My friends and I are going. I've been to a couple of concerts in Atlanta, and I love the city, but both of the concerts have been in Olympic Park and there are NOT ENOUGH BEER VENDORS!!! I end up standing in line for beer for 45 minutes!

This is in Piedmont Park and there are plenty of beer vendors.

In a statement released at 9:00 am Tuesday, "The greatest challenge for the festival every year is to exceed the success of the prior year," said Peter Conlon, President of Live Nation Atlanta. "This year's line-up does that hands down!"

but srsly, Shaky Knees has an uncanny ability that every festival should have- being able to introduce go-ers to new bands. I've gone to Music Midtown the past two years and I've only discovered LP and Reignwolf. But one year at Shaky Knees, and I discovered some bands that are now some of my favourite.

This is the coolest thing you ever said in this thread, and a great point.

but at SK, the only band that disappointed me was Modest Mouse. Every other band (Tokyo Police Club, Phox, Cage the Elephant, Alabama Shakes, etc.) killed it.
Quote from catlanta earlier this week " 10 years ago, we actually had a music festival with an eclectic lineup that stretched across genres and brought us performers that weren't all top 40 musicians. Bob Dylan plus Bob Weir plus Shaggy plus Tony Bennett?! Now we have 1/4 the number of performers with 1/10 the amount of talent. I'm so glad to have a Clear Channel music festival calling Atlanta home!"
I just looked it up, in 2012 (the last time they had additional acts) they didn't announce them until July 11th.
So, I'm hoping they read my angry facebook comments and add Kaiser Chiefs.
I mean, listen to this:
Kaiser Chiefs opened for my first concert ever... Green Day at Gwinnett Arena in '09. They were good, we were close, don't remember any song besides Ruby.

Does anyone know how additional acts work? Do they have then booked when they release the line up or do they book them after people have reacted to the line up?
