Is this your first Bonnaroo? I don't think I've known anyone to take full days off from the fest, is why I ask. Especially after coming such a long way!
Have you listened to the other bands Thursday, Friday, & Sunday? It would be a shame to feel like you missed out on something you like down the road (I speak from experience).
It is but I'll already be in Chicago for the week so the flight wont be so bad. Sunday has a lot of bands I like (Warpaint, Okkervil River, maybe Elton John), but I've heard so many grim stories about the crowd and the weather I'm thinking I shouldn't push it.
Is this the same KickerConspiracy from the Coach boards? The one who wouldnt shut up about how amazing Bonnaroo's lineup was? And you're going for a day?
Two sets have me really curious based on the schedule. There are always some surprises at Roo. Nowhere near the extent of Coach, but still some. So I'm going to guess.
1. Damon Albarn. Bobby's there for Stylo right? @foxandhound I'm still aching for this to be his wildest setlist yet. Its fine if you hate me for that. 1:30 mins mid day on the What Stage? Either shits going down or I'm skeptical of Roo's placement of him.
2. Pusha T. Last set in the other tent. Basically late night. Not necessarily No Malice coming out, but I'm guessing this set ends up being unique to try and close out Thurs with a bang.
After SXSW you'd hope Damon brings out Bobby, but who knows. He's played This is a Low recently, so that might start to get worked in. Interesting to see what the next month brings, he's got a fair amount of shows.

One and the same. And I still stand by that. The 'Roo lineup is better than the Coachella lineup. It's mostly an accident of scheduling that virtually every band I'd want to see is on Saturday. Also adding to that is the fact that tons of the same acts are playing at OSL which I can almost walk to from my SO's house and not have to fight traffic and crazy humidity. With the exception of the Replacements, having attended Coachella the last 5 years on top of seeing a lot of shows here in SF, I'd seen virtually every artist I cared to on the Coachella lineup. And I'm happy I wasn't caught in that crazy duststorm on Saturday.
Also, we probably have different tastes in music. Mine being absolutely correct, and yours being completely wrong. Clearly.

You liked Calvin Harris's set, so your last statement is immediately false.
I also don't get how people are like, "there's nothing I want to see for hours!" This is Bonnaroo and you still have seven weeks to listen to new music. Surely you can scrounge up something worth your time.
People have a skewed idea of the experience until they get there, they are sitting here in their current mental state with their ticket and a little notebook with all their fancy plans thinking a live show is like a YouTube video or something. Then they're going to get to 'Roo and go "oh, everything I thought I knew was wrong, I have been doing everything wrong with my life, I will be a better person from now on, oh wow there's music here, I would like to go listen to it". It's basically like that time cousin Jerry ate that bag of mushrooms he found, minus the hour of vomiting and uncontrollable sobbing.
my schedule but god knows it'll change:
THURSDAY Wild Feathers -> ?? -> MS MR -> Break Science -> Policia -> White Denim
Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.
So many coach board people seem like sour pusses. (not kicker)
Thank you.
I was actually super surprised at how helpful and nice people on the Bonnaroo message boards are. I expected way more snarky dickishness like on the Coachella forums.

You're actually in luck. A few of our most prominent snarky dicks have been laying low for the past few months.

interested in? or have ever heard of/familliar with?
Generally I'm not big into metal, hip hop, or a lot of electronic music for that matter. So after Superjam? and the Lips, not really anything I'm interested in.
Also Phyre Fest Bonnaroo is the festival for me. There's music all day that I'm interested in, except for later part of late nite.
Have you checked out Darkside? You might be able to get into them. Pitchfork has a wonderful live show from them.
