For comparison's sake, I saw AA Bondy twice before Bonnaroo 2009. Both times, there were around 20 people in attendance. Sturgill is far more popular than a 1 PM Other Tent spot.
He's probably bigger than I'm giving him credit for, just saw a video where he mentioned opening for Zac Brown.

He is selling to his market audience. His style of music may not be as popular with the Bonnaroo general masses. I've seen Ryan Bingham sell out large venues in Texas and yet play a Sunday early tent spot at Roo. When Jamey Johnson and Miranda Lambert both played tents in 2011 they were more popular than Simpson is now . I wouldn't have given Sturg a chance at an early Which spot if Roo hadn't given artists like Jason Isbell and Kasey Musgraves that time slot recently.

I hope you're right because his Raleigh show is sold out, and I ain't gotta ticket! Banking on him there (at some time, at some stage) this year.

Are these hopes or expectations?
One would assume hopes. If all of that gets book the conflicts are going to be mind numbing.
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
Have you guys talked about Jagwar Ma yet? You guys should talk about Jagwar Ma now. Anyone see them before?
I have them n my Roo wish list for sure. I haven't caught them yet. There among a few that are on my list that just haven't been around here or the fests that I've been going to.

I was thinking about then while cooking dinner tonight! I think they'd be a great add this year. I think they did the UK fest circuit last year, so maybe 2015's our year.
Jagwar Ma Thursday LN would be Darkside level of awesomeness
You better calm down.... 1. I don't think they're big enough to get a Friday or Saturday LN (so either weekend afternoon tent or a late act on Thursday) 2. It would be awesome, but not on par with Darkside. Darkside was quite possibly the peak of Bonnaroo latenights
I really hope they are at roo, but I'd pretty bummed if they got a LN show because I'm almost certain I'd have to skip it due to conflict.

people really shouldn't say LN Thursday. 1am is not that late. LN is considered post headlinerFriday and Saturday.

I really hope Future Islands gets that Darkside closing spot on Sat.
It would be amazing if Modest Mouse got the same LN spot as Flaming Lips did last year. I'd also settle for a Phoenix time slot on Which.
I think Death Cab for Cutie could get that VW slot from last year, even without Mr. Walla: people would still have demand to see this band.
Fingers crossed for The Decemberists to get that pre-headliner spot on What on Sunday. I thought Avett Brothers getting that slot last year was one of my favorite scheduling moves.
Run the Jewels getting a closing slot after the ? Superjam just like Chance's triumphant set would be great.
D'angelo could get the same slot as Ms. Lauryn Hill, but with a full band could be aiming towards a LN like Frank Ocean. Either way I'll be there.
I have no idea where Weezer would go. A cake slot on Which would seem to early to me, because their catalog is easily worth a 90 min. I can't see them in a tent, so it's feeling like a Which or What.
Really hope Glass Animals gets the same time slot as MS.MR. Their music is danceable and groovy but I think they'd benefit from playing 7:30-8:45. Or even the Cherub slot of last year would be awesome, but 12:00-1:15? I would probably sit that one out for RL Grime or Gramatik.

I feel you on that, but when they release the LN acts they always include Thurs-Sat.

2014 was the first year, I was looking at previous years and Thurs was no apart of LN mentions. My bad. I think the way they did it last year, does make the Thurs later acts more intriguing. When I saw that White Denim was playing a LN thurs I was shocked, but there was less conflict for me by seeing them thurs because I had already saw J Roddy.
