Bands I would like that seem like reasonable gets for Hopscotch: Sun Kil Moon Perfect Pussy The War On Drugs Real Estate/Ducktails White Fence Parquet Courts Deafhaven The Range
There's that Deafhaven again. They're so hot right now.
A friend pointed out the other night that The War On Drugs are skipping the area on their current tour. Considering that they almost always stop here, I think it bodes well for an appearance

Hopscotch presents IIII on September 4 at Fletcher Opera Theater with Akira Bharoocha (formerly Lightning Bolt/Black Dice, currently Soft Circle/Boredoms), Ryan Sawyer (Lone Wolf), Brian Chase (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Daren Ho (Driphouse/Raccoo-oo-oon), Ben Vida (Soft Circle), and Mathew Watson, and… Hunter Allen (Bronzed Chorus/Jenny Besetzt) Raymond Finn (Lonnie Walker/Wool) Laura King (Flesh Wounds) Rob Lackey (The Rosebuds) Joey LaFontain (Zack Mexico) Scott Nurkin (Birds of Avalon/The Dynamite Brothers) Brian Quast (Polvo) Thomas Simpson (The Love Language) Yan Westerlund (Bowerbirds/Canine Heart Sounds)
I'm hoping this becomes more of a possibility for me with the passing of MOEMS, but I've got a general question: I remember seeing schedules for past years that sort of made me feel not quite as awful for missing, with them appearing incredibly cramped and littered with horrible conflicts... how bad is it, really, with the distance between venues, getting in, and mostly dealing with that schedule? I know day parties are supposed to alleviate that a bit, however.
The schedules are gut wrenching at times. That's no lie. But when you cram 175 bands into a few hours each night, there will be hella conflicts. I've never regretted anything I've chosen over something else.
The walks aren't bad. There are a cluster of like 5 venues within a few minutes of each other. The furthest ones apart can be done within 10/15 minutes. Plus you got hot dog vendors on the way. That's a perk where I come from.
Here's an older map with most of the venues (spoiled for size).
Would Spoon be a headliner? They weren't announced in the initial Merge 25th anniversary festival (and I was positive they would be). Doesn't mean they won't be added later but I could see it happening at Hopscotch.

It could happen, but I would bet they play Merge 25. There's no way they play both (Hopscotch has a proximity clause)
Another guess I have for a headliner is Television
