I have not been all over the place on this.! I've had to twist and bend through the rule change, but I have been VERY FIRM, on wanting to wait until the very last second, before we voted out roonectar. I must have said this AT LEAST 5 times today.

Honestly the way your playing feels very townie, but the same reason you are suspicious of those going for no runoff, I'm just suspicious of how hard you pushed to keep him around. I think mafia are in a position this game where they can do some crazy play and get away with it. Ex. Sticking up for roo and having your fellow mafia attack it, fake arguments, that kinda stuff.
I followed very closely yesterday(obviously). I was quoted atleast 10-12 times and responded within minutes of being quoted. What's most telling to me is when someone disappears after I've responded to them. That's the one think you have going for you as far as I'm concerned.

I hate posting from my phone but I've had 7 am-7 pm meetings for the past three days so it's been a challenge. Originally, I thought he would get kicked from the game for missing 2 votes. I thought run off votes counted. They always counted before.
Sleep clarified how the rule would be enforced. I adjusted my stance because roonectar now had more time, and I would rather take a shot at someone who could reply, than someone who didn't know he was playing, it's like voting for a brick wall.
Sleep then made a compromise on the rule to say if he didn't show up by the end of the night 1, he would be removed. So now, instead of having another game day, he was back to being removed if he didn't show by the end of day 1. I still wanted a runoff, because he would have only missed 1 vote by that time. I wanted him in the run off in the probability that he didn't show up. That way, we could still remove him and not look anyone else.
What you see as me switching up, was actually me keeping the exact same position all the way through the 3 different versions of a rule.i thought I understood correctly.
If you were ONLY reading my posts, I would look like a crazy person. If you read every post I between, then what I just said above you'll be perfectly clear.
None of this is meant as a shot at you sleepy, shit happens, we can sort out after the game so there's less confusion going forward.

I'll try to clarify a little bit. I attribute that statement to the fact that I really wasn't sure what to do with roonectar at the time. Would it be a good thing to eliminate him immediately or give him a chance to reappear at the last minute via sending him to a runoff? I certainly didn't have an argument for either side I felt conviction in, so I was happy to sit back and see what the town thought. In this case, I don't have any problem with him getting voted out right away since it seemed to me that if he didn't show (which I don't think he would) he would have lost whatever runoff he was in anyway.
For clarification, the "take care of itself" was not meant to imply we let it ride and have roonectar get ref killed. In my mind he was either gonna show back up or get killed by the town. Both cases solve the problem, so one way or the other, roonectar's inactivity was gonna get fixed. I just didn't feel comfortable taking a side during that particular part of the discussion. I even said I didn't have much to contribute at the beginning of that same post, so hopefully it wasn't too surprising when I came out without any firm statements about the situation.

It's kinda weak reasoning for surfbum to throw suspicion on someone who really didn't say much, and to me, seems like mafia could read it as if he was inspector leaving a trail of bread crumbs incase he gets whacked. It's either that, or his opening vote for o'neil. Surf bum also mentions me in there, so I'll be looking at people who try to come up with a grand theory of this whack pointing to me being mafia.

Very, very interesting whack. Surf bum voted o'neil and cast suspicion of pfunk. O'neil voted for surfbum. Mike D voted for pfunk and surfbum. Boner also voted for surf bum and was quick to suggest pfunk already.
I think the o'neil vote was more likely what got him whacked. If it was his pfunk suspicion, MikeD was probably just as good of a whack as Mike voted for him as well and is always in the day 1 whack conversation(when ever I am mafia anyways) as he is a strong player. The argument against that is Mike probably wouldn't tip his given name like that if he was inspector and surfbum brought it up after the kill but before the whack, thinking he very well could be the whack. I do think surfbum was targeted round 1 and probably was inspector. I think the pfunk suspicion was enough to send us down the wrong path. Either that or the mafia is totally playing me based on my suspicions, and me alone, and trying to send me down the wrong rabbit hole, really don't think that is the case and if it is the well done.

I think the runoff should be atleast 2 of Mike, O'neil, and Boner. I'm least suspicious of Boner and think he may just be caught in the mix but I'm mot sure. I think it's fine if we want to thrown pfunk in the mix too, just cause I think the votes would be pretty telling.

