I slept on it. Such a solid lineup. Top to bottom. Can't wait to see what more acts and comedy are added. The top 20 is astounding and I can't even believe the undercard. That being said I will not be attending this year.
No, I think it's amazing. Most of my crew wants to go to Firefly over Roo (which I can't say no to). Yesterday I didn't think I had time/money for both. I went over my record collection and found a few I could let go to cover pretty much all the costs of both festivals and I said why not both? So I'm going to Firefly with my friends and to my fourth Roo but my first time alone it seems.

No, I think it's amazing. Most of my crew wants to go to Firefly over Roo (which I can't say no to). Yesterday I didn't think I had time/money for both. I went over my record collection and found a few I could let go to cover pretty much all the costs of both festivals and I said why not both? So I'm going to Firefly with my friends and to my fourth Roo but my first time alone it seems.
If you want someone to catch some shows with, let me know. There's a beer on me with your name on it.

I can dig it. I appreciate that. As the festival approaches I'm going to have to get contact info from people around here. I'm actually looking forward to experiencing it alone for the first time.

Glad it's not just me! Are you driving yourself down or flying? I can't picture it being worth driving 12 hours with just little ol' me so I'm contemplating flying. Ideally I'd find someone passing through my area or meet people somewhere. If I wasn't going to Firefly the next week I would love to cycle there. Oh well.

i'm driving from Columbus, which is only around 6 hours. i was thinking about doing firefly too, but i doubt i can get someone to watch my dog for that long. especially since i plan on volunteering or doing this externship, both of which require me to arrive early.

Awesome man. I'm doing the festival with just my GF this year, and really want to meet some inforooers this year. Last year I wanted to, but got too sucked up in my own group. I think a smaller group/solo has a lot of positives. You don't have to debate which shows to go see. You don't need to move in a huge pack, so you can get way better spots. Also, you can just roam around like a lunatic, which is especially fun.

I went with some of my best friends on the planet last year and I wouldn't change a thing, but you're exactly right. There's a lot of freedom and I won't have to keep track of anyone else. I have enough trouble with me. I got really sucked into my group as well and didn't branch out to meet a bunch of people like I did my first two years.

Thank you! I'm hoping to find a group within maybe a 2 hour drive of me and ride down with. I'd really prefer it to flying. I see people from Buffalo/Toronto every year that drive in and I'm hoping to find some people in the coming months.
I'm glad they are not there. I am fan of their music, but their last set at Bonnaroo was pretty lame. It is one of the most phoned-in sets I've ever seen anywhere. I'm still pissed at myself for bailing on Plant for them. People think Kanye is not worthy of a return, but doing a set with obvious disinterest is a worse offense.
edit: I will say that the crowd did bring the entertainment value up for this set with the dancing shaaman and a lot of nude dancing.
I've watched the video of their bonnaroo set almost 100 times, it was great. I guess if you don't get/like the whole Strokes persona it's not good, but I thought they were awesome

Going solo can be great for this reason. I hate getting dragged to shows and feeling like I have to stay... If I'm not feeling an act, I am going to wander to the next. Even the years I went with big groups, the only times I really went to shows with them was like the first show of the day, and top 3 headliners... Don't get me wrong- I love meeting up with them at times to have a beer or a slice of spicy pie; but I just want to do my thing and not worry about the baggage.
