> Vampire Weekend vs Phoenix vs Neutral Milk Hotel vs Chvrches > MFW they scheduled 4 of their biggest indie bands at the same time
lol
Yeah that was the one part of the schedule that just seemed off to me. I'm fine with conflicts because I anticipate them and my tastes are wide enough that they're to be expected. But to put that many similar artists who definitely have heavily overlapping fan bases on at the same time seems so strange. Granted I'm new so I don't know how things have been done before, but it leads me to hope maybe just one or two of those are wrong.
Thursday Wild Feathers > Rudimental > Allah-Las > ZZ Ward > MS MR > Cloud Nothings > Break Science > Polica > White Denim > Ty Segall
Friday St. Paul & Broken Bones > The Wood Brothers > Umphrey's McGee > Jake Bugg > Andrew Bird > Neutral Milk Hotel > Kanye West > Ice Cube > Die Antwoord > Chance the Rapper
Saturday Classixx > King Khan > First Aid Kit > Bobby Womack > Drive-By Truckers > Phosphorescent > Lauryn Hill > Jack White > Frank Ocean/Nick Cave > ?
Sunday The Black Lillies > Those Darlins > GOAT/Okkervil River > Warpaint > Broken Bells > Little Dragon > Elton John
There are some half sets in there I probably won't end up making it to, but this is my ambitious version.
I find it pretty weird that strangers on the internet are taking my clashfinder as truth. Especially cause I had no idea what any of the end times were.
Anywho, I have mixed feelings now that its too late to do anything about it. Still, Wednesday will give a pretty good indication how right we are.
Don't you wanna change the print advisory then? You have it set to Blue which is like the "almost correct" setting.
I think "Try to hold off printing if you can -- there are likely to be some fairly major edits and corrections" would describe this leak more accurately than where you have it now: "There are likely to be a few additions or revisions but if you're leaving for the festival now, go ahead and print anyway." Just my two cents.
Eh, i dont think it'd matter too much at this point. Going off what the Bonnaroo app said, these times are largely accurate imo.
And speaking from a personal standpoint, there were a few times as i was making the clashfinder that the schedule seemed to fit too well to be wrong. Little things like the layout of metal late night, or the way the metal tent and skrillex superjam both start with 30 min left in the headliner and their tent is the first one to end earlier in the day. The addition of the high and mighty brass band which is totally a bonnaroo move, and say what you want about Wiz Khalifa but Roo might've taken the Asap Rocky crowd as a lesson. Basically, it felt right. Of course, when the official version is released and is different, i'll be eating those words.
But i think we got a version not too dissimilar from last years may 1 release. A few changes are probably coming but i feel this one is pretty accurate. Still, no reason to throw it up on Roo's facebook laughing (anymore) until we know for sure. I'm glad i could help and it was a nice little rush doing it, but i didn't intend it to take away from Bonnaroo's control over their own announcement.
But staying positive! I love this schedule minus a few sacrifices. I know it affects everyone differently but if this is it, i think Roo did a fantastic job.... Minus having names 10, 11, 12 and 17 on the lineup playing at the same time. Haha.
There are definitely some game time decisions to be made. Grouplove vs Cage the Elephant, Do I give up a better spot for Kanye to go see Phoenix after Vampire Weekend?, Janelle Monae vs The Naked and Famous, but still, the days that can be assembled are ridiculous. On Friday I could go from St. Paul and the Broken Bones, to Dr. Dog to Jake Bugg to The Naked and Famous to Vampire Weekend to Kanye West. Mind Blown!
10/19/14-Phantogram
11/29/14-New Politics, Bad Suns
4/17/15-Hippo Campus, Night Riots, The Mowglis
5/1/15-Penn State Movin' On Music Festival-New Politics, Passion Pit, Big Gigantic, Big Sean
6/11/15-6/14/15-Bonnaroo!
6/21/15 - Paul McCartney
6/27/15-Halsey, Imagine Dragons