I don't really see the reasoning behind voting someone off just because they haven't posted. I am asking purely because I don't understand the reasoning, and maybe I should change my vote too? or not because you want a runoff?
SOrry, just really confused. I haven't played in probably 2 years
. This was the reason I voted for surfbumdj. The thought was that surf had played before, I wasn't sure how experienced he was, but played none the less. At the time, I felt with the roonectar situation (this is before things went crazy town), any townie would be concerned about losing 3 people in one day, and mafia would hope that it would go unnoticed until it was too late. In other words, if it went to a runoff, mafia would prefer roonectar wasn't in it, then we would lose 3 people if he didn't show.
I wanted to see who would try to sweep the roonectar thing under the rug, but without the whole thing being out in the open. I felt surfbum was just playing dumb in the quote about, to open things up. Obviously I was wrong in this suspicion.
When I actually voted for surf, mike ninja'd me while I was typing. My interest was to have surf and roo in the runoff, so when jimmy voted for Roo, I switched to surf, but then say mikes vote. At this point, I started to look at who else should go into a runoff, but the roonectar situation exploded and the rest is history.

You should go look at the last game i played when bogart no showed for a vote buddy.
After reading through the last game I played (mafia 66). It seems i was off on remembering certain circumstances surrounding the bogart thing. The missed vote wasn't my issue with him, it was his absents in a majority of day 1 into day 2. I got some of the details wrong, but the principal remains the same then as it was last round.
Go ahead and read through page 5-7 of that game Tejas, tell me how out of character I've been.
While the surfbum whack looks to cast suspicion toward pfunk and o'neil, I can't help bit look at it as a way for mafia to continue with the distracting theme from day 1. Hakuna's analysis, while plausible, makes me a little uneasy-- but that may be me being swayed by his role track record as of late. I want to hear some other thoughts before casting a vote, and maybe try to look through the game with a less biased perspective.
Well this whack paints me in a negative light, now doesn't it? This is what happened the first time I played, Mike D was suspicious of me and got whacked and then I spent the rest of the game in the crosshairs. Stop picking on the new guy, ya mafia pricks!
I'm most suspicious of Boner just because of all the mess from the first day. I do have some sympathy for trying to play on your phone, but all the vote changing was pretty crazy from my perspective. You have to take everything with a grain of salt, even if I can believe you did have a hard time using mobile. My issue is I have a hard time connecting the whack to you right now, as you and surfbum we're generally in line with one another on the roonectar runoff thing.
There are a few more people I had on my radar. I can see where Mike D might look suspicious, but I'm not sure I buy it yet. I wonder what his response is to Hakuna's claims. The only way I can think Oneil can be connected to the whack is that she was VPs with surfbum. Grain of salt, though. Ella seemed pretty nonchalant while under fire in Day 1, but that's understandable considering roonectar was the most likely to get the boot at that point. She might be higher on my list.
I have to vote now since I won't be available until tomorrow morning. I'm going to vote for Ella, but I'm not sure that's where it will stay. I'm still trying to figure you people out.
My issue is not posting from my phone at all. It's how I play. I hate when people use that excuse actually. The only disadvantage I see is trying to multi-quote, and building parts of quotes. But you can work with it.
And I wasn't really in line with surfbum on roo nectar. It seemed like nobody had my back during that whole thing, otherwise I wouldn't have had to post so much to defend what I found to be pretty logical.
As for the vote changes, do you happen to read the first day at all? Between the confusion of the rule enforcement, mike D beating me to the punch, and my eventual giving up out of pure frustration and voting for roonectar at the end, my vote changes were pretty justified. Ever play with Viking? He changes votes more than he changes his underwear. There's a method to the maddness. It gets people talking.
I can appriciate this. I'm worried mafia will try to keep me around for this reason(and especial if I'm chasing down the wrong path), if I make it do day 5 and it's between me and someone else who's never mafia, who's gonna get the votes, me. Its hard for me to flat out say 'm fine with being voted off, but I'm fine with being voted off in place of someone I'm pretty sure is townie and if it casts aside suspicions and potentially saving the inspector another day.
Also noticing, pfunks vote seems useless to me right now. Ella is probably the last person I would vote for right now, and in turn prob the person you could vote for with the hope to not raise any suspicions. I'm assuming pfunk by being under a cloud of suspicion is trying to not ruffle any feathers and I'm trying to decide for which reason.
