This has to be the first time anyone has ever mentioned La Bouche on this board and it was well over due.
Confession: Whenever I go to a bar that has a digital jukebox, I put La Bouche on over and over and over again. The look on people's faces the 5th time Be My Lover comes on is delightful.
And now ya got me f'n jammin to it at work! la da da dee da dee dad dda aada d

I mean I knew this show was going to be pretty damn packed, now that I realize the other three acts at the same time are edm or techno or whatever we're calling it now. Anybody not wanting to see that will be there
EDM's a fine term y'all, come up with something better why don'tcha
electronica's long and sounds dumb
dance's too general
subgenres (house, trance, dubstep etc) too specific for basic purposes
EDM works
live with it
Actually, EDM doesn't work because there's a huge section of Techno (yes, the best generic term) that no sane person would ever dance to. Calling all techno "Electronic Dance Music" makes absolutely no sense.
You've got it all wrong. Techno is not a blanket term. It's a specific genre

I dunno. I think there will be a good size crowd, but no way Darkside has the pull of Zedd or Kaskade. Those are two huge names in EDM right now. People who don't know who the hell Darkside is (which is a lot, the members of this board are not indicative of music fans as a whole) will probably just go to Zedd or Kaskade for the party, even if they aren't big fans.
There is still another unknown set after Frank Ocean right? Have we filled that in yet? I printed the clashfinder leak to PDF right after it was done.

I know, I know. But at least it can appear vague. "Techno" - what does that really mean?
But when you say "Electronic Dance Music", immediately you're casting out a lot of "Electronic" music that people don't normally dance to. Maybe it should just be "Electronic Music"?

I have to agree with you... the music knowledge of people on "the interwebz" is going to be quite a bit higher than your average 'Roo attendee.
I'm going to be the guy up front, eating all the mushrooms, and rubbing my nipples.
Some hallucinogens might be nibbled upon on my way to see Nick Cave. I think he'll be the perfect come up music before Darkside owns me, wholly and completely. Ya, it's going to be a good night.
What are you all thinking the crowd will be like for this set?
there isn't going to be to much moving around i imagine, well at least up close for the people that love darkside, and who's brains have left the realm of the afternow

I saw them earlier this year. It's a much bigger party than you would expect.
I wouldn't be surprised if this is right. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of great dancing and partying at The xx last year. They aren't exactly the same but have similar styles. I have really high hopes for this set.
#1 reason I wish I could make Bonnaroo this year is Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and Darkside LATE NIGHT back to back. That is going to be an unreal four hours of music.

It's a festival and, from my experience, crowds are always so much better at festivals. People actually get into the music and move around. Part of what I love about them.
I usually would disagree with you, but I find that's mostly true for Bonnaroo crowds. They don't give a fuck and will throw down. There are weird exceptions though, like last year at Four Tet when I saw nobody dancing anywhere except the very very front.
Oh, and this show is going to be a fucking party. They are pretty funky, and they seem to improvise during their shows, so I have a feeling they will pick up on the awesome Bonnaroo crowd and have fun with it.
