Dude, even as a townie I need to coast the first couple of rounds just to survive. Everyone just wants to kill me off quick, regardless of my role.
I don't have much to add that I haven't already said, but don't agree that I'm more likely to be mafia just because I've been mentioned more often. also, I don't care how long it's been since surfbum played I don't think any inspector would ever vote for their given name on day one, even casually as VPs because why draw the attention and risk a whack? it's all about playing the odds but day one I think you keep your head down and try to at least make it to one guess.
but if you guys are convinced I'm mafia and putting me in the runoff makes you happy then ok. I'm tired of defending myself against baseless suspicion and I think it's like the roonectar thing on day one- a good chance for mafia to lay low when a lot of the attention seems to be focused in one direction.

I'm not opposed to LD being in the runoff since it seems like he's just trying to get by under the radar.
I've seen this argument made a few times now by several people.
I've legit been busy and not had too much online access in the past week or so. I've read bits and pieces of the game, and right now just catching up for all the posting this weekend. I've been back and forth between Connecticut and Rhode Island since Thursday.
There's a few people I'm suspicious of right now, but for now I'm sitting on Hakuna. When I got more time, hopefully tomorrow, I will explain myself more. I know that doesn't ease anyone's suspicions - but what would?

Honestly, I don't feel a strong desire to vote for Hakuna. There isn't anything that he's specifically done that's jumped at me. Boner is playing crazy, but it seems stupid to throw a vote his way. It'd prob just look petty and retaliatory, with him having accused me of being Mafia with O'Neil. We should have a clearer picture going into Day 3. Right now I think there's as bunch of people chasing after nothing, and at least two of the Mafia are slipping under the radar.

Back in the day, MikeD was Mafia more often than not for a bunch of games. It became a running gag that MikeD was Mafia in every game, more often than not he was. Now, Hakuna is in the role of being Mafia more often than not.
I don't have any particular reason to believe he's Mafia in this game, I'm just playing the odds based on this current streak he's in. It's arguable my vote is merely a placeholder.
There are a few things that bother me about LD. I would vote for him because he has stated his desire to coast through the first few rounds and his vote has been locked on someone he says he doesn't have a real reason to vote for. That vote has been on hakuna since day one and hasn't changed. That sticks out to me, because why would you just bury your vote on someone the whole game if you're not actually suspicious? How does that help the town?
Hakuna has been extremely aggressive and very vocal. Having more activity is probably a good thing since we didn't get much out of the first round. This could also be a veteran mafia trying to take advantage of a generally quiet town by trying to sway votes, but I don't have any way to know that right now except that he's got a reputation for being mafia regularly. There is plenty of aggression from Hakuna towards someone I don't really feel any way about. Since we don't know what oneil is we can't really say if it's misguided or not. Dialogue is the key though, and Hakuna does bring that.
Of my two main suspicions, I'm going with the one I feel will be the least helpful to the town in figuring out whats going on here.
is everybody else locked in? I'm not but want to hear from others. I feel like I've been very vocal and while a few others have been too there have also been some fairly quiet players. where is all the chatter now? can we get an updated tally? is everyone just ok with LD and pfunk in a second runoff?
so many questions and no answers. I'm in meetings again today until 4 but will try to check in. I would like to see Hakuna in there just because he came at me without any real reason IMO.. but I'll hold for now.

I know that runoff round ended pretty abruptly and that's probably goin to be the excuse from some people. At this point it wouldn't surprise me at all if our mafia is PFunk, Oneil, and Boner. Boner, I really don't get you voting for LD. I'm pretty over this game already.

I'm not making this easy for you, I'm not going to distract this game with arguments anymore. It's not worth my energy. Go back and find your answer I can agree with you on one thing hakuna... Fuck this game. Nobody wants to put any effort into it, or are too scared they'll look suspicious? I dunno, all I know is we only had a handful of posts in a 24 hour span. 2 votes in the first round of a runoff and nobody knows what's up.
No, I get it. I understand it. That kinda came out wrong. Basically I feel EXACTLY how you do with that last post and I don't think voting off LD goes hand in hand with that. Obviously nitpicking and can understand the other side of that argument. I think we are shooting for the same goal but have been fundamentally opposing each other on just about every situation. It's a good and bad thing at the same time, and well if you are mafia then good job, you've prob got this game in the bag.
To be honest Boner, I still don't fully understand why LD is in this position now. Your initial vote for him was to give minimal influence on the votes of Oniel, Pfunk and Ella, not as suspicion of LD himself. You got your wish and got 2 of them in the runoff. I am curious now if you are really suspicious of LD or feel you shouldn't have changed your vote because Oniel and Pfunk were both voting for LD with you. I know you don't agree with his playing style. Feel free to respond, but it's kind of a rhetorical question too. I will have time to look at this more in depth this evening and may find the answer myself, but right now that is the biggest thing I see that doesn't add up to me.
I am keeping my vote where it is, but really did not see why LD ended up being such a big figure in the runoff, would have been much more plausible to have o'neil there with the way conversations were going, so it looked incredibly shady for pfunk to throw that third vote on LD
