Think it's more likely we'll see a few Beatles songs in the Flaming Lips show....though bringing out some surprise acts and doing the full album for Superjam would be pretty awesome. I could definitely see the Superjam having a Beatles theme. Really hoping we get some info about the Superjam before the festival.
I've got my hopes set on a Jack White led Superjam. Would also love to see Ben Folds show up. And whoever said the "?" may stand for a Which Stage superjam just opened my mind to so many possibilities. Would be weird since Superjam is more of an intimate event, but one on a stage could be very interesting. We'll find out soon!
The only reason I have doubt about the JW superjam is that he's a headliner. Would they really put the headliner in a tent/ on the which if they think he's big enough full the field?

I think in the AMA AC said that it's a "?" Bc they really don't have anyone yet, not bc it's going to be on the which. Although that'd be cool.

I just saw them last week and the only cover they played was Gates of Steel, tribute to Devo bassist that just passed away. But I know their set can always change by June.
Flaming Lips Beatles superjam would be awesome. But I would like it if it wasnt just Beatles. With them already done Darkside of the Moon and In the Court of the Crismon King there is plenty of room for idolizing here. They are well known for collaborating but I dont think they have worked with any other artist that are on the lineup though... Well now after a little research i see they did a song with Nick Cave. So theres that
Lauryn Hill will be there, maybe we can get a Fugees reunion lol
Haha, maybe if Wyclef can forgive her for telling him she was having his baby, but it was sooooooooo definitely Rohan Marleys! OMG! And also, Annie Clarke just mentioned Lauryn Hill on Portlandia.
he wants to work with pharrell and said kanye's MBDTF was a "motherfucker of a record"
oh and ticketmaster has him at bonnaroo on the 12th? which is odd cause we know his set is the 15th.... Not too far fetched for him to play friday night, do his show saturday night in NC and come back sunday. thats like a 30 minute flight.

i feel like you're being sarcastic but sorry, i just got kinda excited. will it happen? prob. not but i can hope, right?
It's not like nobody wants Kanye and Elton to show up on stage together. This board has just learned the hard way not to get hopes up.
Everybody thought Led Zeppelin was gonna happen in 2008. Nope. Everybody thought Neil Young was going to happen in 2010. Nope. Everybody things Daft Punk and Prince are going to happen every year. Nope.
If Elton came out with Kanye and, I dunno, played piano for five minutes, that would be cool. But Bonnaroo has already given us an awesome line-up with tons of music to dig through. There's no point in getting your hopes up about something that unlikely when you can legitimately get your hopes up about seeing great acts all day every day.

I was being sarcastic - sorry to harsh your hopes. Honestly, I don't think so - but anything can happen (it just usually doesn't).
This is just my guess but - if they were going to do something that mind blowing, they wouldn't give it away for free; if they played the same night, that would serve to boost your mangled hopes after they pick themselves up off the rocks upon which - by my hand - they were recently dashed. Again, sorry about that.

Thinking about it, what could realistically happen at a live one off Kanye/Elton collaboration? My dream is for Elton to rap "Can't Tell Me Nothing" while Kanye plays piano. Yeah. That would be cool.
My reasoning is that for Elton, it would be a lot of traveling to just appear for a few minutes in one song. Traveling can be tiring, and I would want to be compensated for going a third of the way across the country and back, especially since it would just be for one song, as a guest in someone else's set. It'd be cool, but its not worth Elton's time and it's not worth AC's money. If they were playing on the same day or something it'd be different, but as it stands, I don't see it happening.

Have they done a Blues Superjam? I'd like to see something like that happen, but I need at least Gary Clark Jr., John Mayer, BB King, and some other Blues legends to be there.

If GCJ and John Mayer were on stage together at Bonnaroo, I would absolutely freak.

That would be amazing....and throw in Clapton as well, since this has almost no chance of happening.......ahh, but we can dream.

1/3rd of the way across the country? Tennessee- Charlotte, NC Is like a 30 minute flight..
Here's my 2 cents. Kanye Friday as we know. SF/AC also plans for Kanye curated super jam (LN Sat), but is still a little worried how it will pan out for his headlining performance. This way if things go bad they can call on whoever is willing for the "mystery superjam". This happening could lead to Kanye hanging out all weekend and Elton/Kanye collabo Sun night ala Phish/Bruce.
the random teases from that lineup announcement will be involved. and it will be on the which stage because of the "?" and because daft punk can't play in a tent.
(1) Damon Albarn (2) Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds (3) King Khan & His Shrines (4) Ty Segall (5) Ms Lauryn Hill (6) Darkside (7) Kanye (8) Janelle Monae (9) Goat (10) Meshuggah.
That just means he is helping choose 2 winners for the sonic bids contest: This year, Bonnaroo is offering two performance slots exclusively to Sonicbids artists. Selected artists will be invited to perform at the annual four-day, multi-stage festival alongside acts like Elton John, Kanye West and Jack White. In addition to playing for more than 90,000 fans, bands will receive $1000 in compensation and be included in a variety of high-profile event materials (including a full-page bio on the official Bonnaroo website) and press opportunities.
Also new this year: selections will be curated by music industry institution Billboard and the iconic Wayne Coyne, music innovator, psych-rock-sage and frontman of the Flaming Lips!
What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.

In that case, I'm hoping that Fred Armisen leads the mystery Superjam should it not be the disco/funk jam that seemed so real before the line-up dropped.
