Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
The way I see it, the picture is such a hack job, I don't believe the creators had the skill/ability to invert the colours if it was a Greek flag, nor do I think they could have made the design from scratch. It is a butchered cut and paste job, which is what leads me to Finland.
As for the wrong shade of blue, google-image the Finnish flag, and see how many variations appear.
Have you guys not figured out this is Husky Rescue yet? They're a Finnish group that's been around since 2002. They recently had a lineup/format change and now have a new album dropping here in the US in early June.
The Lollaboard got this one pretty easily yesterday.
if you love the lolllaboard so much then WHY DONT YOU MARRY IT!!!
He pretty much was married to the Lollaboard for quite a long time. And then he decided to have a kid with his mistress and had to get a divorce from the board.

So what are we, the mistress? Because I'm oK with that.
Are you saying the clue is more likely to be them because you would rather see them? Or do you know something I don't? I'd much rather see them (for the third time), too, but the flag is clearly Finnish.

The flag is a Nordic cross. I don't think its really more specific than that.
Also First Aid Kit's first album was called the big black and the blue and one of their singles off their latest album is called blue. Which could explain the nearly all blue imagery.
One quick ninja edit: If you go to first aid kits Youtube channel their symbol is a strange looking all blue cross.

Considering the radio hint was "What country is the band from?", I'm going to say that it is more specific than that.
On a related note, DBT and Neutral Milk Hotel are from the USA. Why would the hint refer to the country of origin when the clue pointed to the city they're from?

I don't think we should be considering the radio hints at all. They aren't part of the clue and most of the clue audience does not hear them. Nor were they necessary for solving any of the clues we've already received.

wait, I thought the radio hints definitely had something to do with the clue. what would be the point of radio hints if they had nothing to do with it?

Wasn't the radio clue for the CHVRCHES one something like, "why are his hands green?" If so I'm inclined to believe that coolstorybro is right about disregarding the radio clues - or at least some of them, because WTF does winston churchill's hands being green have to do with CHVRCHES? his hands looked pretty darn blue to me anyway.

I took that to be a hint to actually look at the color of the hands and know that it was important to the clue without it being obvious. I think Finland would be something connected to the artist without them actually being from Finland like the clue suggests.

Good point. But then for the Washed Out one, iirc the radio clue was something like "the band's name is not portrayed by the image" or whatever, which was a pretty literal clue. So I think it's fairly safe to say that the radio clues are not at consistent levels of literal-ness, if that makes sense. So it might make sense to forget about the radio clue until we have a solid guess based on the image and then see if the radio clue can somehow fit, either obviously or obscurely?

that is why I think we need to consider "What country is [t/T]he [b/B]and from
because the answer is either Canada, Finland or Greece, in all likelihood.
Which I think means we should be looking for plays on those countries - grease, finish, something related to Canada, but not necessarily a band from those places, depending on how we take the radio clue

Very long time lurker (8 year roo vet), first time poster here. Had to post this as i didnt see anybody with the same reasoning.
My gut instinct upon seeing the picture before seeing the radio clue was the Flaming Lips.
Their fourth album was titled "In a Priest Driven Ambulance".
Probably just wishful thinking..but I'm hoping that the radio clue was to draw attention to the "flag" (really the cross). Hence the Flaming Lips. Done!

This is my new favorite. I find it VERY similar to the CHVRCHES logic. "Why are is hands green?" They're not, they're blue...but wait a minute, they're V's! Blue V's on a CHVRCHES album cover! Winston Churchill! CHVRCHES!
draws parallel to: "What country is the band from?" That flag doesn't fully match any country...but wait a minute, it's a cross! And it's on an ambulance! Priest Driven Ambulance album! Flaming Lips
Edit: It's either that or the radio clue is literal, but there's not a flag in the picture. Just a blue cross. Which points to blue cross blue shield because that greek symbol on the front of the ambulance is similar to the one on their logo. BCBS is in America. So, band from America. Born in the USA. Bruce Springsteen confirmed. ...but there might be some wishful thinking in there somewhere.

To further cook your noodle on this one, from Wikipedia:
"On a white background, it features a blue Nordic cross, which represents Christianity."
If you have faith in the Roo Clue imagery department after the first four, you're crazy. Trying to figure out which flag this is based on the color is redundant, I guarantee you the intern just googled the flag of whichever country the band's supposed to be from (coughSwedencough) and threw it together without realizing Scandinavian countries have nearly identical flags.
Also, First Aid Kit is the only answer remotely close to fitting the ambulance part of the clue. These aren't the clues of years past, they're made for the general Facebook/Instagram public to catch on to quick.

You're really going to argue that Husky RESCUE and Apocalyptica (featuring Mikko SIREN), both from a country with a flag that features a blue Nordic Cross on a white field, don't even remotely fit?
I think a lot of people are still having a hard time separating who they want to see or who they think is likely to be there from the most logical answer to the clue. I have a question for all the people who feel strongly that they know the answer: How do you feel about that act? More specifically, who can say they HATE the act they think the clue is pointing towards?
Probably Foals. They are touring with Cage the Elephant who are confirmed for roo.
Foals played last year, though, and my understanding is that back-to-back at Roo only happens with a surge of popularity? A la Kendrick Lamar (and hopefully HAIM this year :-D God I love Este). Anyway, am I missing something about Foals in that regard?
