Anyone here make it to the Silent Disco set? I was in the campgrounds when I heard about it; beebee, her sister and I then booked it over to Centeroo but there was already a mass mob forming and we weren't able to make it in. I was really surprised that the Silent Disco was where they were doing it; he's way too big to only have such a small crowd able to see his show. I'm wondering though if it was an actual performance or if he was just there hyping shit up as Coloring Book played through the headphones - from what I saw on the snaps he didn't seem to have a microphone.
As much as I would've enjoyed checking out this/the Miguel suprise acoustic set, I was super close for FJM with 0 regrets

Glad you enjoyed FJM. I heard he sounded great on the Which.
I ended up not even trying for color book because I was sitting in This tent waiting for Lettuce to come on and decided I would rather hear real music than an album I've already listened to sans Chance's presence.
Although when I got the message about Miguel it was 15 into Lettuce so I booked it to the disco tower. It was a pretty small crowd and it was cool when he rolled up on the buggie. They had a small stage and two speaker set up. Didn't sound the best but Miguel had wonderful stage presence, wish I could have caught his actual set instead.

First of all, most people at Roo were thinking he would be performing coloring book through a mic into headphones. Everyone got there early for him, but they handed out no headphones. Then, a massive line formed and people were crowding outside because we thought maybe he was somehow doing a set in there out loud. Again, nobody had headphones. Chance comes out wayyy later than 5, when scheduled btw. Many people had their Father john Misty set ruined by that, but hey it may have been worth it right? Wrong. They bring out headphones and CLEAR OUT THE SILENT DISCO and send the people who got there earliest to the back of the monstrous line. Needless to say, none of them get in, and they are all 4 songs late to FJM or whoever they wanted to see. The levels of incompetency here were astounding.

I was so ready to give you an enthusiastic yes, but i think I'm gonna be doing WK2 of ACL then. Which also in effect prohibits me from catching that Raleigh show the day after. Dammit! Really wanted to catch him on this tour.

Yeah, it's about 3 hours for me, but still worth it IMO. I don't care for The Meadows lineup and it's like $230 bucks so I really doubt I'll be doing that.
I'm gonna be freakin' abroad during this tour. If his Europe dates don't include a London date some time between his last NA date in October and early December when I come back, I'll be bummed.

i definitely thought about it, but i'm already coming to dc on the 10th for adele. if i was going with ben, i'd make him stay for the whole weekend, but i'm bringing a friend who wouldn't be interested. also, this is all dangerously close to my sister's due date and i will be murdered if i leave town and my nephew is born.

If osheaga was in the fall, it's totally still be on my radar. But I just couldn't swing going up to a Canada fest in like a month :/ I'm jealous as hell of you though. That Friday of the fest is actual perfection (or whichever day it is that is like Rufus du Sol, Lane 8, M83, Grimes, RH all together). Hurts me just to type it out. Ugh.
And I actually might only do a day pass for RH's day. Aside from LCD, there isn't a whole lot that grabs me on their day. This could change though... It isn't as if I need to see them "again and again and AGAIN." I've only seen them once at this point!! Which, yes, is not enough to suffice for my lifetime.

Yeah I am disappointed in the venue choice for SD, but still snagged a couple tickets this morning because I'm well overdue on seeing him. Was really hoping for something indoors, and a little smaller.

Split the weekend and do both!
Unfortunately Sunday is the day I'm most torn about for both. Kanye and Chance is nice but Wu-Tang, David Byrne, and Nile Rodgers all backed by the Roots is pretty damn hard to pass up. Undercards are about even for me, with a slight edge to Meadows.
Also, last night I dreamed that Chance the Rapper only played a two-song set at Roo next year, and he opened with "Mixtape". It was not my favorite set of his.
