what do people think about the Kongos' chances of being at bonnaroo. could see them as a thursday night act or in the tents anytime that weekend..
Not sure, but Kongos > Royal Blood Thursday night would be a badass way to start the weekend.
Sadly with that Royal Blood opening slot for Foo in the summer, this will be one of the acts most people expected to throw down at Roo but won't be there. Kongos might get a Friday-Sunday slot, they're getting pretty big- but Thurs would be better. Really good live for anyone who hasn't seen em yet!

Come on Rory, with his name, you can't expect him to know what he's talking about unless it's EDM
You may want to read his screen name again. Slowly.
As if the way I read it initially would lead me to believe that he only listens to one genre of music.... The exact OPPOSITE of what his actual screen name portrays.... yeah right!!!

thank you phi, I withdraw this statement, though I did get a good laugh at myself
I thought that album sucked, what does that have to do with my music tastes....
I've seen The National, Al Green, Bassnectar, George Clinton, Nine Inch Nails, Pearl Jam, Florence and the Machine, The O Jays, St. Vincent, Frank Ocean, Green Day, Kenny Chesney, and more live. I listen to all kinds of music.

ya know i really wanted to defend you… then you said "green day"
Most people are split on his vocals haha. If you really want to have a good "Passion Pit" experience: get to the front like I did.
I am on the side that isn't very fond of his vocals. I maintain respect for what they are doing, but their pop sound is far too overbearing for me.
I was up front for Passion Pit at Coachella in 2013, waiting through Metric, PP, Modest Mouse, Stone Roses into BLUR!
Maybe it was my excitement for Blur that made the Passion Pit lead singers frolicking on stage entirely maddening. To each their own.
Watching the crowd reaction at Lolla '11, as they sat through a Passion Pit set waiting for Black Sabbath, was one of the better crowd experiences I've had at a festival. Passion Pit is miserable live.

To be fair if one were to list shows that they've seen (not necessarily enjoyed or attended freely) then I might have Linkin Park (2)...
But if I was going for eclectic I might say I've seen KEN mode, The Zombies, Dawn of Midi, Death Grips, Shuggie Otis, Jimmy Edgar, The Master Musicians of Jajouka, Colin Stetson, Nick Cave, The Weeknd, Bob Dylan, and the Sun Ra Arkestra.

Sturgill Simpson. Sunset. Which Stage. 1pm. Other Tent.
For comparison's sake, I saw AA Bondy twice before Bonnaroo 2009. Both times, there were around 20 people in attendance. Sturgill is far more popular than a 1 PM Other Tent spot.
