I honestly kind of do too. It's hard convincing people to go somewhere that really has to be experienced to fully grasp. I feel it'll be similar to last year though. Tickets should be open until early June/late May.
I have 2 former attendees ready to go, another 2 that went to Coachella with me, and about 4-5 others in the works. Didn't they sell 125,000 in 2011?
I looked it up and they said they had about 80,000 in attendance in 2011. According to wiki (which is you know wiki and the figure needs a citation, they are saying they had 150,000 there. I remember they used to call 80k a sellout but these past couple of years attendance has topped 100k.

I recall the late 90's when she said that she doesn't want white people listening to her music. I was a huge Fugees fan but she changed my mind. I don't accept hate in any form, life's too short for that nonsense. I like her music so we'll see, hopefully she's matured.
Do you also believe the one about Tommy Hilfiger flying into a rage when he learned that young black people liked his clothes? Come on now.
I can understand how pre-2006 jam-banders are salty, but for me this lineup has a ton of depth - meaning conflicts - and is impressive from top to bottom.
I understand it as well, but honestly last year had way less jam than this year. I mean Yonder, UM, John Butler, Slightly Stoopid, that like double last years "jam." I love the jam music, but it has been absent from Roo for a while now. Im going to Summer Camp to get my fix.
this lineup is deep, diverse and should be a great time.

Really glad I decided to do Governors Ball this year to get some of the overlapping artists covered before Roo. There is no way LN is gonna be set up that will be perfect. I also feel like they are gonna pull some real dumb shit and stick Darkside in a weird spot. Ughhhh conflicts!

Yeah, looking at this lineup I also see a ton of potential for LN conflicts, possibly even more than usual depending on how the schedule pans out. That's the only downside to dropping a lineup with a lot of depth.
I'm sure I'm going to get slammed for this but the more I look at the lineup, the less blown away I am. Dont get me wrong, there are loads of great acts...and maybe im just burnt out on festivals, but this lineup is basically just a collection of acts that have either been at every fest over the past two years, or will be everywhere this year. With few exceptions, I feel like almost all of the acts on here that I would want to see are acts that I already have seen, or will see elsewhere. If this was my only festival this year, or maybe the only festival i was attending for the last couple of years, id be ecstatic. I think that has more to do with the number of fests out there these days, as there are only so many acts to go around. But outside of the superjams and a couple of acts here and there, its kind of uninspired to me.
Im sure that ill have a blast, because the late nights are always great and hopefully the schedule lines up nicely, but i was hoping for some new stuff. Easily the best lineup they've had since 2008 or so though, a great collection of talent. Very little filler.
What do you guys think this funkiest dancer thing is? It's billed too high to just be some contest right?
I wouldnt get too excited. Remember the year (2010?) where "Gary Chardonnay" was listed like 18th overall? Bonnaroo is just kind of corny like that, im sure its just a joke.

This is how it is for me. If I hadn't seen Kanye on his tour, I would feel like I needed to be there, but between Coachella and GB I'm seeing pretty much all the acts I want to see on the festival circuit.
It's a really good lineup, but I don't feel bad missing it, if that makes sense.
I'm glad I'm not missing it, because I'm hoping for some sick late nights (really the best thing Roo has going) and for a once in a lifetime show like the D'Angelo superjam. Im just not a huge fan of the folky/americana/jammy stuff, and it seems like that is what distinguishes bonnaroo from its peers this year. Acts like Yonder Mountain arent popping up at Coachella or Lolla, but I also have no desire to see them.

Makes perfect sense. I expressed the same sentiments after seeing the Coach lineup.
As long as you pick two fairly mainstream festivals to hit each year, you should always be able to catch just about everything you're looking for from that year's "festival circuit".
