This is the first year where both the Friday and Saturday headliners are both shows that I need to camp out for at least one group ahead. So the Which closers those days are terrifying to me. I could miss out on two acts that are high on my list (e.g. Phoenix, Frank Ocean, NMH, Artic Monkeys).

First try. Let me know if anything is messed up i.e. wrong dates, duplicates, omissions, typos, etc.
Yes I know there are tough conflicts, you can't make a schedule without them.
Also sidenote I don't see how we're going to fit any artist additions at all. I had to get crafty just to fit the whole lineup in here and I feel like I might still be missing a band or two...
Music Midtown: 2011 Bonnaroo: 2012 - 2016 Forecastle: 2013 Rock al Parque: 2014 420 Fest: 2014-2018 Shaky Knees: 2015 - 2019, 2021 Seen tons of local shows since 2004.

YES I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!
I think The Flaming Lips are Saturday.
And the only cruel things for me on that one is Chance the Rapper vs Washed Out and Darkside ending right as NMH begins. And the fact that I'll have to trek back and forth everywhere and pretty much not get close to anything.
Didn't insider say that Lionel Richie is playing a headliner slot?
If you put him 830-1030 and Jack White 1130-130 that opens up a lot. Obviously there can (will) be another big act on Which between (and overlapping) one or both HL What sets - maybe Phoenix? Maybe FLips? Avetts?
Like: Lionel (830-1030) > Jack White (1130-130) Avett Brothers (10-12)>>> FLips (2-4)
Kanye is Friday, so maybe before or after him? That's possible..... Sat is Lionel -> Jack White Sun is Elton to close.....
With Saturday I don't think insider necessarily meant that it has to be Lionel pre-HL for Kayne on What. Not that you were implying that ITM. I still think Lionel closes Which with Phoenix or VW pre-HL for Kayne.

Headliners play the What stage. It's a lot more likely to be a scenario like Stevie > Jay Z IMO

The only notable thing I saw was that Mastodon originally announced themselves for June 13, so Friday might be the metal tent day?
Alberto, do you have a blank template with boxes available that I could steal? I tried to make my own last year and it looked not good. I enjoy you taking time to do this each year! Looking forward to seeing this years evolution.
I really really hope chvrches plays earlier in the day on Friday so I can see them and still be up front for Kanye. I know they'll be a casualty on my schedule though.

True, but she has said in a past year that she considers top 6 as HLers (not necessarily true every year). IMO its more like a Buffalo Springfield situation. They were billed 4th and played unopposed Which.
That's true, but she said she only considered Lionel Richie a headliner because he is playing a headliner spot. I dont really think Which closing spot is a headliner... It'll be interesting. It's open to interpretation I guess

Alberto I honestly would have waited until you created this thread because I didn't see you posting at all lately. Regardless, pumped to see your first mock already up.
Interested to see where everyone plans on putting Skrillex and Frank Ocean... Total wildcards right now.
(1) Damon Albarn (2) Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds (3) King Khan & His Shrines (4) Ty Segall (5) Ms Lauryn Hill (6) Darkside (7) Kanye (8) Janelle Monae (9) Goat (10) Meshuggah.

If Richie is a What pre-HL, then it likely means that either VW or Phoenix has to be on Which. (Seems as though Avett will close What on Sunday.) I know Richie is billed higher than those two, but I think that has more to do with legend status than his actual draw compared to them. I can't see VW on Which and I think Phoenix would be a Mumford-sized scheduling disaster.

There is always at least one scheduling bust on Which every year. I think it'll be vampire Weekend.
Lionel Richie, according to the lineup and insider is a HEADLINER though, not a pre- HL. Meaning Sat is a double headliner situation like they had with Stevie Wonder (830-1030) into jay-z (1130-130) on what. That is a headliner spot. There is no other way I can see there bring dual headliners on sat.
Vampire Weekend could be the Which closer Sunday.
Oh, and Avett Bros aren't closing What on Sunday. That's Elton John.

Elton John is headling Sunday? Haha. Yeah, meant that Avett is pre-headlining on What Sunday. My bad.
Edit: Regarding the Jay-Z situation in 2010, he was 4th on the lineup and didn't need to play unopposed. Insider said, Lionel > Jack White. If we have a repeat LN What situation, then JW would be LN What and presumably play opposed. It would be the first time Roo ever had didn't have an unopposed headliner. So at best Richie pre-headlines for Jack White. I just think it makes more sense for Richie to play unopposed Which. Its technically still LR > JW, just on different stages

Stop insisting that “because Insider said Lionel’s a headliner, that means he’s a headliner” and comparing this to Stevie/Jay-Z. Jay-Z was fourth on that lineup, and did not play unopposed. Hasn’t Insider said she considers 6 acts headliners?
A lot of other big festivals have a sort-of dueling mainstage setup where it’s easy to see who the 3/6 headliners are. They play at the same time on the mainstages at the very end of the festival day. Bonnaroo has one main stage, and a headliner might start anywhere from 8-11pm, so it’s a lot harder to determine. Most years have 3 ‘top’ headliners and 3ish ‘subheadliners’. Our top headliners are Elton John, Kanye West, and Jack White. Our subheadliners are Lionel Richie, Vampire Weekend and the Avett Brothers -- though Phoenix and Skrillex are pretty much on that level too. All of these acts have headlined festivals or ended up on the ‘top 6’ of headliners at big fests like Lollapalooza. They will all either play the What Stage before one of the top 3, or the What or Which right after. Insider considers these acts headliners, and arguably they are.
In 2009, the headliners were Springsteen, Phish, the Beastie Boys, Nine Inch Nails and David Byrne. In 2011 they were Eminem, Arcade Fire, Widespread, the Black Keys, and arguably Buffalo Springfield, MMJ, and Lil Wayne.
There’s also a million ways to fit Lionel Richie, the Avett Bros, and Vampire Weekend on the What Stage. No wait, there’s actually just one -- putting them on the What Stage, all right before the ‘top’ headliner.
I agree with you that someone’s gonna get shafted on the Which. I just think it’s going to be the Arctic Monkeys, who are billed just low enough to be vulnerable to it. I’ve seen them play two festival shows before, and both were two of the most crowded performances I’ve been to. They have a huge following in the US.
It could happen to Phoenix also, but I think they get LN Which. Which is the same stage, but for some reason a better slot.

NOOOO. If broken bells and AM played at the same time I'd cry

how long you think you'll have to camp out for Kanye?
