Okkervil River. Along with Bon Iver probably the most talented alt-folk band. Similar to Rural Alberta Advantage, Fleet Foxes. Super earnest and amazing folk rock. The Stage Names is one of my all time favorite albums. Phosphorescent. For fans of earnest male singer/songwriter type music. This kid is like a young Leonard Cohen. Three or four really good albums. Pride and Muchacho are probably the best. Shovels & Rope. Mentioned up-thread. Husband and wife bluegrass duo. They are super fun live. I think they only have one record, but its good. First Aid Kit. Etherial Swedish female folk duo. Emmylou is the best song you've never heard. Seriously, go listen to it on YouTube right now. I'll wait. Warpaint. Etherial all girl group from LA. Very 4AD sounding (for the olds, you know what I mean). Kind of Cocteau Twinsy. Little Dragon. Again with the Sweden. Sort of "textural" whispery rock with a lot of unusual instruments. Kind of like Lykki Li or Tuneyards.
So I was familiar with the majority of the lineup but had never heard of Typhoon. They have some good stuff actually. Acoustic acts rarely impress me these days but they have some really great songwriting going on there.

Cherub is always great fun! (I would also be surprised if you do not see some sort of Big Gigantic surprise appearance with them - they are good friends/have been collaborating a lot lately/I took Big G's tweet to Bonnaroo to hint at something like this)
The Lone Bellow, Shovels & Ropes, and Cherub! All three I just started listeneing to post lineup drop and they are quickly becoming highly anticipated shows.
Saw The Naked and Famous last night opening for Imagine Dragons and they were great. That was at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, where the sound is terrible. Can't wait to see them again on the farm!
Jake Bugg is going to be 2014's Thursday night tent of death, re: Alt-J last year at the This.
I'll be there; at Alt-J last year, I eventually wound up with a decent spot after they carted out all the youngins who spent too much time with a girl whose name rhymes with folly.
Jake Bugg! I was so excited when I saw his name during BLAM. I'm a huge fan. If you don't have anything going on during his show, definitely give him a shot. Great artist.

Ive been checking this guy out and he's awesome. My kinda music for sure. Gimme some bourbon to sip on and just listen to this guy play the blues, I'm in. I'd love a small location, like the Sonic stage, that would be fucking great.

2013: The Stepkids : Dirty Projectors : HAIM : The National : Paul : Animal Collective : R.Kelly : DATSUPERJAM : Byrne & Vincent : SWANS....damn. take me back to 2013
My other fave from down there is J Roddy Walston & the Business
I saw them last time they were at Bonnaroo at Cafe Where and they were AMAZING! They even covered Highway to Hell!
I have some video from that show at Cafe Where in 2011. I apologize for the camera work and also for the zooms. It was a drunk alter ego doing the recording. But since that show I've seen J Roddy 4 or 5 times, and they never disappoint with the energy they bring!