I was already expecting VW and CHVRCHES to overlap, but I am shocked that they threw NMH and Phoenix on Friday. However, at this point I'm beginning to make my peace with the schedule and really only have Friday pre-Kanye to worry about.
I'm surprised that so many people are skipping Jack White.
That's what happens when you put three highly anticipated shows in tents immediately following the headliner. Nick Cave doesn't tour a lot, Frank Ocean plays even less and the Skrillex Superjam is one time only. Not to mention the Flaming Lips who always put on a great live show.
I'm going to Forecastle so I can see Jack White there. But even if I weren't, skipping him to get a prime spot at one of the late nights would be a serious decision. All three tents have the potential to be classic Bonnaroo shows. Huge names in intimate settings late night Bonnaroo. In a way, it's what the festival is all about.
At this point, I'm leaning about 50% Frank Ocean, 25% Nick Cave and 25% Skrillex Superjam.
I'm honestly concerned about the crowd at The Other Stage for the Skrillex Superjam, Disclosure, and Zedd. Last year for ASAP Rocky and Matt & Kim the crowds were dangerously large and created a very unsafe atmosphere. Unless Roo has reconfigured the setup over there, which I doubt, this has the potential to end badly.
they need to add screens to the damn tents - we are long overdue for this. i dont even want to think about disclosure in the other tent - gonna be a madhouse and impossible to see anything..

The Other Tent is clearly evolving (slowly) into the electronic and rap tent. Last year, the outside of the tent had much better lines of sight and the screen behind the artists helped a little.
But if they're hosting massive shows there like the EDM Superjam and Disclosure, it'll have to be even bigger this year.
I would say the Skrillex Superjam would draw a bigger crowd, but Disclosure has way less competition. Ice Cube, an unknown superjam and a metal tent won't be able to compete with one of the hottest albums of last year.

The Skrillex superjam is up against Nick Cave, Frank Ocean, AND Flips. Disclosure is during Ice Cube (who despite what you guys say, will still have a massive crowd), Mastodon, and a Superjam (which is still a huge draw). There's plenty going on. The crowd will spread out.

I disagree. EDM is the flavor du jour for pretty much the majority of festival goers between 18-28. Disclosure might outdraw everything else playing at the same time. They should have put them before Skrillex on the Which. Not to mention the crowd moving from Disclosure to Skrillex is going to be stupid.
Two weeks of music on one stage. My idea for a new music festival
Last year I won tickets to the Lockn' Music Festival which may or may not be your thing but in terms of lay out, it's two side by side stages so as soon as one band is done, the next band starts with no more then 5 minutes in between shows. This years line up is pretty strong and have been considering going again (again if you are into jam bands and Wilco)
The migration from Other to Which after Disclosure for Skrillex will be nuts...I really hope to get a good spot for Disclosure but there's no chance unless I skip the last hour on Kanye, which isn't an option to me.

Yeah, EDM is a big deal and all that. It still doesn't take away from the fact that people (even 18-28) have different tastes. Those crowds will be some of the biggest of the weekend, sure. But it won't be "dangerously" congested.
You're also underestimating the appeal of someone like Ice Cube. There's a reason he's on the big stage and Disclosure isn't. By no means am I discrediting Disclosure's popularity, but you have also to take Cube's into consideration. I have a feeling many people will ride out the Which, Cube > Skrillex.

Unfortunately Lock'n is while I'm in school (damn education) so I won't be able to go for another couple of years. But this years lineup is awesome. Grace Potter is phenomenal and I'm really hoping I find some way to see the Allman Brothers before they call it quits

It was estimated Disclosure pulled 50k people to the Outdoor Theater at Coachella last weekend and they were up against Duck Sauce, Beck/Arcade Fire, and Motorhead...all stronger acts than what they're up against at Roo.

Ice Cube is on the Which because Bonnaroo is bad at scheduling things.
And you might be right. But after seeing Disclosure at Coachella I really think Bonnaroo made a mistake here.

Where would you have put him? I was thinking he might get a tent like Ludacris and Big Boi but maybe they didn't want another huge sprawling crowd like for Luda. I'm still surprised at how crowded that was but that could also be because of what else was going on at the time.
