Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Well, plans changed and it looks like I'm gonna be on my own at Roo this year. The thing is, this is my first big music fest (and my 1st time being so far from home alone) and my first time camping. So there's a lotta firsts here and I'm kinda nervous about it. I don't wanna get something wrong or get lost without someone to help me. Or (god forbid) be ditched by my ride. I'm really worried. Anyone else go alone the first time? How was it?
It is absolutely doable and you likely won't be alone for long (it is very easy to make friends at Bonnaroo). I would be a little careful considering you are young and female, maybe exchange information with some of the Camp Inforoo group in case you are not comfortable with the people who you get initially parked next to. I would think about camping over there either way, it is a great spot and a great group of people.
Other than that, read as much of these boards as you can for tips. Bring lots of water, some sort of shade structure and an open mind! If you have any specific questions ask away, this place is extremely helpful.
I'm going to Roo alone as well, a lot of my friends bailed out on me. They don't know what they are missing though, I mean Elton John?!! How can you miss that lol but I think I will get a better Roo experience going alone, you can meet so many people from what I hear and you don't have to be on people's schedule, just goo with the floooooooow!

Thanks!! I almost forgot about camp inforoo. i'll be sure to check it out

Yea, I agree you are better off with the freedom to do your own thing. Even when I've gone with a group, I've had the best time when I've gone off on my own.
I'm really looking forward to my first festival experience alone, and I'm really glad it's going to be at Roo. I just still need to find a way there...
well I feel a lot better about the whole situation. I've talked to my ride and seems like a pretty cool. We're gonna meet up before hand and go over the plans and whatnot

No one could go with me to Bonnaroo last year so I said screw it and decided to just go by myself. It was my first year and it was literally the BEST decision of my life. Everyone's great and you won't feel alone at all
Some of my favorite moments at Roo have been when I've been alone, at a show I wanted to be at, standing where ever I want to stand, and meeting everyone around me.
I went alone last year. Had an amazing time. I prefer to go alone because then I could see all the acts -I- wanted to see. Never felt unsafe. Didn't drink or take drugs though.
Let me know if you have any questions. I am a female and was freaking out because my friend ditched me last minute so I was forced to go alone. BEST decision ever.

This is my first Roo but not my first music festival. Every time I fest, I end up leaving my group anyways, however I'm thinking about setting up a separate campsite away from my group this year just to have my own base camp. Although I have to say that AndyMac gave the best advice above. A young girl in a huge crowd of people can be very intimidating. Unfortunately there's creepers no matter where you go. My advice would be to meet a couple people on here and meet up on the first or 2nd day in the day time. Even if it doesn't happen you'll have an idea of how easy it is to make friends, plus from what I've heard from the bonno-vets, the vibes at this show are super awesome

do it!!! you should feel a slight twinge about your first big solo fest... but your going to come home after doing whatever YOU wanted all weekend. no hassle of other opinions or campsite drama. your never going to think twice about it again... definitely go to camp inforoo
Yeah, if you're worried about camping alone and meeting people, joining the Inforoo crowd in Tent Only seems like a good plan. There will be friendly, helpful people around all the time there, and other people who came alone. I haven't made it to an Inforoo brunch yet (fingers crossed for this year!) but that has got to be a great time and a great way to meet some like-minded people, whatever age you are. Brunch wouldn't help you until Friday, but camping there Thursday certainly would. I was hoping to camp there this year but it looks like my group is going again after an absence last year, and they surely won't want to lug their gear to TO and leave their cars. Heck, I may do it anyway so we have an outpost near Centeroo.
I'm a large enough and old enough man that I just about never fear for my own physical safety, but Roo is pretty safe for everyone, as far as I can tell. Of course there are questionable people everywhere, but you also will never be very far from a bunch of good people. If I were a female going solo I probably wouldn't drink a ton or use any "party substances," but otherwise there isn't much to worry about. Keep coming back to Inforoo, meet some people here, then meet up when you get there, then at the very least you'll have someone you can trust if you need someone, or whatever.

i went for my first time to Roo but i met with people over through Facebook and camped with them. i was lucky to have my parents to drive methere and get me from, last year i went alone but i drove my self, with more confidence then th irst year but its a lot easier to go see what you want to see, not what the group or someone else wants you to. youll get to meet people there so you wont be as lonely.

The only reason I don't go alone is having to split hundos in travel costs. I usually see 70% of shows alone anyways. I find it easier to let loose when I'm not with anyone I know that could recall later my dance moves and their eerie similarity to the fremen groin pulse blasts from David Lynch's Dune.

Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.

I went alone four years ago. The girl I went with last year was either out of her mind or sleeping the entire trip, so essentially I was on my own then. Most likely going down by myself this year as well. There's no where in the world where I feel more comfortable than at 'Roo. Even when I go with bigger groups, I always end up on my own for at least a couple of hours. You'll have the jitters leading up to it and going in, but once you're set up, meeting your neighbors and the music starts you'll be absolutely fine.
I always try to be a big advocate of going to Roo alone. I have been 6 times now, 4 of them alone including my first year. Just like everyone has said, you are never really alone at Roo. Just make friends with the people near you in camp and at shows and you are good to go.

I went alone my first roo (also my first ever music festival). Do it!! It was an amazing experience and I think you will have a great time if you are open to it.
