Anybody else notice that TVOTR has been scarce on the festival circuit this year? Same with DFA1979? Passion pit? Alt-J? What gives haha.
I think it's a bit too early to make that judgment call. Only a handful of festivals have announced their full lineups. Passion Pit is already scheduled to play three U.S. festivals in March, and in addition to Coachella, Alt-J will be playing festivals in Europe throughout the summer, so those two will be active this year. Not sure how active TVOTR and DFA1979 will be on the festival circuit (both bands played a few festivals last year).
TV on the radio is playing buku and is supposed to tour soon, they just released a new album in November. DFA1979 played a few fests last year including Voodoo.

just checked out Benjamin Booker for the first time, and yeah for sure will be at his show, I'm expecting mid day thursday, it would be cool if it was that night though
My friend saw Benjamin Booker in Orlando not too long ago and said he was completely drunk but was amazing. He said it seemed like he had trouble standing at times but still put on a good show. I want to see him at Roo.
I was thinking we might get Sleater-Kinney since coachella didn't! And I was thinking that given the historic nature if D'Angelo's super jam performance back in 2012, he may want to do bonnaroo exclusively (or at least do it before other fests)
I think I read somewhere that Sleater Kinney might not be doing anything over the summer because that's when Carrie films Portlandia but I can't remember where it was and I could be wrong

I bet you are right, their upcoming tour is pretty hardcore as far as playing a lot of shows in a short amount of time and finishes in May. They might not have had a lot of calender days to work with. That also doesn't mean they wouldn't be open for some one-off type festival shows though. Let's hope! I'm catching them in April just in case.
A few weeks ago Bonnaroo favorited one of my tweets about how they should bring Broken Social Scene out of hiatus. While I still think nothing of it (BSS would be amazing though), I wouldn't be surprised if Bonnaroo books more Canadian bands than usual this year since Ashley Capps partnered up to bring a Bonnaroo style fest to Toronto.
Definitely think they'll have some canadian acts to possibly give a glimpse of what to expect at the other fest in July. BSS, Metric, Tanya Tagaq would all be great.

If Metric was at Roo I would fucking die. Haven't gotten to see them live yet and they are one of my faaaaavorites. Would probably be my top show tbh.
2014:
April 05 - Twenty One Pilots
May 15 - Lana Del Rey
May 30 - Why?
June 12-15 - Roo '14
June 24 - Arctic Monkeys
September 05 - Twenty One Pilots
September 23 - Lorde
September 26 - Why?

I've seen them twice, and they are one of the best kept secrets working today.
I'd say it's more likely he plays CMA fest in Nashville the same weekend. But I'd see him if he's there, he puts on a pretty good show. Mpre rock oriented then any other current country act.

Forgot about CMA Fest. Assuming he's only playing one festival that has to be it. Would both festivals be likely since I'd assume they are two very different crowds? Probably not...
