So does AC/DC and both are skipping Atlanta. Both make sense from a date perspective I just can't see MM having two acts like that.
They both as much sense as each other. In 2011, they had Pearl Jam and Foo Fighters who have very similar crowds so it could something like that.
I think there's a huge different between Pearl Jam and Foo being on one lineup and Van Halen and AC/DC being on one. That just seems like they'd be blowing their load on their headline and the rest of the undercard would be incredibly mediocre.

Need I remind you that Eminem was the headliner last year? He severely drained the undercard so I don't think they're afraid of that

Good point. They were still able to set up a decent undercard despite Shady's price tag though.

Ehhhh. The only undercards I liked were Strypes and Banks. Even including them, that was a very weak line up. Just seemed like it was put together last second.

It was underwhelming for sure. I still think 2013 was one of the best lineups I've ever seen. So I know MM can put together something great.

They have the ability for sure but what bothers me is how proud Conlon was last year. He said it was better than 2013 so that concerns me. He could've easily been in denial though.

We're about three weeks away from the line-up drop, so here's my mock. This is on the assumption that they have two headliners a night again.
Van Halen - Beck - Drake - Modest Mouse
Robert Plant and the SSS - The Weeknd - Childish Gambino - Ellie Goulding
Walk the Moon - Weezer (to make up for the ticket scanner incident of 2013) - Flaming Lips - De La Soul Run the Jewels - St. Paul and the Broken Bones - Glass Animals - Tokyo Police Club
other headliner ideas: Kendrick, Killers, The Cure, Radiohead, Rihanna, Mumford and Sons

The Weeknd would be billed as a headliner at this point, definitely over Modest Mouse.

Really? Hm. Not really a big follower of either artist so you're probably right.

Given that this is set for mid September, I am guessing a lineup announcement should occur soon. Has anyone seen or heard any further updates?
Haven't seen or heard anything. I am ready to see this lineup. Back in 2012, our first one, the lineup was in the Bonnaroo Beacon. That's how we found out about it. 2013, they released an artist album image all throughout Bonnaroo. Last year they went off the rails, not releasing the lineup until June 24, turning this thread into Hangout's twin brother, and we were introduced to tranter. Good times.
