Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.
That Rolling Stone article also says that Jack White previously played Bonnaroo with The White Stripes and The Dead Weather. Wasn't it The Raconteurs instead of The Dead Weather? It's like they put the bare minimum of effort into it.
EDIT: Yeah, I'm kind of wrong. All 3 have played, but they only mentioned 2. We're both stupid, I suppose.

Just getting introduced to Jake Bugg. Is he a big deal in the UK? I can see him being a huge appeal to the 15-25 year old girl demographic, but I find myself loving his songs. Is that cool?
I just spent some time adding some albums to my Google Play list for everyone on the lineup thus far. There were so many, I had to actually make two. I made it public, so if you use Google Play, feel free to check it out if you'd like. I have a feeling it's going to be a strange, strange music day at my desk lol

He's signed to a major label here so gets good air time. Appeals to young fans and also people who love Paul Weller. He's pretty popular but not a household name yet

I've liked what I've heard from him.

edit: well that's what I heard from a friend who follows the UK music scene to an extent
ed helms was such a big surprise for me. didnt think he would be back for a while
i was surprised by that too. i had a great time at this superjam last year, but i haven't decided if i want to try to get closer for this years or if i want to skip it and do something else?

As someone who has made the switch from Spotify to Google Play since Bonnaroo 2013, I was worried the playlists would be lacking. Thanks!
It may not be the best choice for some of the artists, but for the ones I didn't know, I tried to put their most recent albums up. If you listen to it and think a different album should be added, just let me know
It's that time of year again to start researching bands that you don't know that are on the lineup. I made a spreadsheet with all of the bands on it, a spot to mark if you have listened to them, a spot to give them a grade, and a spot for comments. Doing this in the past has helped me decide who I want to see when the festival gets here. It's too big to add as an attachment on here, but, if anybody wants it send me a PM and I would be more than happy email it to you! Also, I'm pretty damn happy with this year's lineup.

Yes. I think he's catchy as hell and am going to thoroughly enjoy his set.
Woooo! I just made my lineup on the site. So many green names.
Mine is top-heavy. I need more lower line acts. Conflicts will be the death of me.
I have the same thing going. For me, it's partially because I know pretty much the entire top half of the lineup. My knowledge starts to have gaps in the bottom half. I am sure to add more acts to see when I get to researching. Conflicts are gonna be horrible.
Really excited for John Butler Trio after hearing their songs "Oceans" live at red rocks on the Spotify play list Phi posted. Amazing.
I've seen them about 5 times and they are always amazing. He is super talented and every time he plays Ocean, I cry. It's so stunningly beautiful. This is a show not to miss.

Really moving up my list the more I keep listening.

Good!! My favorite CDs of theirs are Live at St. Galen and Grand National. Really solid all the way around. Flesh and Blood is their newest and I like it better than their last CD, but still need to listen more. Of course any live recordings are always great too.

Awesome I will definitely be checking them all out! Thanks!
I recall the late 90's when she said that she doesn't want white people listening to her music. I was a huge Fugees fan but she changed my mind. I don't accept hate in any form, life's too short for that nonsense. I like her music so we'll see, hopefully she's matured.
Do you also believe the one about Tommy Hilfiger flying into a rage when he learned that young black people liked his clothes? Come on now.
And was "cunt" really necessary?
You're right, "cunt" was unnecessary.
The difference between Hilfiger and Hill is that when asked about black and Asians buying his clothes he said his clothes was for everybody. He didn't say he made clothes for white people. Lauren Hill said her comments weren't about supremacy and that she'll continue to make music for her people. "What I did say was that I love my people, black people, and I will continue to make music for them." My only issue is why does it have to be about race? If a white person made the same statements it would be looked at as negative. If somebody like Eminem said he'll continue to make music for white people he'd get a backlash too. What's wrong with just making music for everybody? If she wants to be pro black that's fine, I'm gonna be pro human.
