It's a cool idea but I don't see Umphrey's happening on Thursday night. I'm thinking a long midday What Stage would be a logical next step for the Umph.
I'm inclined to agree. Plus they said no late night and I think Thursday night still counts as late night to be honest. Who's going to say, "Oh no, we're not playing late night. We're playing at 2 a.m. Thursday night! See, that doesn't count."
So yeah, tent closer, mid-day what, or evening on which(maybe second behind which closer) are the only three places I can see them.
We're definitely on the same page here. It just sucks that their set time is going to be way shorter than 2012. That show was a 4 hour epic marathon set and an unreal late night experience. This year's will likely be 90 minutes in the sun.
Umphrey's are obviously the Thursday Night Which Stage headliner....duh.
*in itm voice* There actually won't be a thursday night which stage act. This was confirmed by the Ashley Capps reddit AMA. UM is likely getting a tent closer or main stage slot
I'm still not giving up hope on some Umphrey's involvement in the Mystery Superjam though.
i think they should get various members of UM and Tedeschi Trucks to just do songs off The Last Waltz for two hours. Close with Neil Young coming out for Helpless.
I've seen this thread develop for several years, but I've never been so thoroughly anxious for how the official schedule will turn out. Is anyone working on a new mock with the new RBMA stage yet? As well as the new set of confirmed "club" stage acts?

That is a ridiculously good idea.
Also, I've mixed around my schedule yet again, but I've posted it on here enough for at least this week. I won't be adding club or red bull stages. It's hard enough just doing the big 5.

I forgot, isn't Little Dragon already slated for Sunday? Another prospective late night shot down for me. Wow I am reeeeeally banking on Disclosure, Chromeo, and Cut Copy. There are a good amount of DJs on the lineup, I hope they don't get too many of the prominent slots. If you somehow have Kaskade and Zedd going at the same time, that's total overkill in my opinion.
At this point I'm pulling for a Kanye > Chromeo > Disclosure Friday night followed by a Jack White > Frank Ocean > Cut Copy Saturday night. Ever since the lineup dropped I've been picturing Disclosure in the Animal Collective slot from last year. And Arctic Monkeys is still the real wildcard... Did we get info on which day they're playing? I might have missed it.

I said the same thing about MMJ 2011 and it turned out to be my favorite MMJ show to date. Sometimes their marathon sets can get tedious. On the other hand, I realize a good jam show is directly proportional to the length of the set, so this won't apply to UM. Either way, I'll be as far from their set as possible

I have a wierd feeling they'll be releasing the schedule later than usual this year... but I really hope they release it early. I have so much anxiety about the conflicts. There's already like 25 bands I want to see and I've barred myself from even exploring the lineup further until I see what bands are actually available on my schedule to be seen. I don't want to get myself all hyped about new artists just to disappoint myself when they're conflicting with some of my other favorites.

That was probably a smart choice. I went the "listen to everybody" route and now I'm stuck with 100+ artists I want to see...

This is what I used to think to, but then I realized that even if I end up missing a newly-discovered band that I wanted to see, I've still found a new band that I like, and they might be around my city sometime for a concert. It just seems like a win-win.

I'm with Jazmo. I'd rather put the graft in now than try and fill the gaps at a later date.

Just now popped into this thread, and damn no LN for umph sucks. Love the kanye vs umph idea though. Works for me anyways I really hate waiting for the schedule every year!
There is a lot I like about your mock. But, the idea that Jack White will play unopposed but Kanye and Elton won't is crazy. You have all four smaller stages going against the second biggest name on the line-up, including two rap acts! There is no limit to how much that won't happen.
Oh God your conflicts kill me. Lauryn Hill/Jake Bugg followed by NMH/Janelle/Monae/Ben Howard/A Tribe Called Red? Chance/Umph/Fitz/Phoenix? Lol aside from LNs, where I expect conflicts, you pretty much took all the acts I want to see and lined them up. I sooooo hope the schedule isn't like this.
I don't think that Roo is going to break the trend of unopposed headliners though. I don't see them starting a bunch of acts that people will want to see while Kanye is still on stage.
Also, I've noticed that Omar Souleyman is on a lot of people's LN mocks - he was LN in 2010, do you think he will be again?

A lot of these mocks have very little I want to see on Sunday. That's not a shot at those brave enough to put one together; it's just a byproduct of what we know and what makes sense.
While that's a little disappointing it is also kind of exciting. The thought of having like four or six free hours at Roo sounds kind of great. I'd ride the ferris wheel, there might be a cool movie on, I could go exploring, etc. And then I'd get to sit in the grass and see Elton John after all of that. I actually sorta, kinda hope that happens...
