I agree that Foo Fighters are fantastic live. When I saw them they opened with 30 minutes of hit after hit after hit without stopping at all between songs, just counting into the next one as the last chord rang out. Finally they stopped for a minute to say hi and make sure we were okay, then they kept going.
Whilst sitting at home I'm not prone to listen to much Foo Fighters, but I would definitely welcome them to and see them at Roo.

I've seen them at a festival and they did an awesome show. I would love to see them a third time at the farm. Lets hope for 2015.
Memory is fuzzy, but I recall someone saying there was an interview with them, and they were asked specifically about bonnaroo. They said theyd love to play as I recall

I can totally get behind this. I don't listen to them often - but I saw them a few years ago and they put on one mean show. If you like rock and roll and want a good high energy rock and roll show this is where you'll get it.

With all the hype on the new album and an HBO series in the Fall certainly 2015 is when they will tour the most they have in a while. I'm hoping their concert dates will let us know whether to buy a local ticket or hold hope for Bonnaroo.
I've never seen them live and don't consider myself a huge fan but when I saw their show live streamed from the carrier I realized I knew most of them.

I would be more suprised if they aren't at Bonnaroo next year than if they are. I've never seen them live, and like many of you, they aren't really a "go to" for me usually. I'd still really like to see them live. I had tickets for Lolla a few years ago but a "super awesome" girlfriend who got "sick" on Sunday ( the only day of our Chicago trip we were supposed to do anything that wasn't horrible and boring lol ) which I later learned was due to the fact it was going to rain and she wouldn't be able to wear makeup....

We didnt last too long after that!
that make up comment has me speechless lol wth. sorry you missed out tho!
Yeah I just knew early morning that going would be miserable for both of us so I sold the tickets on craigslist and made it home in time to watch them put on a damn good show in a downpour on the webcast. Has sort of vaulted them towards the top of my...Need to see one day... list ever since.

Oh man this is exciting. I saw them a few years back and loved their show!! Some of their music can seem kinda generic but when they get on stage they rock the hell out. Plus with this behind them, I can only imagine a roo show including some friends off Sonic Highways being one amazing show!!
Music Midtown: 2011 Bonnaroo: 2012 - 2016 Forecastle: 2013 Rock al Parque: 2014 420 Fest: 2014-2018 Shaky Knees: 2015 - 2019, 2021 Seen tons of local shows since 2004.
anyone want to help me make a slightly threatening "you'd better play bonnaroo or else..." sign to bring to their Voodoo set?
I'm down. Or wait, we should both make them and then if they see more than one they'll feel compelled to contact AC and beg to play. Yeah, that's what'll happen!
I'm gonna go big and hope that both FF and Rush play bonnaroo so they can recreate that magical performance they did for the HOF induction. I'm pretty sure Bonnaroo is the only major fest Rush would play since they would require at least a 3hr set

When I saw Foo Fighters in Toronto in 2008, Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson came out to perform YYZ with The Foos and Taylor Hawkins did Neil Peart's drum solo from Exit Stage Left. It was incredible.
A "hello & handshake" moment with Dave Grohl turned me into more of a blabbering, starstruck idiot fanboy than even Bill Clinton did. If you know me, that's saying a lot.
They played as The Holy Shits again last night in the UK. Sounds like they absolutely killed it. Performed alot of older songs that haven't been played for a while and reworked their hits. Very much hoping they are at Roo next June.
Just re-watched Sonic Highways last night and I got even more excited to see the Foos next month at Voodoo but it also reminded me that now is the time to start working on a #BonnaFoo15 social media campaign

The Foo have never played Bonnaroo, hell they've never played Coachella either. I'm telling you guys that Foo is playing all 4 major fests. Foo has a new album set for Nov, this whole week they will be on Letterman premiering new songs, and they turn 20 years old as a band. We have no dates to go on that they will be at Roo, but seriously why wouldn't Bonnaroo get them. IMO they are the best rock band in the US, and have never lost their identity in their 20 year history. 2015 is the Year of the Foo.
If you are curious what kind of setlist a 2.5 hour Foo show would like, check out this set from 2011 Wasting Light tour where I saw them in Buffalo, NY. It's the 3rd greatest show I've ever seen.
1.Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar- Yeezus tour Toronto 2013 2. Smashing Pumpkins- Oceania Tour 2012 Toronto Front Row 3. Foo Fighters- Wasting Light Tour 2011 Buffalo 4. St. Vincent- St. Vincent Tour 2014 Buffalo Front Row 5. The National- Lolla 2013 Chicago
