam is rock/jam/funk related, and to be honest, I think it has a very good chance to be.
anything with either chromeo or umph involved would make me happy. this would obviously lead us to my preferred route of a funk/disco/dance superjam. do you think i could get that lucky?
however, i do see how the wiz connection would make sense. i hope that's not the case. mostly because i'm not sure who would be the guests, there aren't really enough people on the farm to make another hip/hop superjam work, and ice cube is playing at the same time.... actually, since ice cube is playing at the same time do you think they'd even do another rap/hip hop set simultaneously? would be odd. doesn't really matter, i'm going to be at disclosure and hopefully catch the end of the superjam...
actually, i'll be working. so none of this really matters., i'm going to go cry now.
I really think a hip-hop superjam will not happen on Friday. It's much more likely that Skrillex brings out Chance the Rapper, Sir Mix-a-lot, Hannibal Buress and more for some rap songs during his superjam.
As far as the "?"
Biggest Dream: Jack White/John Paul Jones/Jimmy Page blues superjam. (Think about it.) Expectation: Jeff Tweedy/Conor Oberst/??? in a Neil Young/The Band/Americana Superjam.

Both your dream and expectations are dreams for me. At this point though, I have no idea who or what to expect.

Oh my god, I'm an idiot for not even thinking of Gibberish Rap happening at the skrillex superjam. I have to see that.
