Personally, I've only stayed at one other hotel there. They closed up shop last year and Holiday Inn bought it. It's almost the same distance as the Days Inn. I can't speak for the HI but it has been getting good reviews
There is always The Sheraton. It's wicked pretty and you can't beat the convenience to the festival. You'll check in there to get your wristbands and as you walk out the doors in the evening, you'll walk right into City Plaza. I just can't justify spending $500 for a three day rental when I know I won't be seeing that much of the room.
I'll have to do some research for capacity but it looks like the venues are
Dave beat me to it.
Slims is a 100? They named it that for a reason, huh.
Yeah, if Slim's is 100, it seems like King's should be more, but that is what I found. I might just be making it bigger in my head.
I feel like Kings is being way conservative. I'm probably way off base there though.
I want to say that I feel like King's is low balling their numbers a little while Slim's may be exaggerating. It may come down to layout though. King's certainly feels like a bigger room but the layout with the bar kind of in the middle of the room and that rail that runs down the left side may cut the actual capacity down whereas Slim's is a long but narrow room which may throw off your perception.

I've stayed at the Holiday Inn before and it is great! The rooms are nice and they have a nice bar/restaurant on the top floor with a great view of Raleigh.

I looked it up and King's is 250 according to a third party. On their website they say that King's is larger than Neptune's (the downstairs bar) and Neptune's has 100 capacity.

puptent, here's what I could fine from the internet re: venue capacity. I stayed at the Days Inn Downtown last year with , so I don't really know about any of the other venues.
Thanks, this should come in handy for anyone checking the thread. I'll probably end up going with the Days Inn since it's cheap and close to the venues.

I liked the Days Inn last year. It wasn't right on top of the venues like some others but it seemed to be a lot cheaper while still remaining in walking distance. I had no troubles last year, and I was in much worse shape then than I am now.
P.S. Some of the day parties are a short drive away. I almost forgot about that. Otherwise, you wouldn't need to move your car all weekend.
I thought Lincoln was somewhere in the range of 600-750, but I never can figure out how there's that many people in there.
Slim's is probably counting the upstairs balcony (no stage view) with the pool table, as well as the patio. Best place at Slim's, imo, is getting a spot on the stairs. Just get there early if you're planning on catching anything because you can't see much if you're not up front.

Thanks. I saw a couple posts about meet ups, any planned so far this year? Looks like there are less than 10 people on Inforoo that post in this thread..
Any rough estimates on attendance? Google was no help, which leads me to assume that no record is kept/made public.. because attendance is not particularly high..?
I feel like it's somewhere around 4/5k and that may be a high estimate.
I'm sure there will be a show or 3 that we all hit up and there are always day parties. I feel like I saw more Inforoosters last year than any other festival I attended. Part of that is hotel but a lot of it had to do with just the smallness of the festival. Once the schedule drops, I think we will know better how that goes.

We usually have a lot of crossover on shows and hangout during the day. The city plaza shows are a good meet up too.
I now live just outside of downtown. Totally up for hanging before or after the shows. I imagine we'll be having people over after the music at least one of the nights for a little after party (probably Saturday)

I really think it's gonna be a daily breakdown but I'm also really hoping I'm wrong. I got 20 hours on a Greyhound and need some "light" reading material.
