I quickly looked around for another thread about this and didn't come up with anything, although I'm sure its been discussed somewhere else…
So last year AC tried to pull that "TO is for walk-ins only" thing, and I'm curious about whether or not they will try the same this year… As of right now the site still says that you can leave your car in the GA camping area and walk to tent only, but I'm worried that they might change this at the last minute again… Anybody know anything that i don't in regards to this matter?

^I would HATE that camping spot. Constantly people yelling and talking outside your tent, not to mention literally zero privacy and higher risk of thefts.

Yeah but I bet there are no tent poopers in TO.
I dunno Dave. Camp in TO and let's see how it goes this year.

I am a proverbial shepherd to all of the rooks who join me each year like rats following the pied piper. It's hard enough car camping with some of these folk, they'd never make it in TO. I'd love to do TO one year....one day....one day...

So much THIS! Fuck your toilets! Minus that initial hauling of your gear there, TO beats the shit out of VIP. And in response to the OP, no way. There was massive RAGE after that announcement last year and they wisely decided to change it.
EDIT: Has anyone on here who camps in TO ever had a theft issue?

NO! The only time I car camped is when I experienced theft. Camping only is the best way to do bonnaroo, let all the haters and people who aren't up for the challenge stay in car camping. Leaves more room for us who know how to go about getting to camping only.

Just bring them all to camp inforoo, with the new merger I am expecting around 150 people this year already.

Thanks for the invite. I will take it into consideration. Depends how many people go with me this year. Last year it was me + 12 others(8 of which were rooks). Its still early and I dont count anyone as "officially going" until they tell me they've actually bought a ticket but I've been told by a minimum of 7 people "OH IM GOING THIS YEAR!!". If I go with like 5 or less I think it would be fun to join up with some other people, I've never combined camps with people I didnt already know. Could be fun times. I'd love to assemble some sort of mega structure and make the best damn camp site of all time. Did anyone see that giant fortress last year near Camp Darth Vader I think it was? That was a beast! haha

See this is the beauty of camp inforoo, you can make plans whether you get 12 or 3 people and we can still assemble a mega camp. I have done Bonnaroo just about every way you can imagine, and camp inforoo is flat out the best way imo. Poor mans VIP and we have more fun.

It is very tempting. Still way too early to confirm anything but if nothing else, I am interested.

Never a theft issue in 10 straight yrs in T.O. And I spread my sh!t around like a braindead gypsy. We have moar eyes at camp inforoo with folks always millin and chillin and avoiding going into Center. Car campers get nicked just as quick.

5 of the people I camped with last year got their satchels/camelbak/backpack stolen late Saturday night/early Sunday morning. They had all left them outside of their tents instead of either in a car or in a tent. The next morning they were walking somewhere, I forget, but they were talking about it and some random person overheard and told them that somebody dropped off a bunch of stuff randomly by their car. Turns out the thief took a stuff from all over, searched it all, then dumped everything in one spot. They lost their money and valuables but at least they got the bags back. That's the only instance of theft I've ever experienced since I started going to Bonnaroo.

I have (thankfully) never had anything stolen. I have had some questionable neighbors in the past, but I have never had a bad TO experience. I fly down and take the shuttle so I don't bring a lot of extra stuff anyway.

Last year I had a chair and smokes stolen within the first hour of brunch on Friday (I believe it was a passerby), then whoever ransacked my cooler on Sunday night took off with my brand new utility cart. Before that I had never experienced theft no matter where I camped. I think I was the only one in Camp Inforoo that had stuff come up missing.
The whole time you're dragging your shit to TO you regret not staying with your car. But after you get set up you quickly forget that feeling. It's totally worth it.

I had no idea you (or anyone) had stuff stolen last year
I left a red camping chair behind when I left Sunday. I hope it found a good home.
Your second paragraph is totally spot on. I felt exactly that way!
As much as I love BFE/007 I have been fully converted to TO and Camp Inforoo. The haul to get your gear, and fellow Inforooers is long and hard, but well worth it. Hell my adventures gettin' my shit and others was hugely stressful, but once it was all said and done by Thursday afternoon it was awesome!
