They're a touring band who play pretty much the same set ever night. A bonnaroo superjam are a unique cast of revolving musicians who play songs together that they otherwise would not. Please tell me how Chic is a superjam?

I meant in the sense that it's just a huge dance party and the chic/Nile catalogue is so deep, it reminds of a SJ. I meant the feel/style of the concert, obviously it wouldn't be a real SJ.
They tell us "Rock'n'roll is the devil's music." Well, let's say we know that rock is the devil's music, and we know that it is, for sure … At least he fuckin' jams! If it's a choice between eternal Hell and good tunes, and eternal Heaven and New Kids on the fuckin' Block … I'm gonna be surfin' on the lake of fire, rockin' out.

How high would The Decemberists be billed this time around? I tried to see them in 2011 but couldn't escape the sun and had to bail. Seem like they'd make a good Which closer to me with the new album coming out. Just not sure how big they are at the moment.
Sooooo, I saw Julian Casablancas + The Voidz yesterday at a local one day festival and I had heard VERY differing reviews on the album (some saying best of the year while others call it garbage) leading up to going. So I decided to not listen to it before attending the fest so I'd be able to have an honest and candid opinion on the material. The first two songs were pretty darn good and I was digging it UNTIL it turned into just a bunch of noise, then it basically became an obnoxious shizty metal show. Thank god for the final song (it felt very ethereal) because it was FAR better than the entire middle section of the set. So I'm in agreement with Rory on this album being god awful.
What at im trying to say is, I have NO desire to see Julian Casablancas + The Voidz on the farm, but I'd be happy if they showed because they'd be a big draw that I could skip

The Decemberists played Bonnaroo following the release of each of their last three albums, so I would say that they're pretty likely this year. They were billed 12th in 2011, so my guess is that they would be billed somewhere in the 10-15 range. I could see them as either a Which closer or a late afternoon What stage act before the What stage pre-headliner.
I'm not saying this is right but i could def get behind this lineup. somebody put this on reddit.
Man I counted 62 acts I'd want to see on this lineup, and almost every single one of my favorite artists that I haven't seen live is on there. Fuck that, there would be way too many conflicts

You're not saying that an impossibly stacked lineup posted to neckbeard central in the middle of October is right? Get out of town, I think this is legit! SEEMS LIKELY.

i think there is a good possibility that this lineup has a lot of acts that will be at roo.

Maybe like 10-15 of them if we're lucky. That lineup is beyond unrealistic

have you seen the lineup the past few years. a little unrealistic maybe but last years was insanely stacked. i count minimum 30 as being realistic. headliners aside.

Yes, I've been the past two years. And by looking at the lineups there is no way you can think they'd put out a lineup with Thom Yorke, Beck, and Kendrick Lamar outside of the top 10. It also has arguably the most popular electronic producer in the world at the moment(not DJ) halfway through.

i totally understand what you are saying there. the order is not correct and also there is too much. i just think that there are lots of acts possible/likely there. i wasnt signing off on it.
Really hoping for Phantogram this year, they were awesome on thursday night in 2012
what kind of slot do you think they'd get now a days? friday evening tent?
I hate having missed em in 12. Friday evening tent. Maybe a late night but I feel like a sunset tent set is more likely.
Yea I didn't think they'd garner a late night spot, though it would be awesome. Guess they could take Policia's spot. They were late night I believe as well

Milo Greene has a new single out and album comes out Jan. 27th. They had a great set their first time on the farm and the fact that they switch instruments every few songs was really impressive live.

Polaris, aka the band that recorded the soundtrack for The Adventures of Pete & Pete, is touring.
And I had a dream where it was actually plausible that Bonnaroo would book them, where Bonnaroo actually took place in mid-October amid a landscape of fallen leaves, and where I was bundled up in a hoddie underneath The Other Tent watching their set.
But it's going to be 105 degrees in June, and if they hit any festivals it would probably just be Coachella.

Heart will be in Ohio June 16th. They played Letterman with the Foo Fighters so they obviously have some kind of relationship. Bring them both and put them into the most rockin superjam ever.

A lot of the acts here would represent undercard to the heights of a headliner. Scroll through and watch some of the best live acts working today that some May or may never have heard of. Two that I have fingers, eyes, toes, and everything else crossed for are St. Vincent(easily the best act I've see this year, and in my top 5 ever), and an act I just found out about: Future Islands. Watch their sets and see why they must be at Roo next year!

They are bigger now, so I think they might get the same spot as Chrvches did this year in the Other. 7:30-8:45. I really hope they get a LN at 12:00-1:15. There would have to be one hell of a headliner to stop me from getting a solid spot for them, they are amazing live. Saw them twice this year, and they exceeded my expectations to the fullest! LN set by them would be unreal!

You're just learning about Future Islands? They were at like every festival this year.

The only major US fest they played was Coachella. They didn't play Bonnaroo, Lolla, Sasquatch, Austin City Limits, or Governor's Ball. They played a lot of fests overseas. 2015 will see them as a high demand act for most of the fests next year.
