Do you also believe the one about Tommy Hilfiger flying into a rage when he learned that young black people liked his clothes? Come on now.
And was "cunt" really necessary?
You're right, "cunt" was unnecessary.
The difference between Hilfiger and Hill is that when asked about black and Asians buying his clothes he said his clothes was for everybody. He didn't say he made clothes for white people. Lauren Hill said her comments weren't about supremacy and that she'll continue to make music for her people. "What I did say was that I love my people, black people, and I will continue to make music for them." My only issue is why does it have to be about race? If a white person made the same statements it would be looked at as negative. If somebody like Eminem said he'll continue to make music for white people he'd get a backlash too. What's wrong with just making music for everybody? If she wants to be pro black that's fine, I'm gonna be pro human.

It just seems like you are looking for a reason to continue disliking her based on bad information. If you had never heard the misquote would you pay any attention to her saying she makes music for black people? If you read the snopes article she says she intends her music to be universal. The "if a white person said it" argument is bad too, we are not in a vacuum, this is America, you can't ignore our history or the conditions so many black Americans live in.
Also, you don't accept hate in any form, but you're ready to use the most hateful word you could think of for a woman based on faulty information, then continue hating her once that bad info is debunked?
Hey, I remember one time I thought Lauryn Hill was racist. Then I posted it on the internet and everyone posted links proving I was being dumb, so I stopped thinking that.
If Lauryn Hill didn't want white people listening to her music, logically, I don't think she would ever sign a contract to play a festival in Manchester TN.

Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.
I didn't know that the quote/story was a misinterpretation of what she said that turned into gossip/rumor. I also didn't really care what she had supposedly said. Doesn't affect the music.

Has Bonnaroo always listed the Superjam as "Superjam ?" on the initial lineup? I can't recall in previous years but I wonder if the question mark is there to symbolize Which Stage or if I'm just looking too far into it.

I'm hoping this is a superjam that the artists will be named later.
edit: last year the hip hop superjam was named later.

Not as excited about this year's lineup, but there's plenty of bands I want to see, mostly in the undercard. I figure I can go get something to eat, wander around and set up for a superjam during Kanye West's set.

mstaper - if there's no conflicts on your schedule I'm going to formally request you tape White Denim and Seasick Steve. Fingers crossed

Funny that I was just listening to a White Denim video. Definitely want to see them and Seasick Steve. Just hope we can get the gear in again. Will tape them both if the stars line up.

it used to be that they never announced who was in it, it was just on the schedule as "superjam"

My biggest issue is going to be the Which closer on Friday. I also wanted to see Lionel but... basically I just hope neither Arctic or Phoenix or Frank to close Which on Fri or Sat which is near impossible. Frank could be late night, either phoenix or Arctic could pre for Kanye. The sunday pre is technically open but people seem sold on it being avetts.
My best guess would be pre headlining for Kanye. At least that's what I'm hoping.
Im definitely trying to be on the rail for VW so I'm trying to figure out how early ima have to get in line for the pit
I have a feeling if VW opens and kanye plays an hour later, it will be a very polarizing crowd. Most likely you will have a buildup of people waiting for the Kanye pit rather then VW so make sure you notice the difference in lines.
I've seen them about 5 times and they are always amazing. He is super talented and every time he plays Ocean, I cry. It's so stunningly beautiful. This is a show not to miss.
Really moving up my list the more I keep listening.
Got to see John at a tiny festival in New Jersey last year from the front row. "Ocean" will always be one of my best concert experiences.
He's not known for his music and I don't think he'd become a famous musician had he never done the acting/comedy stuff but he's good on the banjo and has a love for the genre. The Bluegrass tent last year was awesome. So much collaboration and talented acts.
